He was a beast WHEN he played, but besides 2004. I don’t think he averaged more than 5 games a year. I wouldn’t expect for that average to improved either. It was a move that had to be made.

well, its obvious they feel that coleman doenst fit the new scheme. i like the fact that they wannna be strong up the middle, so, dumping lawyer milloy would be my next move, unless he wants to take a salary cut and stay on the team in a mentoring role for a new strong safety. the falcons have got to get physical, so whatever moves they need to make towards that end, im all for it.

Coming from a 6 year season ticket holder I think this is a great cut. Coleman only played in 5 games last year and is getting older by the day. You never know what kind of off season accident he may get in this year, let him go ride his jet ski’s and get in one car accidents somewhere else. Other guys I hope to see gone include DUNN, BROOKING, WEINER, FORNEY, GANDY, HORN, FINNERIAN. I do believe we stick with Milloy for one more season. I hate to see Dunn and Brooking gone since they are Falcon favorites but there best days are behind them.

Well I knew this was coming Rod hasnt performed since we first picked him up awhile back. With all his injuries and small off field incidents I didnt expect he would be kept. If he was the Rod of old days getting that paw up and tipping balls I would say keep him, but he is not so good move.

I agree with the Falcons decision to release Coleman. He was a good player and may still have a little left in the tank but he is not a franchise building block player. He has become injury prone and not dependable. Nothing personal, just business. All aging, declining, veterans will have to go in order to create a new team spirit or attitude to build on. Thanks for all the help and effort guys. Nothing personal it’s just business.

What’s most ironic is that Vick is currently the only “high-priced veteran” who is safe; he won’t be cut any time soon.

They really need to get rid of all of “the Falcon Five”, Crumpler, Hall, Houston, White and Horn. Otherwise, they will poison any team the Falcons try to field. They should also sack the dog-killer Babineaux. The only player who absolutely should be retained is Warrick Dunn; a class act who can serve as a great example to younger players.

Sorry to see Rod go but his time here is over. I hope to see a lot more cuts to both line. I’d keep Dunn, Brooking, Horn, and Milloy and everyone else is fair game provided we can replace them with talented players.

I think it was the right thing to do. He had a great 2004 but steadily became less effective and his 2 off field injuries smack of DUI’s even though there was never any legal involvement. Lets also not forget his druken rant at a police officer in which he said something like “do you know who I am!?”. The best thing about this move is it makes it easier to take the player who should be #1 on the Falcons draft board: Glenn Dorsey.
By The Grinch
February 15, 2008 11:31 AM | Link to this
Good move; Coleman’s an excellent DT when he’s healthy but he’s proven to be a mush-head in the off-season. Not worth it. Makes me wonder if they’re gonna go after Dorsey in the draft.
The only untouchables should be Norwood (and not as a feature back, but change of pace and KO returns), Boley, Mughelli (he’ll be MUCH better utilized now), Blaylock, and maybe White and Robinson. I’d try and get a good deal for MeAngelo if possible, and try to keep Brooking and Milloy for another season if they restructure, but anyone and everyone else is fair game. Time to blow it up and start over. If Blank keeps his nose out of it and just signs checks we may have a chance.
By AK-47
February 15, 2008 11:32 AM | Link to this
You can’t cut DeAngelo, that’s ridiculous. Our DBs are the worst in football, and D Hall is the only potential playmaker we have. Trade him for something if you want to move him. We also have to keep Crumpler and Brooking, they’re still productive and we’re not going to find a better alternative. Horn, Dunn, Finneran and Wayne Gandy should all be cut. I’d sure rather see Jerious getting his carries than Warrick Dunn. His days are finished. We need to add another big RB in the draft and we can build around a strong young backfield.
By The Grinch
February 15, 2008 11:34 AM | Link to this
I would definitely not “cut” Hall; I’d try to get a 1st and 3rd rounder from some team that needs a CB and if I couldn’t, I’d keep him. He’s a douche, but he’s good.

Coleman has been a great player, and has helped the Falcons. But you can’t continue to pay and play a player based on his reputation and/or past successes. It’s time for Rod to go. The pruning will continue, some favorites will be cut, but it is the right thing to do to mold the Falcons into a perennial contender.

Free Mike Vick seems to think the convicted felon is going to be our starting QB in 09. I don’t think Mike Vick will be doing so much as serving gatorade for us in 09. He will never be our QB again, and I seriously doubt Blank will allow him to put on the uniform. The best we can hope for is low round draft pick, if we even retain his rights after this bonus money thing gets straightened out. Wishful thinking Free MV.

Neckville and other Vick morons, Vick is still on the roster but he’s also in prison on a Federal felony. He faces trial in Virginia soon and he could get several more years to serve if found guilty there. Once he’s out Goodell will, more than likely, give him a suspension of a year or two. Vick won’t be eligible to play for quite some time. The Falcons have him on the roster so they can pursue bonus money paid to him on a contract he abrogated with his unlawful behavior. He will never play for the Falcons again and if the money is not recovered he will never play for any other NFL team.
Most of the people contributing on here don’t go to Falcons games and that’s because they would have to come into contact with people like you. Mr. Blank wants a new home for the Falcons and he wants to locate it in an area where he could draw a more diverse cross-section of the metro public. There are many people who would like to go to games but don’t want to have to be subjected to all the concomitant noise, aggression and danger one finds in Jungletown!

Please stop cursing Michael Vick, he does not need to come back to Atlanta, he needs a clean start somewhere else. preferably with a black coach who will be more a father figure and a mentor to him and wont tolerate any foolishness from. He deserves a second chance, so why would you want him to come back to that hell hole. Another team will surround him with a line that can block and set him up to succeed and not fail like Arthur Blank did. All Blank wanted was a full stadium.

I dont understand why the Falcons are trying to get money already paid to him from 2004 to 2007 he fulfilled his obligations, and they made 100 times that bonus money while he was playing. It comes a time when you do the right thing and cut him and move on. This is just piling on and the Falcons and the league know that, please dont think we are dumb enough to think that he spent 20 million dollars on financing dogfighting please give me a break. With all the money he had come in from about 30 sponsors a year and millions from that are the falcons crazy or what? The NFL needs to check their axx on the cover-up. I cant wait until Goddell gets exposed for what he did in spygate. So many self-righteous people getting exposed for what they really are cheats and liars. I say we keep Brooking. Several of you fail to notice the fact that he’s been playing out of position. He is a weakside backer, who has played in the middle, because of injuries to others or the failure of FA signings (Ed Hartwell). He is a local boy, one of our own, and the epitome of a team player. I know Bulldog fans hate to see a Jacket starting for the Falcons, but get over it.

I hope the fans understand it’s going to get worse before it gets better. We’re going to be a few years away from sniffing the playoffs.
And Vick is not coming back to the Falcons. You have to remember he admitted to personally killing dogs in a brutal way. PETA will NEVER let this go.
Even if Vick somehow came back the Falcons could never have public functions because of potential safety issues between PETA protestors and Vick fans.

Coleman being cut was first of many necessary changes. Falcons are 19-29 over last 3 yrs - if at least 35% of this roster isn’t turned over, then I’ll be shocked.
Others who have to go due to age, lack of production, attitude, salary hit, etc: Horn, Crumpler, Crocker, Dunn, Finneran, Forney, MAndersen, Leftwich, Harrington.
Those who have to step it up NOW or be cut: Jenkins, Mughelli, Jimmy Williams, Demorrio Williams, Milner, the rest of the OLine except for Blaylock.
Now for those mentioned often in this blog but I believe need to stay: Brooking (yeah, not what he used to be but still productive and a strong leader); Milloy (see Brooking); Vick (but only until the NFL can settle on the repayment of the bonus money…and then cut him).
OK, here we go…DHall: too good to be let go, but not sure he really wants to be here. If he and the new coaches can’t get on the same page FAST, then he’ll need to be traded. But he has limited trade value since he’ll have free agent status next year, and no team will give up a high first round pick to get DHall (that would be his value) without knowing if he’ll stick around past ‘08. So, if it comes to it, Falcons will have to re-sign Hall to an extension and THEN trade him.
And now on to the draft!!!

Hey Stan,
You are right! All the players that were cut have one thing in common… “THEY ALL SUCK” Being black had noting to do with it. Here we go again with another idoit playing the race card. Maybe Crumpler, and Coleman can join Vick in the Virginia State Penal League.

Please , please, please cut Keith Brooking! I’m tired of this hometown crap!! He is the poster child for why stats aren’t worth a damn! On paper, my goodness, he’s a beast. But in reality how many interceptions, sacks, or tackles came when the Falcons needed them most? How many do you fans remember? How many plays can you actually recall Keith Brooking making that had an impact on the games? Oh, we can talk about bad plays all day long but do you recall any moments where you said,”thats what I’m talking ‘bout Brooking?”
This is a business. We want to win. Stop worrying about who momma lives here and worry about who will bust a guy in the mouth on a 4th and one with no seconds on the clock. We need that guy. I’m tired of this franchise being mocked. We have endured losing for so long even the so called writers for this paper write with a pessimistic pen. We need an entire overhaul from the owner to the guy that delivers the papers for the AJC!!

Sorry Haters but Free Mike Vick is right. VICK spells something in Atlanta. And that is hope. Yes the falcon have been around for 30+ years. But can any of you say that they had any hope before MV7? Ticket prices are higher than they have ever been, season tickets holder are more than ever. I assure you that this is not to see the good guys Dunn and Brooking. MV7 is not just a player to the Falcons but he is Arthur Blanks business partner. He brings in the money and thats what this country is all about….green backs. MV7 presents helps other teams sellout games they normally wouldn’t sellout. Dont you really think Blank will cut his bread winner only to see him make piles of cash for some other owner. While Blank continues to cut prices and experience blackouts…I dont see that happening. REAL fans will feel incredibly betrayed if Vick is traded. Think about this…. an aweful lot has been said about the new GM, new coaches, and all the changes forthcoming, but no word what so ever of releasing MV7…hmm. Theres a reason for that yall. Mr. Blank has said “Micheal Vick will be a Falcon for life” Goodell and Blank both want the money maker back ASAP.Ever heard the phrase “money talk BS runs a marathon” VICK in 08

If these coaches were good I would be the frist to say shut up but he was a clown and they told his redneck @$$ he was mess up and he was! I say speak up when thing are not right don’t be a punk! 1) Keep Arthur off the field and players out of his living room (be their boss not their daddy) 2) trade D-Hall for a high draft pick or QB, 3) trade Vick to someone willing to take the risk and I would say that that you have a pretty good start on starting over.

I’m believing that this is a day that Falcons fans will not forget anytime soon. I feel as many Falcons fans out there, or should I say serious season Falcon ticket holders. It’s about time this team get back to the fundamentals of basic football. If Management has to gut out more high profile players I’m for it. I, along with many other fans out here, have been totally disappointed by the final product this organization has strutted out on the field. Our ticket prices have constantly been climbing. If not for the circumstances behind this past horrific season, the prices would be climbing once again. Mr. Blank, only dropping tickets of cheap seats was not enough. I must say that it looks as if we’re finally headed in the right direction after 7 yrs.

Good job so far. Others must also go. I know it hurts to see old friends go, but this is fotball, And if you do not commit to give your playing time your all, you are expendable. Replacements may come slower, but attitudes will be good. That makes a big difference in the effort you are able to achieve. We can not afford players who do not give there all and who have a poor attitude.

Forever fan, If you think Vick is Blank’s business partner you are truly in denial. How many times can someone lie and embarress their so=-called business partner. Correct me if I am wrong but the Falcons were selling out in 98 and 99. Vick had nothing to do with it. It is called winning, something that hasn’t happened with Vick since the d=-coordinators figured out how to handle him. They all learned that a 3 or 4 man rush keeps him in the pocket and he never had the ability to check down. A great athelete but no qb and no character. If you think he will be playing here again….

Yes Vick has lied and embarrassed the Falcons, the city and Arthur Blank to the fullest no denying that. But on the contrary Mike has made hundreds of millions of dollars for Arthur Blank like no other player can. With that said they may not be buddies but Blank still wants that money making draw. If he were planning to cut Vick there would be some sort of indicators already surfacing. Watch the Falcon not select a QB with the 1st round pick and that will tell the story. They will select a OL to protect Vick when he returns. You haters are blinded by hate. Love him or hate him there is no replacement.

The longer MV7 remains on the roster, the more likely he will be playing in a Falcons uniform in the future. He’s already served over 4 months, probably will be out in 6-8 more months. He could conceivably join the team by October. I’d welcome him back. If he does his time and comes out determined to put his life on the right track, he can help this team.
As for Crumpler, he was a troublemaker. Better to see him gone. His blocking skills were not good anyway. And he slowed down this past year. I’d like to see D. Hall shown the door as well, but trade him for another 1st rd. pick. I like Dunn and Harrington, but neither provide any real solutions for the backfield. Better to keep Chris Redmon and go after McFadden.

How many times do you Vick supporters have to be told about the salary cap and bonus money? If they let him go now they would be crucified with the cap. I don’t understand how hard that is to understand. They would be nuts to take a qb in the first round. Qb is not the biggest need. I will agree that I hope they take an o-lineman or d-lineman but whatever, it has nothing to do with vick. Check out the salary cap ramifications before you spew the garbage. Plus, with Arthur Blank talking of buying the braves I don’t think money is the issue in the Vick case. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed watching Vick the first couple of years but it got old and the league caught up with him

Granted, some idiotic GM might want to take a chance on him (certainly not as a QB) but I guarantee you not one owner is willing to stand at a podium and announce he is welcoming Michael Vick to that particular city.

“Free Mike Vick” what are you smoking. First of all Vick was’nt even a good NFL QB. Don’t get me wrong he is one of the best athletes I have ever seen. But you got to be smart to be a NFL QB. Well Vick has proven time and time again he does not have the brain power to be one. Lets face it he is probably barely a high school grad if he is lucky. You can’t take away his natural ability but as a QB you can’t just count on your ability. If he gets a chance to come back to the league which I hope he does he needs to look at Hines Ward and go in that direction. And what happen to the dream of Martin Luthur King that he wanted a color blind society. I am sure I will be tagged as a Vick Hater and a Black Hater because I speak the truth.

I can honestly say that I have no hard feelings toward the team for this round of cuts. I think they’re trying to ease us into the next wave that will likely include Brooking and Dunn amongst the rest of the fringe players. As anyone that watches the NFL these days knows that the league is a younger mans game now.The guys are faster and bigger coming out of college so there’s really no need to “groom” them into pro shape. So by the age of 32 or 33 you’re almost too slow to compete with those guys. There’s always the few exceptions but as a whole you can understand the front offices feelings on payment for production ratio.I hope they at least cut the guys before the free agent signing period starts to give them all a fair shake at landing on a new team somewhere.

We all new the cuts were coming, the question was when and who. Crumpler does not come as a surprise concidering the amount of time lost due to ailing knees, Colman was a little bit of a surprise after all the production he has giving except for last year. Maybe they knew something about his injury that we didn’t. Byron and Grandy were a no brainer. It’s going to be interesting to see where they make their next cuts.

I love what the Falcons are doing. I hate to see Alge and Rod go, but I’d rather win without them than lose with them. The other five were worthless bums. No big deal there.
As for the QB situation, we should take Matt Ryan if he’s available when our selection comes up. Otherwise, trade a draft pick to the Bills for J.P Losman, draft the best available QB in the second round (I really like Joe Flacco from Delaware) to groom for the future, keep Joey Harrington as a backup and trade Chris Redman for a draft pick while his stock is as high as it will likely ever be.
Cut Warrick Dunn (I love the guy but 33-year old backs just don’t get it done in the NFL) and sign Michael Turner to team with Jerious Norwood. Beef up the O-line through the draft and trades, if possible.

3.Finally to football…Najeh is right, most of the guys we’ve talked about made some good contributions. Warrick will go down as my 2nd favorite falcon (behind Tuggle of course) but he just can’t break the tackles anymore. If the hole isnt there, the arm tackles bring him down.
I say trade D-Hall…this is why: He is a good player but this will be his last year, I doubt seriously he will get an extension at the amount he will want, and I do not believe he is worth what he will try to get. Trade him for another pick.
D-Hall is not the best player on this team, John Abraham is. If we get some beef on the interior D-line, Abraham will destroy O-lines.
6.If Jake Long is avail. at 3,4,5(whatever we get) TAKE HIM. If not, go for Dorsey or McFadden.
7.All you falcons bashers…only ONE team wins the Superbowl every year, the rest are just as frustrated as us. Be thankful we have an owner that looks like he can learn from his mistakes.

Where are you guys getting your information? Why do these “fans” think that Brookings needs to be retained because he is such a great leader. Have you ever seen the defense rally around Brooking? NO!!! That’s because they all realize what he is….an overpaid, local boy who has never made a game-changing impactful play in his entire career, yet is the 3rd highest paid LB in the NFL. Urlacher, R. Lewis, T. Spikes come to mind as REAL LB’s worthy of praise. There are at least 20 in the NFL and Brooking is not one. As long as the Falcons hold on to him, true fans will know they are not committed to winning, no matter who the GM, coach or owner is. He should have been the 1st cut…so as to signal to the real fan base that the new front office/coach is committed creating a winning atmosphere in Flowery Branch.

It is SO obvious that Blank is still calling the shots. How in the world can they justify keeping dunn and his 5 million dollar salary? Not only has his production fallen off a cliff, he is no longer a good scheme fit with this new staff. And don’t even get me started on brooking and his high salary and overrated A$$. I stated when Dimitroff was hired, if brooking and dunn were not cut that Blank was still in complete control of this team. And what do you know? It just so happens that two of blank’s favorite players happen to be among the most overpaid/ unproductive on the entire team and they are spared. What does that tell you folks? Dimitroff is a freakin puppet boy just like mckay was when he was GM.

I have a feeling that Dunn and Horn will be shown the door. Brooking may get a reprieve, if only because he’s white. (I’m joking.) Anyway, the Falcons need to get most of the higher-priced underachievers off the roster. Milloy will probably stay because Dimitroff is familiar with him from New England. The Falcons will probably add a few players from the Pats and Jags this offseason, so we might want to take a look at some of their possible cuts/free agents.
Beyond that, the Falcons have to rebuild the lines. That will be done mostly through the draft. I sincerely hope that Dimitroff and Smith will be allowed to do their thing WITHOUT PRESSURE FROM BLANK. I’d rather they succeed or fail on their own merits, not because of some meddling owner.

Sorry to see Crumpler go, but it looked like he “lost that loving feeling” playing for the Falcons. Now he will catch every ball in sight. Now noD-Hall is another matter. His buddy, Prime Time, has surely told him to go somewhere else where he can show how great he is. This is what P.T. did. No-D-Hall may be a great athlete, but I did not see any tight coverage, only a lot of catches in front of him, and he mostly came in at the end of the pile. He’s not going to get hurt playing for the Falcons. Too bad Dunn takes so much cap. Hope they find a way to keep Redman. Surely the Falcons are on life-support and need help.

Alge Crumpler is a class act. Coleman is also. There is no loyalty in sports franchises. They’re going to let Brooking go too it looks like.
That’s like burying a knife in the heart of every fan. Brooking is from East Coweta High, a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket and a No. 1 draft choice that actually panned out.
It’s like cutting Tommy Nobis, Big Jim Mitchell, Cannonball Butler and Jeff Van Note all rolled into one.
They haven’t come out and said one word about how they’re shaping the franchise. They just pulled the string on an empty parachute.
It’s a free fall and no one is there to catch the fans when it all comes tumbling down.
I’m through with this franchise. I’ve been a Falcons fan come hell or high water since Tommy Nobis was drafted No. 1 out of the University of Texas. But, you know what, I’m tired of watching this pathetic crew walk through the pasture and step in every pile in the whole field.
Go ahead, blow up the team. You’ll have 10,000 empty seats for every fan favorite that you cut.
So long Arthur. I sure hope you don’t buy the Braves.

I told my friends weeks ago the Falcons would cut links to the African American fan base. Its a stategy now to have every excuse and resaon in the world to build a new stadium in Hall county. They will bite the bullet for the next few years and realign the fan base to make that move. Blank is extremely calculating and by hiring a bunch of no name front office folks, loading the roster with Arena league type personnel, the franchise will bottom out as planned. Then he can either A sell team to LA and recoup all his losses or B get that new stadium up I-85 and start fresh with a different fan base. No way Vick plays for this team again, wouldn’t be good for his career and why bother with the slick and shrewd AB in charge.

I’m not saying that some changes should not have been made, but why are the falcons depending on free agents as replacements, and why was Joey Harington spared. This guy has to be the most sorry QB in all of football. I guess this pitiful white boy was spared simply bechause of the color of his skin, because we all know that no one in the NFL would dare pick him up. Atlanta will never have a great team, because they are a micromanaged organization that does not like to spend money. The team is just as sorry as the city. No one wants to coach or live in Atlanta. For a brief moment he will know how it feels to be unemployed like most of his father’s side of the family whom he doesn’t give a damn about or claim. The very one’s who have cared, loved, and helped him from childhood through ECU. 10 yrs. in the NFL, the least you can do is put a roof on your grandmother’s home to stop it from raining in the house and pay for her medication for the rest of her life which is only about $1k a year. White fan base is running from the falcon. The Falcon must have 35% to 54% white fans and 40% to 60% black fan base to keep this team in Georgia if it stays like it is now and why?
one if you win it don’t matter but that the problem. This city love Vick and Blank know it. If they don’t win the dome is empty and if he does not have Vick the dome is empty.
In 1998 when the team went the super bowl the dome was packed two year later empty then came vick. Blank has a problem Blacks love pro football more than whites. White love college football more. For Blank he is going to have to deal with this to win but he must use wisdom.
There is only three other team that has a fan base close to Atlanta it’s the redskins, the ravan, and Oakland. and Atlanta is the only fan base to this date that has a hi percent of black fan base only atlanta.
Now blank has a problem if he want to make money. How do you keep your fan base happy? Just win!!!! and to be real that’s any fan base!!

MARK-you lost DAVID PUKE the moment you said “BE A MAN”. It’s like asking a pussycat to change her spots.
MANNY-cutting Crumpler means the TE position will likely not be a focal part of the passing OFF. It appears they will do like a lot of other teams are doing. They use the TE primarily as a blocker and switch to multiple WR sets in obvious passing situations. That approach would provide more blocking for a power rushing OFF.
I’m not so sure we will have a losing team next yr. This coach and GM might be up to something good. It looks like mgt is going to use free agency to restock the OL & DL with vets. Add a quality LT snd RG through FA and the OL will be tight. That’s the key element in a power rushing OFF. Sign a FA Dlineman, MLB and possibly a safety and you have the makings of a solid DEF. Then we use our 9 draft picks to complete the roster.
With an actual pass rush, a real MLB and good safety play, we’ll have a solid DEF. Add quality OLinemen that are suited to playing in a power OFF, and we’ll have the foundation for a good OFF.

Cut the remainder of the “End Zone” trio…Crumpler, White, and Hall. Those three knuckleheads who displayed/praised the #7 jersey in the end zone last season during a home game must go. Any team member who blatantly praises a convicted felon and serial liar does not need to be on this team. It is time to restore some dignity to this team.

That’s all and well…but, when are they gonna really cut the real money hogs—who are wayyy past their prime—like Dunn, Brooking, Finneran, and Milloy? Alge was injury proned and starting to fall off, as was Coleman (at his own doing), Forney is really a zone blocking guy, and the rest of the seven didn’t do too much to standout. If Dimitroff is going to make changes for the better and save the team money by releasing those eating the bulk of our salary caps each year—and you can find equal talent at those positions in FA/Draft—then why are those I mentioned still here? I hope the more cuts we continue to hear about includes these guys.

Why couldn’t we at least trade Coleman and Alge?? The Falcons have to decide to draft Ryan, or McFadden…pending on that damn coin flip, which could ruin the draft order. At the very least they could have gotten a 3rd or 4th rounder for crump and rod.

It’s so obvious that those of you calling for D-Hall to be released are motivated by non-football related issues (see his association w/ Crumpler & White…I won’t even go there). If you honestly think that replacing D-Hall should be priority, you know nothing about football! I know, you’d rather keep the “high-character” Brooking. Anyone notice how non-existent Brooking was when it came to the interior of our defense? Oh, that’s right, I DID notice him…when he was being dragged for 5 yards by big RB’s!

Mark, there are lots of people I don’t care for. I don’t like punks, chumps, peckerwoods, sapsuckers, morons, idiots, fruitcakes, simpletons, dope dealers, thieves, murderers, wife beaters, scumbags or nincompoops of any racial heritage. For instance, Ken Strychnine, a kneegro, is objectionable due to his punkishness, chumpishness, peckerwoodiness, sapsuckerisness, moronic, idiotic, simpleton persona. Most offensive is his projection of his latent gayness onto others. He, however, is not alone. There are lots of whites I don’t care for. I do like people of good character and I don’t necessarily look upon color as an indicator of what their character might be. That being said, it’s apparent that many of today’s athletes, mainly black, have adopted the ‘thug life’ mentality popularized and articulated by the late Tupac Shakur. Like Shakur, himself a murder victim, many of these athletes are paying a price for the choices they’ve made. Mike Vick, Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones, as well as others, have put themselves into the path of law enforcement. It is altogether fitting, proper and predictable that these people, advocating living outside the law, would come into close contact with the judicial system of the United States. Much of the attitude, swagger and disdain for people, other than one’s self, comes from hi-hop music and the videos that accompany this narcissistic noise. Just yesterday, I had a confrontation with an adherent of this nihilist garbage. I was driving through a parking lot when a car backed out of a parking space and rocketed to the other side. I almost crashed into him. When he got out of the car, I told him he had almost caused an accident. He gave me some arrogant comment and went into a restaurant. I parked my car and went into the restaurant and confronted him. He starts talking in ghetto vernacular and I invited him outside to discuss it in a more personal way. He didn’t want to go. He was there, at the restaurant, to meet his peeps but they hadn’t arrived before him. He crawled his cowardly a* off to the back and kept his ignorant mouth shut. He was white! He was also a whigger who mistakes the produced, fictional videos he sees for documentaries. This guy was emblematic of what is wrong in the nation today. There is a sizeable contingent of the population who embrace this music, its lifestyle and the criminality it presents as acceptable. Most of them are white! The perpetrators of this false representation of what life should be are black and they make loads of money from this apostasy. Ultimately, however, the most money made from this disgusting mess accrues to white executives and their record companies. Once again, it’s black exploitation by the white man, to a large extent, that we have to thank for foisting this junk upon the world.
As for athletes, look at the company they keep, the way they decorate themselves, their demeanor on and off the field or court, the way they speak and the things they seem to hold dear. It’s all about bling, personal accomplishments and respect. They all talk about being disrespected and revenge upon those they perceive to have disrespected them. It’s hilarious! Most of them can’t speak proper English. That includes white players such as Jayson Williams. Ignorance really doesn’t call any particular race home. There are lots of black players who are good people and who live within the mores of society. One of the nicest things I’ve ever seen was done by Reggie Sanders. A foul ball was hit into the stands and a grown, white, over-sized bumpkin bowled over a four year old boy to get it. The crowd booed this idiot when he refused to give the ball to the boy. Hell, he wasn’t even man enough to apologize to the boy or his parents. Reggie saw what had happened, on the jumbotron, and came out and gave the little boy, who was white, a bat, an autographed baseball and a glove. I will forever admire Reggie for his kindness and for the person he is. He’s a good guy! We could use more good guys in the world, black and white.

Vick was not suspended for four games! The Falcons, when the dog fighting charges were brought, were going to suspend him for the maximum available to them, which was four games. It was then that Goodell stepped in, told them not to suspend him and then he suspended him indefinitely. Once he is released from incarceration, and applies for re-admittance to the league, his suspension will become a definite period of time. When he is cleared to return, he will, in all probability, receive a one year suspension to be served from that point. Of course, that point won’t come into play for quite some time to come. He has to finish out his Federal sentence and his day in court in Virginia comes soon, where he could receive many more years of imprisonment. When all is said and done, I would be surprised if Vick doesn’t miss five or six years of playing time in the NFL. Realistically, his career is over!

Wow, someone just wasted a lot of space trying to convince the world that they’re not a racist. LOL. Anywho, back to football…Mark, why don’t you ask the commentators that continue to refer to D-Hall as a shutdown corner & all the QB’s that refuse to throw to his side of the field if they’re blind? Besides Abraham, name any other player on the defensive side of the ball with D-Hall’s game-changing ability? I know you want to talk about his “attitude” (how dare certain athletes consider themselves great right? LOL), but FROM A FOOTBALL PERSPECTIVE I’m really curious to know who else you consider a “must-go?”

Did anyone notice that despite the lengthy ramblings of our resident little tight end DAVID PUKE/TITO(know what I mean), she didn’t mention any MEN she didn’t like. Her hatred is of hemself and she suffers from self loathing, but projects it outwardly. She hates everyone that’s unlike her, which is why she attacks everyone. Since “BLACK” “MEN” are the most unlike her, sheit directs most of her inward anger and self hatred towards us. (SH)e,(IT) has a special problem with me. (SH)e,(IT) can’t match my whit and intelligence, nor even identify with my manhood. Just ignore the ramblings of the little Scarab(dung)beetle(an insect possessing both sexes).
MARK-the players and coaches that have played and coached against DHall say you are a know nothing lier. They proved that by voting him to multiple Probowls. Who should intelligent individuals believe. A disgruntled fan, or players and coaches with 1st hand on field knowledge of what he can do and has done.
The Falcons released Crumpler and Coleman, instead of trading them, because they wanted to clear cap space so they can sign FA’s. How do you expect to clear cap space by trading one player and his contract for another player and his contract?
Clowns like MARK AND DAVID PUKE/TITO THE TEDDY BEAR seem to think good grammar, diction and a vocabulary will compensate for their inability to formulate and intelligent thought and/or idea. These clowns focus on things like grammar, diction and spelling rather than addressing the content of the massage, no matter how it’s presented. They, on the other hand, want you to focus on their presentation and ignore the fact their just presenting mindless dribble.

WOW, I really get your panties in a twist don’t I cupcake. People, remember my last comment about how clowns like MARK and PUKE/TITO are obcessed with using grammar or spelling to avoid dealing with intelligent issues? These fools can’t converse with anyone unless they make themselves feel superior. They accomplish this by leveling negative attacks against those they single out. They call anyone that disagrees with them names designed to question their intelligence. That way they can feel superior, thus satisfying their inferiority complex.
Tell me, which one would you consider intelligent. Someone who says something intelligent and rational, but uses incorrect grammar and/or spelling to do so. Or, someone who uses correct grammar and spelling while offering absolutely nothing intelligent and rational. These are the types of intellectual midgets that caused the creation of the phrase EDUCATED FOOLS.
These punks demonstrate that being educated doesn’t automatically indicate intelligence. And yes, David Puke is a racist. First, look at the name he chose. Secondly, you have never seen her correct the grammar or spelling of any individual making racist comments, like JOE BRAVE. She’s never attacked him even though his grammar and is usually atrocious.
Well, at least the little strawberry has stuck to using one name. Last yr she used multiple names to spew her racist trash. THIS IS ONE SICK LITTLE MONKEY.

The only thing more pathetic than the Atlanta Falcons is this blog. For any serious Falcons Fans that may be left, its time to WAKE UP and smell the coffee. I did in the 1990’s when Atlanta hired June Jones as the head coach. My second and final wake up call was the hiring of Jim Mora Jr. The Atlanta Falcons are perennial losers. Have been, is and from the ongoing actions will continue to be Losers. Michael Vick gave instant credibility to this team just like Herschel Walker did for the USFL. Mr. Vick is gone and if he’s smart will never come back. One man does not make a team or a league as in Mr. Walker’s case. How the Atlanta Falcons could cut Alge Crumpler “for injury” reasons and keep Brian Finneran is beyond logic and further proof that this team is headed nowhere fast. Per the Falcons news brief, “Crumpler went to four straight Pro Bowls leading into the 2007 season and led the team with 56 receptions for 780 yards in 2006. He is the only Falcons tight end to lead the team in receiving yards and receptions for three straight seasons.” If you don’t want to win this is definitely a guy that you would want to cut when the rest of the receivers have been “suspect” at best. In addition to a lack of talent on the field, Atlanta now lack experience at the General Manager and Head Coach positions. I will predict that Mr. Blank will put the franchise on the market after another dismal season (this year). By the way, what relevance does having thick lips have on intelligence? The last time I checked George W. Bush has thin lips which would mean that intelligence is inversely proportional to the thickness of lips. For those that need help with this that would mean Thin lips = ignorance. I’m not subscribing to this, just can’t believe the depth of ignorance that some of the bloggers have sunk to. END OF FOOTBALL POST YOU MAY RETURN BACK TO FIGHTING THE CIVIL WAR, GAY BASHING AND OTHER RACIST AMUSEMENT.

You know what is entertaining? Winning, acting like you have been there before, and being of High Moral character. Mr. Hall shutting his mouth and doing his job. I agree that convict #7 should have the support of his friends but not in the manner these morons did it. go see him in prison, help him to become a better man. Not just say free the man. The Falcons did the right thing by cutting Crumpler and Coleman, both deadbeats who were underachieving. By freeing up some cap space, the Falcons may have more money to give Michael Vick when he eventually finishes his jail sentence, so if Vick hadnt been cut before his return, Vick can go back in at qb and continue his assualt on the record books for rushing quarterbacks. Yeah, after all it looks like the money will go to #7 after all.

And anyone who thinks that Vick will ever wear a Falcon uniform again needs to step away from the crack pipe. He has another trial to attend with probable more jail time. COUNTRYDOG-I want you to come back to reality and try using rational thought for once. Who do you think was responsible for having MC Hammer on the sidelines? It was Falcons HC Jerry Glanville and team owner Rankin Smith. Do you think MC Hammer, or any other individual, could have gotten access to the sidelines without their approval?
There are so many of you clowns that start out by declaring your comments aren’t about race. Yet, that’s exactly what it ends up being about. This “NEGRO PLEASE” crap is an example. I didn’t know Rankin Smith and Jerry Glanville considered themselves negroes.
I’m still trying to figure out exactly why so many of you feel the need to express such hatred for MVick. You seem to have this unyelding need to vilify him long after the fact. Some of you pretend to be outraged because he lied about his involvement. Yet, where is your outrage at George Bush for lying to congress, the nation and the world about Iraq? Two separate independent studies were released last month that showed Bush made 259 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and about Iraq’s links to al-Qaida. That was just to get us involved in the war. All told, GBush, CRice, DCheney, DRumsfeld, CPowell, PWolfowitz, and AFleischer have been documented as having made a total of 935 false statements in a 2yr period concerning the war alone. Compare the number of dogs killed and injured because of Vick and his associates actions to the number of HUMANS killed and injured because of Bush and his associates lies. Yet, you lie to yourselves and anyone stupid enough to listen that race has nothing to do with it.
Others pretend their continued outrage towards Vick is do to their love of those dogs. Yet, where is the outrage when we discover a serial killer, serial bomber, child molesters, teen and preteen mass murders in our community? Do you not love children and human life at least as much? Do you still insist race has nothing to do with this disparity in your concern and response?
It’s not the MVicks that are the biggest problem within our society. It’s morons with personal issues and narrowly focused perspectives. It’s also morons that trivialize and/or ignore truely major concerns and use personal bias’ as an excuse to focus on lesser concerns.

If you cut all the white players, then we’d have no team because most of the team would be in jail. That’s why we have white coaches to make decisions. Blacks can’t run anything but their mouths.

DeAngelo Hall should be the next guy to get cut. Hall is a disgrace to the Falcons. He has a big mouth, big head and a small game to match. Hall will never be anything more than a cancer in the locker room that will spread thoughout the very fiber of the Falcons team. Look at what DeAngelo Halls impact did to Bobby Petrino. Bobby couldnt take it any more so he had to quit so that Petrino could coach pigsui insead. Hall should be cut as early as yesterday so as to give the Falcons a fighting chance to be respectable after getting rid of some excess fat (Crumpler and Coleman) on the team.

I couldn’t agree more. He’s more trouble than he’s worth. I think that’s the Falcons intentions. Drop the nogs with attitudes which only dampers the team’s efforts. I predict Hall gone by the end of the week.

OK Mr. Strickland. First I want to apologize for the Negro please in my last post. I was wrong. Now let me clarify my position. The Glanville era was a joke and it made me ashamed. It was truly the beginning of the further descent of an already lowly franchise. June Jones is a good man but is too attached to the run and shoot style. He also should have cut Jeff George immediately after the blow up on the sidelines in 1995. Then came Dan Reeves who is a fine man and coach. He became to enamored with Mv7. MV7 was one of the best athletes the NFL has ever seen but I was never convinced he was an above average QB. As far as vilifying him goes, I did not make him a convict. He did that himself. I refuse to understand why the African American community feels the need to ignore the facts concerning the wrong doing of any of its own. (Vick, OJ, etc) and claim that some how it is about the white people trying to incarcerate another brother. But lets keep this blog about football. Here is my stance on the Falcons roster. keep Dunn and Brooking if they will take a pay cut and utilize them as role models for younger players on and off the field. Have a one on one with all of the remaining Mike Vick supporters and make it clear That they should stand by Mr Vick, but not in the manner in which they did. As I said before. Visit him, pray for him, go to counseling with him, help Mr Vick become a better man. On the playing field each member of the organization must be about the business at hand. I believe we can have a truly southern fan base which means Black, White, and all other races cheering together. I was and still am a Crumpler and Coleman fan. The only players I want to be rid of are Hall, Williams, and Vick. and if Hall and Williams straighten up there acts, I will welcome the back also. As far as the President Bush stuff goes, This is not the blog for that discussion.
