The Hawks had an inspiring victory in Game 3 Saturday night, but can they bounce back and win again tonight?

Or do you think the Celtics will win and head back to Boston with a 3-1 series lead?

I hope Josh Smith does not fall in love with the jump shot. I don’t think he has has a consective game where he has been consistent on both ends of the floor.

I would like to think that the Hawks will win tonight and I thought they had a chance up until Al Horford mocked one of the best scorers in the NBA Paul Pierce will go off tonight. With that being said if for some reason he doesnt then we have a chance GO HAWKS!

**looks like all the hawks needed was a reality check/wake up call which the urgency of the playoffs provides by default
they have the youngest, most athletic team in the playoffs (or at least one of them - philly and new orleans are similar) and they went all out saturday and dominated
we need those alley-oops early in the game - if the hawks hustle, hit the boards and take care of the ball like they did saturday, they can hang with the celts
if they celts lose tonight, expect them to start complaining about the refs - also a big rivalry is brewing with the physicality of this series**

They have a good chance of winning tonight…momentum is definately in their favor after game 3. BUT, lets be honest with ourselves…the Celtics will blow them out once they get back to Boston. The series will end 4 games to 2 with Boston advancing.

I believe the Hawks have a good chance of winning. Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Al Horford, and the rest of the Hawks just have to be consistent and step up there game from 1st quarter to the 4th quarter. The Hawks have a very young team but they have just as much talent as any team in the league. GO HAWKS…..

No,it’s was a great win but I don’t see them winning another game. I think this will be a wake up call for the Celtics.
I believe the win did get Mike Woodson another contract. Billy Knight had the right idea when he wanted to fire Woodson a couple of months ago. He knew anything could happen if the made the playoffs. Now it would be another bad PR move if they fire now. The owners need to let the basketball people make the decisions.

Sure they can. Especially since this game is in our house. The chink in the Big Green Armor has been found and revealed, and it’s just as everyone thought: Boston dictates the pace, they win. Atlanta runs, guns, and rebounds, and youthful legs will be served. Did anyone see KG at the end of that game? He was sucking wind. Bring it Hawks, time to make this thang a series! Make sure you get your points in the paint, don’t settle for jumpshots! Drive and collect those fouls! Frustrate Frustrate Frustrate!

Hey Y’all:
SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell yes, I believe the HAWKS will win tonight and throughout the playoff. They got that monkey and jitters off their back. That’s what playing at home did. Now they are back to their running and gunning helter skelter style of offense and defense. The young guys have now got a taste of winning in an NBA playoff. And they are loving it. What we are going to wittness now are the new stars in the NBA. The old leg wearied Celtics know that something is different and cocky about these Hawks. Attitude is everything. and the Hawks spirit and attitude is sky high. I am loving seeing the process continue in these former No. 1 draft choices. There is no stopping them now. Tonight they will win and will be extremely hard to beat throughout the playoff. The celtics know they are in for a fight. They will try to use their bench but they will not get the opportunity due to their starters are going to be needed to fend off the attack the Hawks are going to put to them. Our bench on the other hand is licking their chops to get into this frenzy. Tonight we will win and continue to “SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!

Hawks need to come out aggressive & jump on them early. Sat., the crowd was off the hook!. I was at the game Sat. & the crowd stayed in the game from start to finish. We need that again from the hawks & the crowd. It is more important tonite, as Boston will come out with even more energy. Be ready for some physical play as Boston will try to keep Josh Smith from getting dunks. We need Mike Bibby tonite! C’mon Mike!! Let’s gem ‘em Hawks!!!

Can the Hawks win? Well yes, there is a chance.
Not a good chance though. Boston will be focused and on a mission.
Hawks need to play TEAM DEFENSE, REBOUND, get EASY TRANSITION POINTS and not settle for jumpers in the half court offense.
CW says they will get blown out. If they win, it could be the biggest win in franchise history.

I’m glad Horford make it clear that the Hawks weren’t ‘scared’ of Pierce and his Celtics. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh No, Pierce is mad now.” Look, Pierce is the one with everything to loose. Noone, NOONE had the Hawks winning ONE game in this series, and we’ve accomplished that. We take 2 games, the media will be talking ‘What’s wrong in Beantown?’ Was Ali (or, more precisely, a young Cassius Clay) afraid to taunt the unbeatable Sonny Liston? That’s the demeanour of your Hawks right now folks, and I’m loving it. Now let’s get some Rumble in the Jungle chanting down tonight in Phillips Arena:

The only thing that I was looking for in this series was for the Hawks to play hard and be competitive in every game, and maybe steal one game. I was very disappointed after the the first two games, however now I am cautiously optimistic. I still think that the Hawks will eventually lose this series. However, if they can at least pull-out one more win tonight for the home fans, that would be great.

Yes the Hawks can win!!! I was shocked when I turned on the game Sat. night and saw Philips packed and the fans going nuts. The Hawks fed off the energy from the crowd and wouldn’t be denied. Same thing should happen tonight. If we go back to Boston 2-2, the Celtics and their fans will be scared sh**less. And for those worried about Pierce being mad, he’s in the PLAYOFFS, and his team is in danger of being tied 2-2, he doesn’t need to be motivated.

The Hawks can get the monkey and the jitters and everything else off their back and it won’t matter. After acting foolish and running their mouths the other night the Celtics are going to kick ‘em so bad they’ll like it. The Hawks maybe young but they need to show some class and act like they expect to win instead of punks off the street. I might have pulled for them but after watching that trash the other night I wouldn’t pull for ‘em for all the tea in China.

Hawks can win tonight. i was there Sat night and it was as loud as any sporting event i have witnessed. they need us fans out there supporting them again tonight, which i will be. Joe is due for a 35 point game. i see Joe and Bibby rolling tonight. the Celtics will be much more aware of Smoove and Horford in the paint and it should open it up for the guards to have big games. It will be tough but they’ve shown they can do it. Don’t underestimate the role of the home crowd. Fill that place up with rabid Hawk’s fans to cheer them on and intimidate the Celtics. Boston has better shooters and more talent but that can be overcome with aggressive defense, rebounding and smart shot choices. Go Hawks.

Our best chance is to let em run. The Celtics are great players, but they are also old.
Also, we truly shell-shocked them on Saturday. Boston was clearly not expecting that kind of energy in the Highlight Factory, and veterans or not, they were visibly rattled. They won’t be caught off guard tonight, so we need to be very very sharp—and very very fast.

Hawks are trash talking rebels and the Celtics are all gentlemen who wouldn’t think of stooping to such a thing? Really??
Boston “gave” this game to the Hawks so they could win the first round in front of their home fans? You think so?
For some strange reason, “Sam I Am” didn’t hit his usual 20 points in two minutes Saturday and didn’t get to do his sex dance. What happened?
Can the Hawks win another game? It’s possible. The Hawks showed the Celtics they wouldn’t simply roll over and play dead for them simply because of their great record. If they win this series, they will now have to earn it.

Paul Pierce throwing up that gang sign was the weakest and lame WANKSTA move I’ve ever seen in a professional b-ball game! He is nothing but a girl for getting that mad anyway. I wonder if that’s what cause him to get stbbed 11 times a few years ago; acting like a chump when things don’t go his way. They ought to suspend him for pulling that b*tch move. This is the NBA, not Compton you jackazz. You know they ought to play that 50 Cent song “Wanksta” when he steps on the court tonight. What a buster. I hope Horford clowns him again tonight. He showed that he can dish when his ugly azz girlfriend, Sam Cassell, does his gay azz dance- yeah all teeth then, but when he gets it handed back to him he wants to fight. What a punk. Is that what you Celtics fans are proud of? That shows you something right there.

Use a proven formula to BEAT THE CELTICS. Run the Celtics out of Phillips Arena tonight. The Celtics legs are so old that they cant possibly keep up with the youthful fresh legs of the young Hawks. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett are about as ancient as tarantasaurus rex (an old dinasaur that roamed the earth approximately 1000000 years b.c. (before Christ)). Run, Run, Run and then Run some more. In other words, run those green monsters silly until they pass out on the floor. That formula will work every single time against the Men in Green. Hawks in six.

The Celtics lost because it’s hard to stay focused playing a team that’s got so little talent. It happens all the time in the playoffs, but the Hawks won’t win this series this year - or next, if they’re lucky enough to fall into the playoffs again. And if they ever had to go up against a West team, they’d wet their pants. Those boys play some sad basketball.

first of all, i know people arent actually calling the Hawks lame and classless because of a little trash talk. thats the NBA and thats the playoffs baby. the Celtics were pounding their chest and taling smack in Beat town last week, why cant we do the same, because of our record?, please i admit Boston is a much better team, but i guess it has to be embarrassing to let the big bad boston three party to get a dose of their own medicine. Sam Cassel was talking smack about blowing the Hawks out in game one before the second half even started, and we were only down by nine points, no clas and no respect for the young Hawks. do i think we can win, of course. do i really believe in my heart of hearts that we will, no, i am a realist and i realistically know anything can happen as proven on Saturday, but the Celts are just too experienced and better coached to let an opportunity slipped through their finger tips by letting the Hawks beat them. I love the Hawks and this young group of talent, but i dont think we can win four games against those guys. i will be watching tonight and i will be yelling my freaking head off.. i cant wait
GO HAWKS!!!

Shawdow…c’mon man….lets see, Celtics have won 70 out of 85 games this year, so your ‘formula’ has an 18 % chance to work….also Rivers much, much better coach to effect their strategy on Hawks, vs the other way around…up my prediction to 93 Celts 75 Hawks

Paul Pierce is a punk sissy. A little cry baby if you ask me. Al Horford made hime look like an idiot that he is. Throwing up gang signs, go back to elementary school, you punk. All you Celtic fans will be crying making up excuses again after tonight. We will go back up tp Boston tied 2 to 2 and remember after 1 game in Boston, we are right back in Atown. Josh Smith was also dunking on all of their a**es. They couldn’t do anything, and why didn’t Sam Cassell do his punk move the other night, Oh yeah he was losing. Celtics are a bunch of sore losers if you ask me. Enjoy another lost tonight Celtic fans hahahahahahaha, WHAT. Thats what I thought.

Taunting Pierce was extremely foolish. Hopefully, he does NOT drop 40 tonight.
Key for Hawx is to force tough shots, rebound, and get #5 flying. As we saw in game 3, if he gets early confidence, he is a MUCH improved player and CAN actually hit jump shots!
15 was wrong for that, but…HORFORD STILL ROX!

One win and these fans believe that the hawks will win in 6?
Haha. Hilarious.
Just remember, it takes 4 wins to take a series, not 1. Perhaps you might realize what the playoffs are about, considering you haven’t been there in 9 years.

rebound block shots steal the ball no gaterade at halftime so you won’t be sluggish in the 3rd quarter

Also remember that it takes 4 wins NOT TWO to take a series, Alex. That didn’t turn out quite the way you expected, did it?

The Celtics are suppose to be the “mature” team but they are acting like a bunch of babies!! The Hawks have never been that kind of team to talk smack til Boston started it so I’m very happy they (Horford/Smoove) are not letting them take advantage of them!! If I was Horford, I would pound my chest just like Garrett did and if I was Smoove, I would do the monkey dance like Sam just to mock them…NOW THAT WOULD REALLY GET THEIR BLOOD BOILING!! Go HAwks!!

I absolutely loved the way the played Saturday night, and I believe they have a chance of winning tonight. That being said, the reality is that they will go back to Boston and lose. The series will end 4-2, and guess what??? I’m perfectly okay with that. I believe that these young guys have a lot of confidence right now and a lot to build on. They will enter next season with an entirely new attitude. On a separate note, while I love Horford’s play and intensity, I do think he should be a little careful. Barking at Pierce…I had no problem witht that. My issue was the little gesture where he was wiping the ball off after someone got their shot blocked. Love the guy, but I don’t want him to get too caught up either.

Now, everybody’s going to think that I’m crazy and they’re not too terribly far from the truth, but just hear me out. The key to this game is Marvin Williams. Listen, Marvin scored 13 points last Saturday night, including, but not limited to, a huge putback on a Mike Bibby miss. Of all Atlanta starters, Boston is most likely to forget about him. Make no mistake, I’m not saying he has to be great. Great may not be in him and God knows he needs help with his footwork, but if he can be good enough to take a little attention off of the other four starters, they might just have a chance tonight…

Hear ya gagirl. This series is going to be a learning experience for the Hawks in a lot of different ways. I hope that they’ll learn the right lessons. In years to come, they’re going to be able to outclass a lot of teams the same way that Boston outclassed them in the first two games. I just hope that they’ll show a little more class.

I is possible - not probable. I’d love to see the home team win another at home - what a great thing that would be for the guys. But reality is the Celtics have been the best all year and it just won’t happen.

The Hawks deserved to win game 3. They played great basketball, however after watching the Celts win 66 games this year, I’m guessing that the Hawks just woke up a sleeping giant.

The only guarantee tonight is that things WILL get HEATED!
Hopefully , PP gets suckered into KO’ing a 10th or 11th man on Hawx roster. (Don’t hit #15, PP.)
Path to Round 2 would get easier without c’s at full strength for the next few games!
I know, have some class, Rox. NO THANX!!

NO Horford Rox! We don’t sink to that level. There are much more important things than winning this series. I haven’t waited ten years for a playoff team to see my team turn into the Dixie Bad Boys! They’re better than that. Now, maybe Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are so starved for a championship that they’re willing to resort to antagonism and intimidation to obtain it, but I refuse to believe that we are. I don’t care if they win or lose, but I demand that my team play with dignity and integrity. The rest will take care of itself.

The Hawks played their best game of the year, against one of the best teams in the league, & with their backs against the wall. The Celtics didn’t shoot well or defend well so I expect them to bounce back, & I don’t think the Hawks can play that good again.

Celtic Pride, fair post. Tim from Boston, since you love Paul Pierce so much, why don’t you get a bunch of little cronies together and pay his fine. Obscene hand gestures wasn’t it??? And as far as punkish behavior, after the way that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce behaved in those first two games, I don’t think you or any other Boston fans have the moral high ground to condemn ANYTHING that Al Horford did on Saturday night. I didn’t appreciate how he got in Pierce’s ear either, but he was a rookie, caught up in the excitement of the moment and probably still mad about all that showboating that your guys did in Boston. What’s your teams excuse for their childish behavior?
Oh, and by the way, Tim from Boston, I’m sure your team has blogs for their fans. Kindly remove yourself from ours.

Trust me Horford Rox, I understand. Sometimes I’d love to see somebody flatten KG and I got so made at Sam Cassell the other night that I wanted to hold a mirror in front of his face and watch him turn to stone! BUT a win without honor is no win at all. There’s ten years separating the Hawks from where the Celtics are in terms of maturity and game knowledge, but it’s never too late to learn integrity and if they take one lesson away from their first trip to the finals, that’s what I would want it to be. Be patient, our time will come.

That 1st Half was INCREDIBLE! I have not had this much fun watching basketball, since Pac-man was a Hawx Logo, not a football player.
Hope they play smart, but keep up the intensity in 2nd Half.

Would also like to see less OFF Rbds for boston, more S Jones blocking shots, Hawx continue to attack and get to FT Line!

Perkins and Marvin don’t deserve a suspension. Hope NBA uses common sense on that issue. Technically they left bench, but just barely touched floor!
Gotta run, 3rd has begun.
