Images from a wild weekend

The sight of Terrell Owens crying at the press conference following Dallas’ loss to the Giants Sunday capped an interesting weekend of images from the NFL Divisional Playoffs.

It began Saturday with Brett Favre tossing passes - and snowballs - and Ryan Grant navigating through the snow as the Packers defeated Seattle. Tom Brady followed with a near-perfect passing performance as the Patriots won again, defeating Jacksonville for their 17th straight win.

There were several heroes in San Diego’s win over the Colts Sunday. Billy Volek came off the bench to direct the eventual game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. Michael Turner subbed for an injured LaDanian Tomlinson.

Then there was the image of Peyton Manning grimacing after his final pass to Dallas Clark fell incomplete. And injured Chargers QB Phillip Rivers trash-talking with a Colts fan after the outcome was secured.

Last, but not least, the Cowboys became the first No. 1 seed to lose since the league went to its current playoff format 18 years ago. The post-game focus might have been on T.O., but the Giants’ defense and the efficient play of QB Eli Manning were the keys during the game.

What did you remember most about the weekend? Were you surprised at any of the outcomes? Who do you like in the conference championship games?

Let us know what you think.

I admire TO’s emotion and defense of his quarterback. This is certainly preferable to players sitting on the bench laughing and shooting the shinola about what they are going to be doing during the off-season. Sound familiar? TO is a great talent and his tears don’t show weakness, they show he is a caring man!

Hey T.O.- “THERE’S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL” ROFL

Outside of that pathetic display, there was some great football out there this weekend. From watching the Packers fall back on the heels to begin that game to come roaring back to watching the Giants upset the Cowgirls. Even the Patriots/Jags games was good. The Chargers and Colts was a good one too. I just wonder one thing, why is Philip Rivers so angry? Dude is doing his best to win the “no class azz” award. That display at the end of the game was lame. And people saying they like that kind of passion are lame too. People thinking its hip and cool to say they like a guy like that are full of it. Do they teach their kids to be jerks like that? It’s one thing to have passion, but when you have it w/o having class and respect for the game and the fans and yourself for that matter, you are an idiot. Now I see why L Tominlinson does’t like him, he’s a tool. To be braggin like that when you up, until this game, hadn’t done ANYTHING, is moronic. And here it is I thought the biggest nimrod at QB the Bolts ever had was Ryan Leaf, Rivers now owns that title all alone. Good games in all though, nice action. These conference title games should be as equally good!

Tony Romo should have been in Dallas working on his game and the game plan for New York. Would Troy Akman, Britt Farve, Tom Bradly or any other QB in the running for a trip to the Super Bowl been in Mexico? The blame is squarely on Romo’s shoulders.

AS MUCH AS I ENJOYED SEEING THE COWBOYS LOSE, I AGREE IF ROMEO BOY WPULD SPEND LESS TIME WITH HIS RICH BLONDES AND MORE TIME FOCUSING ON HIS JOB, MAYBE THE RESULTS WOULD BE DIFFERENT. HE IS THE MOST OVERRATED Q.B. IN THE GAME

T.O. truly exposed himself for the b*** that he is. He has publicly insulted every quarterback he’s had and now wants to cry in defense of Tony Rom-ho. Gimme a break!
