Dawgs are not as good as the true diehards think. But Tech is, year after year,a very poor team.
That includes the D. It has been many years since they brought anything to the table.
It seems they come up with one playmaker per season.
Georgia in a blowout.

stafford doesnt throw the ball as well as people think. if bennent has any passing game, i think techs defense will make plays and hold ugas offense. uga wont be able to run the ball, and if tech gets pressure on the qb then they wont be able to do much. it all comes down to defense for tech.

Hey gregocracker, where have you been the last 3 years, the moon? For the last 3 years TECH has been 1 play from winning or tying inside the 2 minute mark and they bring nothing to the table? If that’s true, what’s Ugag bringing to the table, saltine crackers?

UGA with all its “parade all-americans” has barely won the past three years. Your day of reckoning is coming. No SEC championship. No BCS bowl. You have a good solid team but nothing more. You haven’t been in the same class with S. Cal., Ohio State, LSU or Texas in spite of all the great recruiting classes. I wonder why?

I may eat crow for this (doubt it) but UGA game plan is simple. Focus on stopping Choice and put the game to be won or lost on Bennett. Me thinks the latter will be the case. Also, I believe if UGA comes out and manages to get an early 10+ point lead that Tech will packup the tent. I have visions of a role reversal when in the UGA-Tech game 2000 in Athens when Donnan had lost the team, and basically his job this time it’s Gailey.

Wrecker, Georgia is a top twenty team most years. Not a top five team, not a NT contender, but not a lame, poorly coached, mess like Tech.
Tech could not win once against Ga, in the last three years and the dawgs were not all that good.
That is because they are not a very good team.

Techs defense is the key, as Ryan said. But Techs defense in not good. May look good somtimes against Duke or some other ACC team, but it is not like a middle of the road SEC defense.
It is, and has been, overrated by Tech fans.

I put up this response to Mr Bogg’s Tech blog, albeit a bit late. Items italicized are Mr Bogg’s quotes. These are responses to his claims:
Mark my Words
Come Sat night/ Sunday…this blog will be lit up with disgruntled Tech fans, wanting Chan’s head on a platter. Mr Boggs will pull his normal hiatus he takes after a loss, but this one will be longer b/c it pains him to lose to UGA, it will eat at him in his sleep, at his job, and at the dinner table. All you tech grads know your statistics, and as you know, you can alter/arrange stats to make them more favorable for your cause. Company’s, organizations, etc, all do this, and this is what Mr Boggs has done to pull the wool over your eyes.
Let’s take a look
The Jackets have won 4 of their last 5 games
Let’s take a look at those games: Miami, Army, VT -you got waxed, Duke, UNC. If that is not a cupcake schedule, then Gailey does not wear depends.
Stafford went 12 of 22 for 99 yards and 2 INTs against Kentucky last weekend. He amassed a monstrous 99 yards through the air.Comparatively, Taylor Bennett went 13 of 24 for 196 yards and a touchdown
As I said earlier, stats can be used and construed in many ways. I will give Mr Boggs that Stafford had a pi$$ poor game, but can he pull up the numbers he had against UF, 11/18 217 12.1 3 1 Auburn 11/19 237 12.5 2 1, Troy 17/29 217 7.5 2 1 , all recent games. The analyst was correct. All good QB’s have a bunk game every once in while i.e Peyton Mannig vs NE and Miami Dolphins. I won’t get into TinkyWinky Taylor b/c even the Tech fans know how awful he is. Anyone can put up big numbers against Dukie and Army. He peaked in the Gator Bowl last year.
GT has the edge on the offensive line and at running back. (Yes…Tashard Choice is better than Knowshon Moreno, even hobbled and playing hurt
I give respect to Choice, and take nothing from his running game or veteran presence. Although knowshon is a freshman, he has the impact and leadership of a Veteran RB. His play and attitude rubs off on everyone and it shows. He helps WIN big football games. TC puts forth the same effort and leadership, but not everyone gets into it. He looks like he is almost doing it alone. When Knowshon steps it up, Stafford shines. When TC steps it up, Taylor dresses up like a telletubbie.
On the Defenses This is what worries me most. But you guys have not played a high powered offense yet, and VT lit you up on the scoreboard, and they are not that much of an offensive powerhouse. But the blitz-package will either make or brake you, and it all depends on how Bobo prepared for it.
And mr Boggs forgot the most important element coaching
That is all I have to say
Good luck to everyone, have a safe and fun weekend
GO DAWGS!!

Ga. Dog: while it’s true that I only played one year of high school football (I was a basketball and baseball guy), I coached football in H.S. at St.Pius (under the GT great George Maloof) and at Crestwood in North Fulton under Reece Hefner. I called thousands of plays in my ten years. Your qualifications to criticize? You stood on the sidelines in podunk is my guess.

I respect Tech, and have many close friends who are alumni of the North Ave Trade School, but as my previous post is reflecting…UGA will win.
If UGA loses, I will be man enough come Sunday, and eat crow.
But I feel that Mr Boggs will be entertaining a crow BBQ after the hangover he will have when Knowshon and co. coming rolling through Bobby Dodd on Sat.

I have no doubt that GA would go in over 1 loss Kansas with the push from the SECC. GO DAWGS!!!!

I would love nothing else more than to make a logical argument on here about football and the game tomorrow, but ultimately you can’t argue with stupid. Still, I will attempt to…
Gregocracker, Tech is year after year a poor team? While they have not had the success UGA has recently, the last three years’ games have been decided by 6, 7, and 3 points. You said Tech couldn’t win those three years and UGA was not all that good. I remember, even as a Tech fan, that in 2005 UGA won the SEC Championship. Oh, I forgot ya’ll weren’t all that good and we only lost by 6. Also, I’m not even going to acknowledge you saying that Tech’s D hasn’t brought anything to the table in many years. You can’t be talking about the Tech D that has held UGA to a combined four offensive touchdowns the last 3 years. Yeah, Tech’s D did look good against Duke. What about the Clemson game though? Clemson is averaging right at 400 yards of offense a game with Cullen Harper (of Sequoyah High in Canton) at QB, who is leading the nation in Pass Efficiency and two stud running backs in James Davis (also a Georgia Prep star) and CJ Spiller who were held to a combined 62 yards rushing and a whopping total of 3 points against tech. While three is high in comparison to the number of teeth you have, it’s not a high number on the football field.
ga dog, you sir(or ma’am) are a prime example of why many people cannot stand UGA fans. Not just Tech fans, but fans throughout the country. You just make ludicrous, delusional statements such as “he dawgs are in a class above texas, sou cal and ohio state”. In the past five years, all three of those teams has won a national championship. How rough 27 years must be? As I am a student at Tech, I have many friends who go to UGA and know that not everyone that comes out of that school is a bad person or someone I shouldn’t like. There are even UGA fans I know that didn’t go to the school who are good, solid, tolerable fans. However, statements like those you make wrongfully taint the reputation of the dedicated fans and alumni from Georgia.
I wish so much that more posters could be like QuailDawg or CruiserSikes. I applaud people who not only support there team, but do it in a manner that is smart/polite and not ignorant/delusional.
I think saturday’s game will be close, good, and very emotional on both sides. With that said, I believe that Tech finds a way to pull out the game behind a determined Tashard Choice with a score of 13-10 or in that close, low-scoring ballpark.Just my opinion, but I do expect within minutest to tell me we don’t belong on the same field with the Dogs, but I’ve heard so much along those lines the past 6 years it’s just kind of like white noise now.
Here’s to no injuries and great game. Everyone be safe in their travels the rest of the week and TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!

The weather may play a small factor with the gusting winds of 15-20 mph. That could mess with the passing game and the special teams. If if comes down to a running match and special teams especially, Brooks and Bell give Tech an obvious edge. The jackets will end all of the nonsense talk about UGA in the BCS national championship. TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!

This game scares me . Georgia does have a tendency to play to the level of its competition. But having said that, I still think the Dawgs win! The key will be the play of Stafford. If he is hot we win big. The deep ball and throwes to the tight end will be will set the tone. The problem is that I think Georgia needs to win big in order for it to be helpful for us with the BCS. I don’t think that a close win is enough for us. Hopefully, I’m wrong. But right now I see a big Dawg win.

Know nothing- Just having fun dude.I like the dawgs, but the outcome of a football game between dozens of twenty-somthings I will never meet will not impact my life in any meaningfull way.
It is fun to stir up the rabid fans and get an emotional response like the one you posted.
Your post was long and dull. You should go straight for teeth jokes, backhhanded compliments praising the few nice dog fans you have met, and tossing around words like ignorant, delusional, ect.
At the risk of writing a novel length post ha ha here is the bottom line.
You are an overexcited kid.I am a bored dude with a computer.BUT:
I was the first to post.I am the better man.The football team I like will beat the team you like. I will sit at the right hand of the lord. You will be cast into a lake of fire.

Georgia Tech really is a joke on every level. Georgia is their biggest game of the year, while Tech is Georgia’s 3rd or 4th biggest game. Georgia doesn’t even get that fired up for Tech and they beat them every year.

Maybe to a retard, the Tech game is the 3rd or 4th biggest game to us. I don’t know how long you’ve been a fan AC, but I’ve always had Tech marked on the calendar. True, the Florida game is pretty big, and usually more important on the national scale, but the Tech game is what ultimately defines the season.

Holy Crap!!! The GT game has doubled in magnitude for UGA within the last 24 hrs. The DAWGS better treat this game as one of the most critical in the history of the program.
I don’t know why the GT fans are so confident. They better make sure their arms are rested and they bring the white towels to the game. Tomorrow, GT faces the most talented, hottest UGA team they’ve played since 1982.

It’s funny that some of the bulldog fans say that Tech is the third or fourth biggest game of the year however according to Dooley Tech is the biggest rival for the bulldogs. So who is right? Anyhow, all we Tech fans can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If they win they win, which I hope they do. If they don’t they don’t and life goes on. Should be a good game.

Hey By SATXdawg,
That’s not true, the 2002 UGA Team was a stronger team; a team that could have handily won the National Championship if given a shot - unfortunately a 1-loss team did not get an invite and we stumbled against UF. That’s why the UF game is always bigger, they usually define who is a conference champ and that year kept us out of the NC. We beat Tech 51-7 that year too…
