Falcons ticket prices going up

Owner Arthur Blank confirmed Wednesday what had been expected for several weeks — the Falcons will be raising ticket prices for 2007 home games.

He wouldn’t reveal any details, which may be released later in the week, but said the increases were to get closer to the NFL average.

What do you think? Are the Falcons, with a new coach and supposedly new way of doing business, worth the additional money? Are you prepared to pony up some extra cash to watch Petrino Ball?

Or does this team still have to show you that it’s worth what you’re paying to see it play before you’ll be convinced?

Let me say all the good will of hiring Coach Petrino has generated has just disappeared!

Last season we were told our season tickets were going up to get us in line with the NFL average. After the increase it was declared we were now “in line.” Let me say this is a load of bull! Ticket prices go up, wins go down. The product is NOT in line with prices. Put quality results on the field and you will never hear me complain. Quality = Winning BTW But right now you are charging me for a Hummer and all I’m getting is a Saturn!

I know you will say I have a choice as to whether or not renew my tickets, and you would be right. Here’s what I will tell you. I will renew my tickets, and I will sell enough of them to pay for my season. I don’t care anymore if the Dome is full of Saints, Panthers, Bucs, 49ers, Seahawks, Texans, Colts, or Giants jersey’s and fans! In the past I have ALWAYS sold any extra ticket I might have to another Falcon fan. Since you care so little about me and the product I receive, it’s now up to me to look after myself in this matter.

Two straight years of under-whelming performance, and they keep raising ticket prices?

Maybe they should go the route of the Hawks and offer a refund if they don’t make the playoffs.

Or they could go the route of the Hawks and get the heck out of town. Lousy birds…..

I say, until they can play at the NFL level week in and week out, they should leave the prices alone. Why pay NFL prices to see a team that plays closer to college level. Sorry Mr. Blank, but I won’t be renewing my season ticket package this year.

Brilliant Idea…new coach, new interest in the team. I’d pay the extra cash to watch the new team get on its feet. All they need is new leadership, they already have great people in the positions. Because I live in Hawaii, I already watch every game on satellite TV, but again, I’d pay extra to see them live more than the one time a year when I fly home for vacation.

If the Falcons will get in line with the talent of the rest of the NFL then maybe people will pay the average ticket price. But when you have the 10th pick in the draft, you’re at the bottom of the NFL in talent.

After the last two 2nd half performances. They should be dropping ticket prices. Let me tell you this, I am going to renew my tickets. I am with Falcon. My tickets will be on stubhub.com. I love the Falcons, but I really don’t want to go watch the ohter team fans celebrate a win on our homefield.

PS. Mr McKay please draft some quality. It made me sick to watch Reggie Brown burn Dallas knowing we could have had him, instead of Roddy “wooded hands White”.

TALK ABOUT BAD TIMING! 1)7-9 Record 2)Miss playoff two years in row. 3)Fire Coach and most of staff 4)Hire college coach unproven at the NFL head coach position 5)Raise prices

PRICELESS!

This is like going to a food joint and getting a burnt steak that you dont want and having the owner tell you, he will maybe provide you with a tasty steak next time but he will have to raise the price and charge you more.

Sure raise prices but with it you had better WIN.

I hate to take sides with ATL ownership with how the team has been “performing” the last couple years, but we all knew this was coming. Blank came in and lowered ticket prices, second cheapest in the NFL. Sooner or later, they were going to be raised. If ATL puts a winner on the field, so be it.

Obviously, the most important consideration to the franchise is money and not the satisfaction of the fan base. I think the reference to the waiting list for season tickets is BS. I can’t imagine too many people willing to put up the money to watch a perpetually inferior team perform (or, more acurately, not perform).

This is a little odd. The Saints get a first round bye in the playoffs, and do they raise prices? No. Honestly people. The only home game worth watching will probably be the Indy game. All the others are pretty much the regular divison games and a slew of mediocrity behind that. So we’re to pay more for that? No thanks.

In the past I would have never sold my tickets to someone who would root for the opposing team. However loyalty is a two way street. By raising prices immediately after I stuck with them through such horrible home efforts, the Falcons are sending me the message that they are going to take advantage of my loyalty because they can. All of a sudden I don’t see the problem if I make a little cash by putting a few Eagles or Giants fans in my seats to root against the team while I sit at home and watch on TV. Apparently, we are not in this together.

Cut Vick’s over paid butt ! He makes me sick to watch. I find it comical when Shaubb comes in, he gets rid of the ball in 3 seconds and hits recievers with catchable balls.

It takes Vick 6 seconds to read a defense. Of course by then the routes have been run and the recievers are scrabbling to get open.

If Vick has not yet learned how to be a true NFL quarterback, then he never will.

Vick is not smart enough or consistent enough to win a Supewr Bowl. Too bad no one else has the balls to say it.

I predict 1/2 through the year Petrino will have given up on Vick due to his lack of QB IQ.

I’ll be back buying tickets when Vick is out of here !

I really can’t blame Blank for raising prices. If there is a waiting list for season tickets then he wants to maximize the revenue. That said, I object to being forced to buy preseason games along with season tickets. I can take the money I save frpm skipping the preseason games and unattractive regular season games and just scalp tickets for the games I want to see. That way I will end up with better seats than I could normally afford and only see the games I care about.

If anybody is stupid enough to buy tickets to see the V-man & Company punk Pecorino as he has Blank and McKay, you deserve what you get. Boycott this crap! Blank is the consumate huckster and he depends on the fans to be the willing suckers. Unfortunately, up to this point, nobody has done anything to show him otherwise. He is making tons of money off of the willing suckers watching a loser team. Don’t watch em on TV, don’t watch em live and don’t buy their overpriced crap for your kids. For all of you who really know football and know that Vick and his contract is dragging the whole organization down, (at least as far as actually winning football games), if you stop buying the load of s@#% that Blank is selling he will have to do something. He should be the one losing the money, not the paying fans who actually care about Atlanta having a winning team. You can hit him if you hit him in the pocketbook. Let the Vick lovers support him.

I have been a season ticket holder for the past 6 years and I’m done. Raising the price of tickets AGAIN and for what? The priveledge to buy a $7 beer? Crappy food at the consession stand? Being confined to your section of the stadium and not being able to walk around because access to all areas of the dome are cut off unless you have a ticket for that particular section or level??

No thanks.

My first set of season tickets cost me $290 each. This season they were up to $650 each. They’ll be over $700 for next year. AND we had to downgrade our section 2 years ago to save some cash. Way too much money for a substantially inferior product.

And the Falcons are the most boring team to watch. The games are BORING. I almost (like the Miller Lite ads) brought a cutout of the letters ‘BO’ and a cutout of a ring instead of the old ‘D-Fence’. BO-RING.

Add in the price of gouged parking and minimal refreshments and you’re easily over $1000 for the season. That $1000 TV would look better in my living room.

Send a message and don’t renew.

Hey…the rest of you “stakeholders”. I’ve had tickets to the Falcons for 15 years. The season BEFORE we opened the dome, and I’ve had enough. This so called “customer friendly” owner is in the wrong business.

This “stakeholders” tickets have tripled in price since this guy bought the team. I’m going to renew my tickets alright. I’m not about the throw away my 16 year investment for this CHUMP. But I plan on immediately turning around and selling them one at a time to the opposing team fans. I figure to make a few bucks if there is a couple of prime time games.

I suggest THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of fans take this approach. Let this team play in front of a packed house with Indy fans next year, or New Orleans fans. You would think Mr. Blank would have gotten the message this year. But next year will be worse. Instead of 15-20 thousand of the opposite teams fans, he will have 25-30 thousand

I’m sick of being taken for granted, and this year I’m going to make a statement. To HE— with the Falcons, and to HE— with a owner who has the audacity to raise prices two years in a row with a pitiful product.

All you have to do is look across town to Turner Field to see ownership that has no desire to win, only the bottom line. Be thankful that we have a passionate owner willing to open his wallet, sparing no expense to bring a winner to the ATL. Maybe you whiners should get a better job or start a business so you can keep your tickets. The lure of Mike Vick is no longer there for me. He was fun to watch a few years ago, but he has become very average. He may break off a good run every once in a while, but the excitement of Vick is over for me.

Not to mention the Georgia Dome is a horrible place to watch football. I would rather be outside with the sun and clear, blue sky.

I bought the $10.00 tickets the first year and we had fun going to games. There was hope and we all knew Vick and Arthur would save the Falcons.

Now everything has soured with Vick and I no longer have respect for Arthur. Someone should have stood up and benched Vick in a couple of games this year and Mora should have been fired after the Dallas loss.

From Blank’s point of view, it’s a good move for business and the franchise will make more money. It is sad that a low middle class dad like myself simply will not be able to afford to take my two boys to any games. I believe others in my same income bracket make up a large percentage of the REAL Falcons fans.

If you want your ticket prices to be in accord with the NFL average, shouldn’t your team be required to have a .500 record???

All you cheapskates should “turn in” your tickets, lol. There are 66,000 true fans on the waiting list for those season tickets. True fans support their team which is something you whiners know little or nothing about. So go ahead, take a hike, you are just getting in my way clogging up the beer lines anyway. Besides, the Dome doesn’t sell your cheap a$$ brew. So next season, you just stay home in your shanty, with a 12 pack of your favorite swill and watch the games on your 13” boob tube. That way, you will be more comfortable and I will enjoy the game even more with you out of my way! Good riddance to you. The only thing worse than opposing fans are lousy, always complaining pretend Falcon’s fans.

If only the Steelers were in the same division with the Falcons. Then the “fans” of the latter could sell their tickets to local fans of the former, and we could watch the Black & Gold in person every year. To those of you threatening to jump of the buzzard-bandwagon and find another team, please pick on something other than Pittsburgh. You are not welcome in the Steeler Nation. Disloyalty is something we do not comprehend.

It’s very amusing, in a sordid kind of way, the raising of ticket prices as the team trends toward the toilet —- 16 losses and only 9 wins out of the last 25 games! Now this is not a Vick issue. Rather, it’s a team issue and the fans are asked to ante up more bucks to watch a team try to work it’s way back to .500. Mr. Blank is applying Home Depot economics to the Falcons: shareholders of Home Depot are asked to fund, to the tune of $210 million a golden parachute for an underachieving CEO and the “stakeholders”, as Mr. Blank likes to call the fans, are asked to fund an underachieving football team.

Reagan would call that voodoo economics; however, fans who can ill afford the increase, will continue to purchase those overpriced tickets, food, beverage and merchandise.

The man is a freakin’ genius and the fans are dumb as dirt to support this scam!

I think Arthur got rid of the wrong man. Vic is not a quaterback and never will be. Maybe, it time to do like the Steelers, make Vic a slot man since he love to run all the time and buy a real quaterback. Yes, maybe Vic can fill seats as an entertainer but loose too many games. Maybe, the Flacons should withdraw from the NFL and become entertainers if that’s the only reason Vic is starting as quaterback.

Hey Arthur why don’t you go back to Home depot and take Vick with you? Maybe over the next 6yrs and 3 different store managers you all can “teach” Vick to learn how to drive a forklift without wrecking it. If that won’t work just build your whole store around Vick’s forklift driving skills by knocking all the shelves down and leaving stuff on the floor. That way he won’t have to think about how to maneuver around the aisles. Just make sure you pay him 25x as much as the rest of your employees. And if the customers don’t like it, TFB! Raise the wood and paint prices and charge to park. Whatever you do don’t fire Vick!!

I’ve got a better idea for the Falcon organization. Rather than raise ticket prices (which, by the way, are to generate proceeds for your new coached salary), have Petrino tie a matress to his back to earn his keep within the organization. Isn’t that how all prostitutes earn their keeps, by tying matresses to their backs. Also, why doesn’t the Falcon organization levy a tariff on all that extra money Mike Vick is earning peddling crack on the urban streets of Atlanta? That would be another good idea.

Oh well, it appears that Falcon fans are just going to have to cough up more money to see those dirty birds lose.

here we go……it’s time to pay the prostitute. You know what, I hope that they end up replacing lombardi’s name on the super bowl trophy with Petrino’s, because you all are getting taken down the river. I am a big Fan of the NFL, season ticket holder as a matter of fact, and I went through this for an entire decade, so I can empathize with your plight. But for what this is going to cost you all in money, pain, and agony……Like I said, I just hope he wins so many super bowls that his is the name on the trophy.

Raising the prices makes business sense. Supply and demand. There is an obvious demand for the seats. Corporate buyers will fill the luxury boxes regardless of the home team’s record. Lots of transplants will want to see their favorite team play. Arthur gets richer! Everbody wins!

First off, Hopper, how in the he#l could you ask for Rankin back? He was quite possible the worst owner in NFL history. Blank has given the team new light, it takes time. He messed up with Mora, maybe Petrino will do the trick. The falcons have one of the highest payrolls in the NFL. How can they keep that while being one of the lowest on ticket prices. Now, if they go 7-9 next year, I will insert foot in mouth. Blank, get some receivers and a pass blocking o-line and the falcons will soar.

K-town fan: Indeed, the Falcons have one of the highest payrolls in the NFL. However, the situation in like paying the guy that mixes paint in the Home Depot $100 bucks an hour! Too many of the Falcon players are paid far more than they’re worth which should be laid at McKay’s feet.

Blank then comes to the fans and says: “Hey, guys, we made a bunch of mistakes. We wasted a ton of money on losers and lackluster, underachievers. So, here’s the deal. We’re gonna raise the price of the tickets so you can help bail us out of this mess we got outselves in to. Okay?”

WHAT? Raise prices??? Now fans let’s think about this for a second. Now you guys just heard the news about this new coach in town right?? Now would’nt it make sense, that before you make “his” contract or any other players contracts to consider the fans first?? The contract on the coach could have taken a hit if there is needed improvement at the Dome OK?? Instead of a 5year 24million dollar contract on MR. “BP”, this should have been considered already before he came. If the money is needed “that” bad, OK?? And while we are at it, the players should recieve pay cuts if they are not producing, and all would take care of itself. Season ticket holders would even get a discount after the year we just had, don’t you think?? Only if you make the Playoffs should you raise prices Mr. Blank. And if the Falcons go to the SuperBowl, there would be no questions asked. We would glady pay to see the “Champs” after such a display of talent. But now it should be, “everything on sale”! How dare one even think of a Ticket price raise after what we saw this year???? *I’m not hating, I just want to make sense OK???? *

Most of people complaining here don’t buy tickets anyway. they watch on tv for free. And, the few season ticket-holder who won’t renew can easily be replaced — by those names on the waiting list. the truth is the NFL has a product that’s in demand, and the teams don’t have to beg the fans to attend. I think for the most part, the bloggers on this site aren’t season ticket holders anyhow. If you are, you sue as heck wasn’t supporting this team before the arrival of MV7. Some of you are blaming Vick as if he was calling the idiotic plays. Heck he was only allowed to throw in obvious passing situations and to unproven receivers. The Vick criticism for the most part is just racist attitudes, upset because the young man is making millions. Heck, Blank and the Falcons and the NFL are making 10 x that on his name. He has some areas to improve but the whole team does. Matt S., will not sell out the dome, nor elicit excitement in this city. He appears to be a good QB but haven’t seen enough and he seems to fit a west coast type system. Now if Blank wants to cater to the Nortern Suburb fanbase then Matt is his guy. Vick given the right system should prevail, though it appears they are ready to use him as a scapegoat. It’s kind of crazy to hear all the negativity towards Vick since he is responsible for all the interest in the Falcons in the first place. Pre Vick you could literally walk up on gameday and purchase tickets are heck usually someone would give you one for free or five bucks. Thats why I know you fake Falcon fans don’t buy tickets anyhow, you watch from home because thanks to Vick, the blackouts have been lifted. Thanks Vick, in six years really four, you have given the real Falcon fans more memories than we ever had with the old regime. The haters are just that, they will all board that infamous Atlanta Bandwagon next January when you lead the Falcons to a level never seen in these parts.

myconju2(the one with so little creativity),

How do you know that I sit at home and watch the game on T.V.! Is it because I want your tickets?

Because of where I live, I am compelled to go to the local High School and College game. Which, I might add is thoroughly entertaining.

Unfortunately, I want to see some professional football. You can help me move up on the waiting list by not buying another season ticket.

Lastly, my sympathies to those that will not be able to afford the tickets. However, it’s time to let some other, maybe more supportive fans through the gates of the dome.

Mr. Blank - I hope you’re looking at these!!! You have only “enticed” Season Ticket Holders to sell their tickets to your competition in protest. I honestly didn’t even have an INTEREST in going to any of the games during the 2nd half of the season when the birds lost their wings. Now you want to RAISE ticket prices??? Nice “Nardelli” move there - what the hell are you thinking? Do you not remember what the Dome has looked like in the past couple of years when YOUR team was doing badly (especially Green Bay home games) - the entire Dome was GREEN and YELLOW…..NOT Red and Black!! Guess I might as well start planning on not going to any Home games…way to ruin ‘07 already!!!!!

I have said this before—I was one of the original Falcon ticket holders but after 20 some years I said Goodbye—too many year after year nothing seasons—but I did like to see Van Brocklin butt heads with the players and media. Arthur Blank must be drinking his own koolaid to hire a college coach, raise ticket prices and keep Michael Vick, who is NOT an NFL Quarterback. He would make a good return man, cornerback, or short (height) wide receiver. Vick is short for a quarterback in the league of monster giant muscle bounds with long arms. Arthur, raising ticket prices is a mistake at this time..But you have to learn by experiment and mistakes which you have already been doing.

Can somebody explain to Mr. Blank that the way to make money in football is by having a team that competes in the playoffs, and even more money by going to the Super Bawl, not by increasing ticket prices and punishing the fans for being FALCONS FANS?

E,

Halftime shows suck, beer is almost $8, giveaways are a joke along with the landings. I must say, I will keep the good games and sell the rest. This is really killing the 12th MAN… People think that the FANS are the problem but its the players and the owners that are causing us not to be true fans..

Doug, Doug, Doug,

If you’ve been through just 20 years of being a Falcons fan, then you really can’t document all of the losing we’ve been through. Let me school you.

The Falcons have had many Coaches, and QBs. The Falcons have had a couple of stars on the team. Nobody has been able to pull this franchise out of mediocrity.

If Shaub is your man maybe Petrino will play him, but they’ll still lose. Why? My guess is, no one has faith in them and after a while they don’t have faith in themselves.

Let’s be real. Atlantans don’t know how to be true fans.

By the way!!! I’ve been following this team since the late 70s. I’m an original Atlantan who happens to live out of State. I support the political candidate of my choice and yes, the Atlanta Falcons.

I guess you all forgot how a mediocre team, lackluster fans, and a small minded media ran Deon Sanders out of town. Then like now, most fans thought Deon could win the game by himself. We had a few years of Falcons pride, then it fizzled.

It might just be the fans.

Remember when Blank lowered all the prices to fill up the Dome? It was a shrewd move…that and Vick got him a 30,000 person waiting list for season tickets. Now he figures he can raise prices at will…the 30,000 will fill in for whoever he loses.

Its just business, not that surprising.

I have had season tickets 19 years, I’m on a fixed income. Prices are going up faster than my cost of living increase. You are really hurting the long time true fans that have been here for years. This puts me in the position that I will need to sell my tickets to home games to anyone I can. People here are not that loyal to the Falcons. When other teams come here you will continue to see the same thing you saw when Pittsburg was here there will never be home field advantage in the dome. If you are raisisg ticket prices let people bring in their own food & drinks like at the old stadium. Author we are getting the shaft at both ends.

You’re making improvements to the club level & Suites What about the Majority of the people not in those levels, Have you ever had to sit a full game in one of those seats? It’s painful.

This is just not right, but who cares?

Well he (Blank) just ruined his chances to get his premium seats filled. 70% of suites and club seats were up for renewal this year. With this gag I have a feeling that some will not renew.

NOW if the falcons miss this playoffs for next year watch the fans bail..It’s Atlanta…loserville!

Then Blank will demand a new attempt for a new stadium which Atlanta will say no and then he will Modell us (or jew us) and move the team to Rochester, NY.

You might want to win a few seasons before you raise your prices or you just might lose your 12th player. Keep in mind that you are a businessman, your job is to sell to your customers last few seasons you did not do that. The simple economics of supply and demand shows that if your raise prices for an inferior product you will lose more customers. This just does not add up in good business since and I will not be renewing my season tickets.

You know, Atlanta gets criticised for not being a sports town but these critics never cite to the poor management of teams like the Falcons. Poor management in the form of stupid ticket prices and racketeer like prices for concessions. Wins and losses are part of the product but so is the price of going to the venue to enjoy the product. With wins down, losses up along with ticket prices I don’t know what kind of traction Mr. Blank expects to get from the fan base. It’s bad enough he has a thug leading the team on the field. I’m glad I’m not a Falcons fan or I might take this personally.

As a season ticket holder (probably former season ticket holder), I’d like to know why I’m asked to pay more to see basic football fundamentals botched by a team of overpaid prima donnas. The average ticket holder who can’t afford Club Seats hasn’t seen any recent improvements in their game experience at the dome. With the new perks announced for Club Seat holders, I think we “little people” are footing the bill. I think Arthur and the Boys should hold off until we see what the 2007 season is like under Petrino. Personally, I think it’s an arrogant act with little or nor regard for the “12th Man”. A lot of empty seats will bring the message home to these elites.

Raise the Falcon’s ticket prices? On what trumped (Sorry, Donald) basis this time? I’m sure Arthur and his cronies will find one or, perhaps, a few for reinforcement. Other then the revitalization of the Club Section, the rt of the Dom still remains in its seedy condition as it has for years. Certainly the increase cant’ be because of Mike Vick’s performance. Despite popular disillusion, Vick is NOT the heart and soul of the Falcons. His temperament is beginning to transform into that of Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. Blank is transforming into Jerry Jones. Falcons Heart and Soul? Better you should talk to guys like Warrick Dunn, Alge Crumpler, Keith Brooking, Rod Coleman, Patrick Kerney and, yes, Morten Andersen. They’d probably take a salary cut just to be part of a winnning team. Hey! Wait a minute! Salary cuts! Now, there’s an alternative to raising ticket prices!

Mr. Blank, you should be ashamed of yourself. At 33 years of age, I now know what it must feel like to find coal in your stocking on Christmas morning. This is an INSULT to the people of Atlanta who have graciously supported the sub-par product you have given us the past two seasons.

Not only has the team suffered through two consecutive 7-9 seasons, but we’ve had to endure the let down that accompanies the now-annual second half collapse. And you actually think it appropriate to ask us to suffer through ticket price increases for the second straight year?

It’s not the fault of the fans you made such a BONEHEAD move in signing Mike Vick to a ridiculous deal. Please don’t make us suffer for your transgressions. At least the Smith family didn’t try to overcharge us for the sub-par product they put out for us on Sundays.

I tell you what - the best ticket in the house is MY HOUSE because that’s where I’ll be for the 2007-2008 season.

I was reading the article by Steve Wyche regarding the coaching hires made by Petrino, Blank and McKay. **The payroll is one of the highest in the NFL because of rediculous contracts for mediocre performers AND THE FACT THAT ALMOST EVERY PLAYER APPEARS TO HAVE A PERSONAL COACH/ASSISTANT! Maybe if they share coaches/assistants —- for instance, let a coach work with a small group of players —- Blank wouldn’t have to raise prices.

Along w/ the Falcons, I also have season tix w/ Buffalo and Tampa. Falcons ticket prices are way way cheaper than these 2 lousy teams. I think Blank’s timing is unfortunate. I moved to Atlanta in 1988 from the west coast and immediately purchased season tickets (I was previously a season ticket holder for the Raiders and would occasionally attend a 49ers game). Seems I’ve been disappointed for 18 years but still hung on to hoping that this team would step it up. Mr. Blank, why don’t you fine the players to missed tackles, dropped passes, missed blocks, etc, etc; there have been so many of the above that the fines would cover the cost of raising ticket prices. I don’t feel it right now that I would renew my season tickets for next season, although I jumped for joy when you got rid of that inept coaching staff. As for the past season, GOOD teams do not loose to a team that only had 1 win and to a team with only had 2 wins (at home)!!! Put a quality coaching staff and quality team together and I’m sure that you’ll have some financially challenged fans standing in line to purchase tickets; no matter the cost!!!

As the old saying goes, business is business. To quote Wikipedia, “…the owners and operators of a business have as one of their main objectives the receipt or generation of a financial return in exchange for their work…” If Arthur Blank wants to raise prices, it’s his decision. I can make a business decision too. I’ve been buying season tickets for several years and I plan on buying my season tickets again this year. Otherwise, somebody on the waiting list will buy them. I’ll sell as many games on stubhub as I can. I frankly don’t care whether the stadium is half full of the other team’s fans as long as I can sell my tickets and recoup my money. Besides, I mainly buy them with the hopes the team will make it to the playoffs. Then the tickets may really be worth something. Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Business is business.

Take a real look and listen to the true fan; most of us don’t make the money to afford to see them live.

I love my Falcons, but I agree with so many of the other comments; you want us to pay for an Escalade and give us an Escort!

That was a real foul move Mr. Blank. You always pride yourself on being a fan’s owner but for two years in a row you have charged us for steak and given us ground chuck. In your defense you have done your part in trying to bring in quality players…but the fact of the matter is we have had two suspect years and still had to pay for it. Home Depot Man, I urge you to do the right thing and take back the ticket hike or its a good chance you will be taking back my 4 season tickets.

We are just now coming off a losing season and we are raising prices AGAIN???

I, for one, will NOT be buying the tickets next year. Those tickets are an investment, and I need some return.

If I was Arthur Blank, I would LOWER the ticket prices, because there will be backlash over two consecutive losing seasons. And unless you promise Mike Vick is going to sprout wings and fly, the Experience ride needs to be rebuilt first.

THE IGNORANCE OF A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THIS BLOG IS SHOCKING. THIS IS SIMPLE DEMAND AND SUPPLY. ECONOMICS 101- THERE IS MORE DEMAND (CURRENT AND POTENTIAL SEASON TICKETS HOLDERS) THAN SUPPLY (SEATS); THEREFORE, THE FALCONS WOULD BE FOOLISH TO NOT RAISE PRICES. BLANK AND MCKAY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DRAFT QUALITY PLAYERS AND PICK NFL CALIBRE COACHES, BUT ATLEAST THEY UNDERSTAND ECONOMICS.

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO (OR CAN’T) PURCHASE SEASON TICKETS, DON’T. SIMPLY WATCH THE TEAM ON TELEVISION.

You know, I had tickets for years with the Braves until Time Warner decided to try and win with a handcuffed payroll. Now Blank is hnadcuffing the fans by continuing to raise prices. I guess my NFL package will get a little more work this year. Plus, beer is much cheaper at a convenience store.

Being a season ticket holder is a priveledge not a right. I’ve been on the waiting list for season tickets for years. It you can’t handle the price, then it’s not for you. Don’t renew your deal just to sell them off. Cancel them and let the next guy buy them.

Isn’t “increasing prices to move in line with other NFL teams” the same statement Mr. Blanks made last year to justify the increase? I haven’t heard of any NFL team increasing their ticket prices thus far. By the way, I did compare my increased cost, last year with the Chicago Bears ticket cost (similiar seating) and last year prices were exactly the same. Hmmm Chicago made the Playoffs last year and again this year! Mr. Blanks increasing prices is Economics 101.

Mr Blanks, why not do something good for the team…like hire Steve Young to tutor Michael Vick —- similar style. Michael Vick is not a quarterback who can be a productive passer with his current mechanics/skills

If you think we have any chance of convinced King Blank to NOT raise the prices, saying those types of things will not do it. It’ll only p** him off more and want to raise the prices to keep low lifes like YOU away!!!! This issue has nothing to with race, creed, religious affiliation or national origin. It has to do with PURE GREED!!!!!!

Season ticket holders for 18 years and have been driving from North Carolina all this time. Love to support the Falcons but am disappointed in ticket prices going up again. We even tried to get another ticket last year because we now have a grandchild to bring with us. We had to be put on the waiting list! Maybe people won’t buy and we can get the extra seat. I also don’t like having to pay for pre-season games. We will probably sell those if anyone is willing to buy them.

As it turns out, my worst day as a Falcons Season Ticket Holder turns out to be the best. January 1981 Falcons soundly beating the Cowboys only to be beaten at the waning moments. Last game as a season ticket holder because three months later I accepted a transfer and moved away. Funny thing. I found out there were alot of other things to do on Sunday afternoons with my family. Eleven years later returned to Atlanta and did not get season tickets again and have never once regretted it. I am sill an Atlanta Falcon Fan but my life does not rotate around them. I watch them more often than not but you know what, there still are other things I can do on Sunday and if I miss a game, so what. Increasing your ticket prices is really a slap in the face to you all for your loyalty. Take a little advise from a former season ticket holder, there is life after the Falcons. Enjoy it.

When Arthur Blank took over, he lowered ticket prices to get the fans back. He wanted to make ATL take pride in the falcons. And ever since he took over he has made promises, that well, he has not followed through with.

The Falcons have the highest Payroll in the NFL. We didn’t make the Playoffs. The Chargers went 14-2 and they have the 29th highest payroll, and the Colts have the 28th highest payroll, and thats out of 32. We have the 1st, and we didn’t make the playoffs, and now we have to pay more for a team that over the past two seasons has a losing record…Good move.

The team in the Playoffs with the highest payroll is the Seahawks. They are #2 right behind us. Then the rest of the teams are 8, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 28, and 29.

I love the falcons. I Will support them, but I hate to say it. We are not the Packers, we are not the patriots. We do not have the same fans as these teams do. Keeping ticket prices low, keeps the ATL fans happy. I can almost promise that we will not sell out.

No quite sure what they were thinking of bumping tickets prices. We already made Vicks Jersey one of the highest purchased. We spend 7.50 on Miller Lite and Ice House (2 beers you could buy a 12 pack with that much money) and we do all this to watch our beloved Falcons, play football, if you call quitting or as vick put it “Not giving 100%.”

I was completely thrilled with the hiring of BP and the staff he’s bringing in, but that dissipated pretty quickly with the tacky announcement of raising prices. Cost of living may not affect billionaires and millionaires, but it sure has an impact on me. The fact that I get “mugged” at the concession stand isn’t enough, now you’ve gotta go digging in my wallet for more. I don’t wann hear the crap that I’m not a true fan b/c I refuse to pay outrageous prices. I’ve been a passionate fan since I’ve been old enough to walk. I’ve supported this team through the few ups and MANY downs. I won’t do it from the stands this year…..not that it matters to the powers that be. I’m simply a dollar sign, not a person evidently. Thanks Mr. Blank for overjoying me and then alienating me in the course of a week. Hopefully some bandwagon fan will buy my ticket so I can watch it from home. This just isn’t right.

Well, I will purchase my tickets too maintain my seniority. However, I will put all but three on the market. DirecTV here I come. I might as well stay home and watch multiple games rather than go to the Dome and be humiliated watching a team of under-achievers. Two years of non-winning with two years of price increases. Isn’t what Arthur said this year, reference price increases the same rhetoric as last year? I have NO problem paying for a winner and the Falcons hves not shown they have the ability to win! My goodness, we lost too DETROIT, CLEVELAND (the door mats of the NFL)! I will lobby for the city of Atlanta to purchase the Falcons - then prices can be comparable to the team we put on the field. Loyalty is only short lived by reciprocal loyalty. Arthur has demonstarted he is loyal to the fans and therefore the fans need to show him what they think of him!

After 5 seasons as a season ticket holder I have watched my seats go from $37 to $79. This would be fine if If my seats improved and the services in the dome improved. Including the team. Instead, I have moved from section 129 to 131. Basically 5 yards. The domes food services are horrible, the jumbo trons are dated, and the team has a regular season record of 40-38-1. Two trips to the playoffs with a record of 2-2. Only one of those playoff games were at home and we have one division title to show for all of this. Arther you have to do better if you want more money.

What you don’t get is The Falcons don’t care why you buy the tickets and they don’t care who the fans are cheering for. They make just as much money off of Steelers fans as they do Falcons fans. If you continue to buy the tickets then you give up your right to complain.

I’m a season ticket holder, love my seats, love my Falcons. I went with the increase last year as drastic as it was. I will go with it again. I never miss a game, and have always hated it when the Dome got filled with the opposing teams fans.

However…after a 7-9 season I am much more inclined to sell a pair or two to offset this undetermined increase to non-Falcon’s fans to make a point. I punish myself by not buying the tix, but I punish the image of the Falcons if I help fill the dome with Saints or Colts fans. Enjoy that on national TV.

And Vick isn’t the problem folks. We need receivers who can catch the ball and a line that can pass protect not just run block. Vick did lead us to the playoffs twice with his ‘style of play’, beat Green Bay at GB in the playoffs where they never lost in the playoffs prior to that game, and then in the 11-5 year ran over St. Louis. Oh, and Shaub didn’t look too good in that second half in Philly. Just think Doug Johnson year all over again.

By say what?

What a shame to have such ignorant Atlanta fans. Stop hating on Vick. He is a great quaterback and has contributed a lot to the game. If it weren’t for Vick, our record would be 3 and 11. He needs a good offensive line. Do all of you haters remember calling for Doug Johnson a few years back? Well, you see what happen to him. We will get the same thing from Schaub. So stop hating on Vick. He’s a fantastic player.

This is not about the price of tickets, this is about principal. It is unbelievable that he would have the balls to raise prices after such underperformance on the field. It would be different if this team was a young team being rebuilt at 7-9. But expectation means something and this team has grossly underperformed for two years in a row. In return, my expectation of ownership is to not raise ticket prices, but thats exactly what they have done, once again. Thats it, I’m done. I am a life long Falcons fan and a 12 year season ticket holder but what has developed over the past two years is disgusting. I’ll come back once you get rid of the overpriced quarterback that’s bringing this franchis down.

Let me see if I am hearing this right,

We are a losing team for the past two years and he wants to make it up to us by “making US (the Fan) pay more” to see a new orginization that hasn’t even been tested yet.

We are still miffed with this team for taking our money for what they called HOME GAMES.

Christ, The playoffs haven’t even gotten off to a good start yet, and they dare to tell us that we should pay out extra to take a chance on seeing a repeat season.

At least give us a season, and prove to us why we should pay more.

“Show me what I am paying for, then I might decide to agree if it’s not considered a drastic increase in price.

This team has never proven itself to the fan, and yet they keep asking for more and more from us, while giving very little in return.

I have not been able to find another team coming off of a losing season (this year) who is even thinking about raising the price.

I am about to give up on my loyalty as a diehard fan to this so called Franchise.

Got it! I’ll sneak in a price increase for tickets (nobody will notice) and pave the way for $50 hot dogs. Yep, This is the straw that broke my back. I’ve been a season ticket holder for 14 years save the last year of June Jones as head coach. I paid $1300 and another $210 upfront in parking for last year to fight downtown traffic, pay $8 for a beer and $4 for a hotdog, all the while trying to fight my way through all the “Playas” standing around in the walkways. For this I had the privledge to watch my team tank almost every home game.

Arthur, I haven’t been getting a return on my investment. No-one would invest in a stock that had 2 positive gains in 14 years, and keep pouring money in.

My next investment is a 42” HDTV. I can sell my tickets to opposing fans (at face value if need be)so if you ever do put a winning team on the field, I may return.

So be happy next year! Your revenue will increase, but the only Falcon seatholders will be in the suites and clubseats sitting on their hands while the rest of the Dome will be the opposing team’s 12th man!

Losing record = decrease in ticket value

Well, somebody’s gotta pay for Patrino and Vick, and it’s us, the fans…at least if I buy a plasma, I can enjoy it every stinking day. The rich get richer and the fans are the ones who suffer for it. In free agency, the salaries rise and the average fan is priced out of the market. Or, fans resort to selling their tickets to the opposition (often being the highest bidder because no one wants to see that junk in Atlanta) just to be able to see a couple of games in person. This is wrong. I had hopes Mr. Blank read the newspaper ad and was trying to do something for his investors. Well, I guess he is, but I would rather not get screwed over yet again. Bad enough that the folks in the lower levels pay so much more than the folks up top—we’ll get the most increase and continue to subsidize those seats. I could see some of it, but at least the Smiths charged everyone the same thing. That seemed most fair to me. Ridiculous….greed is a scary thing, people. Maybe it’s time to put “me first” and get out of this mess for good. With a waiting list, they know if we drop, somebody else is waiting. The 12th man will soon be non-existant as it will be tix scalped to the opposition. And you know what? You deserve it, greedy gus.

I have read through some of the comments. Some on cue, others well just like rear end, we all got one. If anyone should be enraged, it should be the season ticket holders.(inwhich i am not one nor have I ever been to a Game and have no intention of going when I can clearly see them on any of my TVs)However Mr. Blank. if anything. You should decrease the ticket prices for the shameful show your team put on for the past 2yrs. If anything had I been a ticket holder I would probably have wanted a partial refund LoL! I agree with another post, there WILL be more empty seats if the Falcons dont prove themselves “whorthy” to pay extra hard earned cash to see them lose game after game. I saw a clip of the Hawks last night who got stomped(what else is new?) when the camara flashed on the fans you could count them. Infact I saw more players benched then actually fans watching. Well all of you folks who love throwing your money away..knock yourselves out. But until the Falcons Prove themselves whorthy by winning atleast a few back to back games, I dont see fans willing to shell out More money and not get anything in return like atleast a few back to back wins. But what do I know? I am not a season holder, they are the Ones who should be upset. I am not upset. Watching the birds on TV causes a lot less then those front row middle row tickets!

And when it is sold out (full) its with fans from other team. The team is terrible, firing the the coach was a good thing, but going outside the league to hire a coach, what a mistake. We did this to try and save a exciting but inconsist QB. Let me let you know something, excitment can only get you so far. The great teams were not excicitng, they just won games, the last time I check that’s what it was all about.

Go ahead you dolts and don’t renew! Or better yet, sell your tix to opposing fans. Because you are not true fans anyway if you plan to jump from the bandwagon. You clowns need to whine at the oil companies for $3 per gallon gasoline. Y’all don’t mind to drop $5 bucks for a pack of smokes. This is America, why don’t you get off your a*******es take advantage of the opportunities before you? But nooo, you want someone to give you something for free. Be-otch and moan about Blank and Vick (who is our QB “today”). No one cares about your whining. Pull yourselves up out of the mirey clay and do something, or shut your yappers!

I WOULD like to renew my season tickets but they are getting expensive.

I am not swimming in money and I have to carefully budget so I can afford these ever increasing tickets. Unfortunately the price of EVERYTHING else has increased and my wages have not followed.

The main problem however is that the games are no longer fun. Why pay to see them quit in person when you can do it from home or at your local sports bar? At least then you don’t have the other team’s fans saying your team sucks and have to agree with them.

Maybe next year we can have the #1 overall pick and make it so we also have the #1 ticket prices.

I love for opposing fans to sit in Club Sect. 245. We give them fits, win or lose, especially if they are the obnoxious types. It really shows how dumb you are to sell your tix below face value. I have 2 seats plus parking for the NCAA Mens Final Four 2007 because of my “investment” in the Falcons. Blank has made tens of thousands of millionaires out of common folks. Investments require years of patience for a return. Simpletons, all of you turncoats, keep on buying your smokes, beer, lotto, and lap dances and wonder why you never succeed.

Ok so Mr. Blanks wants to raise the prices. We knew they couldnt stay cheap forever. Yeah this is a bad time. Also before everyone keeps getting on to Vick I think you guys should analyze what he has had to work with. Recievers with awful hands and a terrible play caller at offensive coordinator! The coaching staff came from the 49ers! When was the last time they had a good team?!!!….ummm…..My point!!! Now before we go trading off Vick and he becomes a Hall of Famer tearing up every defense, let use this draft to surround him with true talent! Lets see what Mr. Patrino can do with him first. Vick can win 7 or 8 byhimself, with a little help from the recievers and the defense maybe we will make the playoffs! We need Calvin johnson point blank period!!!!!!!! Then my friends we will see some results. also Randy Moss wont be a Raider for too long!! Hint Hint!

I had decided to re-up for the 16 year in a row. I expected some type of goodwill gesture toward the fans by not raising prices this year but now it seems we are asked to pay a higher price for a product that hangs in the aisle at the checkout counter. You know, stuff that you buy on impulse because it looks good but when you get home it’s either already broken, it doesn’t work because it doesn’t fit or it does work but breaks the next time you use it. More in-line with other teams would be a winning record on a consistent basis along with playoff appearances 2 of every 3 years. I’m concerned that this owner is gouging us with a losing team and when we finally get back to the playoffs we can look for the pricing to extend to over $100 for a cheap ticket and over $150 for a middle range ticket. We are being treated like drug users. We get a good bag to begin with then get hosed by a dealer that sells us a cut product. Now he tells us he’s getting his stuff from another source and it’s better than what we’ve gotten in the past. I’ve got to think long and hard about this situation. I actually paid more this past year for a parking permit than I did in 1992 for a season ticket. Guess what? My truck didn’t get to watch the Falcons win but 2 games at home this year either.

when all home games are sold out and you have a waiting list of tens of thousands of people…you can raise prices. it kind of makes sense. and as far as the other teams’ fans buying the tix…well that speaks volumes about us falcons fans now doesn’t it? would that happen green bay, tampa bay, or cleveland? stop complaining about it…it makes perfect business sense. mr. blank didn’t buy the falcons because he wanted to walk the sidelines.

Whether or not the price of a ticket to a Falcons game is worth the new price I don’t know, thats up to you the not so smart ones that wil purchase them. But before you pay the price I offer up this tidbit of information for your consideration and before you spend your hard earned dollars to watch this team of failures lose again and again! Mike Vick has been quoted on Cold Pizza as being fired up about the new coaching staff, the changes coming and the new season. Seems to me I heard this from Ron Mexico 3 years ago at the beginning of the Jim Mora (not JR.) era. Then in year two he was fired up because it was his second year in the new offense and he had mastered its intricacies. Laughable! Then again this year he was fired up becuase everything had come together and he was going to lead us to a SuperBowl Championship. So before you pay the higher prices remember who the quarteback, face and leader of this team is. Do you really expect anything to be different? The minute things get tough for Mr. Mexico he will quit and this team and Bobby Petrino will quit. Petrino will be back coaching a college team and Falcon fans will have another 3 years to whine, cry and make excuses for the worst QB in the history of the NFL. If he couldn’t run he would have gone the way of Ryan Leaf, Rick Mirer and Kordell Stewart Here’s hoping the Falcons never win another game in their long and infamous history! Arthur please sell this team and get the hell out of Atlanta and take Vick and the rest of these losers with you!

As of 9/06 per ESPN the league average was 62.38. I don’t know what everybody else paid but I pay 650 in the upper which includes two preseason tickets that sale the day of the game for like $15. That is 65 a game including preseason.

I would say we are at the league average depending upon how someone averages for their own media spin.

The problem I really have is the cost that came out of Blank’s pocket were to improve the suites because most of the leases were up. Not to improve the majority of the the STH’s game day experience.

I will always be a Falcons fan but after being a season ticket holder for 10 years I will be watching them from the comfort of my home.

I wanted my boys to experience seeing the falcons in action. I logged on to TM every year the day tickets went on sale and paid rediculous convient charges in order to get tickets. I have never seen a winning game. I need a refund for a waste of money on tickets where the games were not only lost but the Falcons were pathetic. Loyal fan do not talk about ticket prices. They talk about how to put Ws on the board next year. It might be that Blank got a better offer from another city than the deal he has with the dome. Its that silly contract with the city that is causing the ticket increase. Maybe it came down to raise prices for more revenue or move the team. Did anyone think about that? What if actually had no team?

I personally hope that all of you “loyal” fans do make good on your promise to drop your tickets. That way I can be first in line to move my tickets to a better section.

Players demand more, coaches demand more, agents demand more, owners demand more, the food and drink people demand more, but none of them feel any obligation to tie these demands to improved production on their parts. Okay, this is what should have happened. Blank should have come out after the season and talked about how much less the Falcons were taking in as opposed to the league average gate revenues, but then he should have gone on to point out how business sense says that he SHOULD raise prices, but because of the woeful last two seasons, he could not in all good conscience raise ticket prices for a product that had depreciated in value. So, with tears in his eyes, he stands in front of the world and says that he is willing to take the loss until the Falcons can put a product on the field whose play is consistent with the highest yeilding teams in the league. He walks away looking like a prince, fans feel like their needs are taken into consideration, and everybody feels just a little bit better about the integrity of the Atlanta Falcons ownership, if not the ownership itself. Well, that’s what would have gone down if I were the Falcon’s PR guy.

Have you no respect for the loyal fans who have supported the Falcons??? Give me a Break!!! Why worry about being competitive with other team’s ticket prices when the Falcons have yet to be competitive on the field!!! Anyone who knows basic math can tell you that and “average” is based off of a “high” and a “low” component… What’s wrong with the Falcons being the “low” component of the average of the team ticket prices!!! Even more… don’t you realize that if you raise the lower component you cause the average to also rise… thus you will always be “below average” unless you do something stupid like set prices above the current average!!! Before giving us back-2-back increases in ticket prices how about giving us back-2-back winning seasons!!!

Please don’t tell us that you need to raise prices to pay for the dome renovations because that does nothing for the regular fans… My season tickets are in the upper deck… section 319… and I have yet to hear about any renovations to the dome that will benefit me and my fellow “sky walkers” setting up high…. We will be paying higher ticket prices but end up with the same cold and hard concrete floors to walk on, cramp seats, small TV monitors in the dirty bathrooms and long lines at the concession stands with employees who treat customers like crap…

Mr. Blank… Think back to when you were actually working at The Home Depot and ask yourself.. Would your business have been a success if you had raised prices but provided poor products, maintained a place of business that was not a hospitable environment and your customers were treated like crap. Probably not… Your customers would probably have taken their money and loyalty to someone else….

You did not do that to Home Depot and your customers…. so why do that now to the Falcons and the fans!!!

Raising ticket prices is just a sure way to drive away the fans who have supported this team over the years…

I will reluctantly renew my season tickets for this year. (This does depend on how high the prices go up.) My only complaint is that we have to pay FULL price for two preseason games that we will probably never see any of the players we want to see. I do understand why these players don’t play, but we shouldn’t be expected to pay full price for these games.

Very simple…If you do not like the increase in price, do not buy tickets. Better yet, everyone knows the Falcons suck, so why even consider buying their stupid tickets in the 1st place? Save your money and take the family skiing or to Florida for a long weekend. You’ll be glad you did. By the way, GET RID of VICK!

I really wish that some of you would give up your tickets so that I could move up on the waiting list.

I love the Falcons - win or lose - because I support my city.

I watch the home games and Atlanta does not truly have fans.

Michael Vick did a great job as QB this year. The organization is growing. I have seen many improvements since Arthur Blank bought this team.

People from all over come to the Dome to see Vick. He is not a traditional QB. He sells tickets and with the right supporting cast he can take this team all of the way.

Vick is not perfect. And this year neither were the receivers, the O-line, or the defense. But Mike kept us in the game when things were looking bad.

When the Falcons look good, they look really good. Do you remember the Dallas game? We lost but we had a real chance. I saw some great wins this year with the Bengals and Steelers. (we were not expected to win either of these games…) But when the Falcons look bad, they look really bad. i.e., Lions, Panthers (game 2), Browns.

All we are looking for this year is consistency. New coach, new year, new prices. Get over it!

And stay off the Falcons bandwagon next year please! Real Falcons fans, I am looking forward to great things in the 2007 season!

Much luv to our ATLANTA FALCONS!!!!

BLANK, YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER ANYMORE. THE DOME WAS SOLD OUT FOR THE PAST 2-3 YEARS, ALTHOUGH THE TEAM’S RECORD HAS GOTTEN WORSE, YEAR BY YEAR. NOW WE’RE BEING REWARDED BY HIGHER TICKET PRICES. WOW!! IS ALL I CAN SAY. THE ONLY REASON BLANK IS DOING THIS IS BECAUSE THERE’S A WAITING LIST FOR SEASON-TICKETS. A LOOONG WAITING LIST. THE HAWKS ARE HORRIBLE, BUT AT LEAST THEY REALIZE THEY CAN’T CHEAT THE FANS BY CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS TICKET PRICES AND THEN LOSE… CONSISTENTLY!!! I HAD MORE RESPECT FOR YOU AND THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS, MR. BLANK, BUT NOT ANYMORE. YOU, SIR, ARE CHEATING US!!! WIN, AND THERE’S NOTHING WE CAN SAY BUT GO FALCONS. The Falcon fans SHOULD boycott the games next year and show their displeasure for being made fools of again. The product that the Falcons put on the field in 2006 was ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Why in the name of God would Arthur Blank RAISE ticket prices on the heels of such an abysmal product. What if the Falcons had made the playoffs. Are we (the fans) so gullible to believe that Arthur would have LOWERED the prices if the Falcons got to the post-season. Arthur Blank would have raised the ticket prices regardless of whether the Falcons won or lost. I will NEVER attend another Falcons game again because I wont support such a mediocre product. My feeling is “How dare you raise prices for that horrendous product which played like $hit most of the year.”

The Falcons SHOULD boycott the games this season to show their displeasure in how they are being treated. If the Falcons played in front of 10000 fans each Sunday, Blank would be FORCED to LOWER ticket prices in order to get the fans back. Dont let the Falcons cheat you out of your hard-earned money. Boycott the games and justice will prevail.

Last year was the first that I got off the waiting list for season tickets. Fans who went to the home games were treated to a 3-5 record! Thats simply not acceptable. I know its business and I expected this an increase. However, I am more upset about that than I thought I would be. To have to sit through a gutless performance like the one against the Panthers makes this a bitter pill to swallow. Will I renew? It depends on the increase. I can tell you I will probably sell a game or two to offset any increase.

Who has forced any of you to buy a ticket? The Hawks stink because they have a dysfunctional ownership group. Most of you liberal college grad cubical workers can’t understand the concept of a “determined effort”. Most of you will not put forth any effort to improve your chances for success. Blank & Co. are making a determined effort to make our Falcons a force to be reckoned with in the NFL. Many informed football people recognize this. They will succeed in time.

He’s pulled off the biggest con in recent sports history. He was a 3rd round draft pick for a reason folks. He’s not an athlete… he’s all brain. I have no doubt in my mind he can memorize Petrino’s play book in 1 day. He’s not an athlete, and at the end of the day, that’s what Vick has over him and that’s why Petrino will prefer Vick. A Multi-Purpose Offense with a Multi-Purpose player.

Matt Schaub is not the next Tom Brady… he’ll be lucky to be the next Steve Beurlein.

Blanks, Me and my friends has been season ticket holder since 1998. I have a question to ask. How many peoples that is one the waiting list do you think are going to want tickets after the last two under 500 seasons? I think you are putting your faith in the people that is one the waiting list to replace the ticket holders that are not going to purchase there tickets after going up on the tickets the last couple years. I can tell you this, It is 25 of us that have tickets and about 40-50 people that we tailgate with every home game that are not going to renew our tickets again. We made a decision that we are going to tailgate over each other homes every Sunday. When it time to renewing the season tickets keep track of all the new holders that are going to replace the old tickets holders. Keep in mind you are losing a lot of loyal tickets holders with the product and the raising the season tickets again.. As season tickets holders We want to know why?

It obviously costs more if you lose. You keep raising prices and we win fewer games. You hired Mora, you fired Mora, and we get stuck with the last 2 years of his contract!! I haven’t decided if I am going to renew or not. We WON 3 home games this year and you want us to pay MORE for LESS! Not good marketing Arthur. Keep in mind when those 30,000 or so people signed up for the waiting list, tickets were much cheaper.

I’ll tell you something else. I tailgate every game. I can buy a 6pack of beer for $7 I just cannot understand why anyone would ever want to pay $7 for a beer it’s just crazy, I drink mine before & after the game. Prices will never go down because you will never get enough people to support the high prices and not buy. If people didn’t buy beer for 2-3 games one or two things will happen the prices will go down or the prices will go down. People should stand up and unite for what you feel is right.

Bring your own beer, stop supporting the high prices. Stop getting the shaft.

In 1966 I was in Redskins fan in Vietnam when my wife bought my fist Falcon season tickets for me it was 1970 before I could use them. My kids grew up watching the team as well as many friend raised their families in the parking lot at old Fulton County before and after games. When there were only 5000 seats filled in the stadium we were in them When we moved to the new stadium I was forced to cut back on seats and was screwd with the new seating as they said the computer fried the old records. Finally got decent seats to years later. And have had them ever since. I get to only a couple a games a year as I have been living in Fla since 95 fighting off Jaquar, Bucs, and Dolphin fans and don’t forget the Gators but I am still a falcon fan , Thin times more so then thick have depressed me but it has not stopped me. Mr. Blank, You say you’re interested in he fans and that you pay attention to how we feel. Well, if you read these blogs it is pretty evident what the fans feel about ticket prices being raised. For 18 years we have traveled to watch the games - ticket prices, parking, hotel bill, food, drink, gas and now we are really going to have to think hard and budget hard to be able to still come. Just like every other sport the middle income families are soon not going to be able to attend any games. Not everyone has millions to spend to do anything they want. Very disappointed.

Michael Vick alone put this losing franchise on the national map, caused 20,000 people to wait on a list for season tickets and is as electifying a player that has ever played the game. If the o-line had protected and the receivers had caught, you would have called him the second coming. Pay the damn ticket increase and be thankful you have something to b*** about.

I have no doubt at all A. Blanks dedication to building the Falcons. Unfortunately I didn’t see that dedication on the field by the Falcons at home most of the year. To lose to the Browns and Carolina the way they did was inexcusable. Thats the real reason why most are upset. 8-8 last year and follow up with 7-9 and ask for an increase. It just rubs you the wrong way. Don’t p** down my back and tell me its raining. I am not a person who is calling for Vick to be traded or benched, but I don’t like where his head is at right now. He doesn’t and some of his comments are disturbing. It used to be I just knew we could count on him to bring the Falcons back in any situation, for whatever reason thats not happening anymore. I hope Petrino can help him get his grove back. Say what you will about Matt Schaub, at least hes throw a 4th quarter TD pass in the past 2 years….HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE????

I have been a season ticket holder since 1989. Over the last four years or so my tickets have gone up from about $35 to about $80. And all along all the nice things he brought to woo the fan base back is slowly being eroded - bands in the Gulch, nice banners everywhere, discounts for season ticket holders in the Dome, quality talent at halftime, nice giveaways at each game, comprehensive fact books each year… the list goes on and on.

Since profit is paramount over season ticket holder loyalty, I am moving my tickets from a cost center to a profit center. I will work on the same laws of supply and demand that Blank works on - and I will buy my season tickets and turn around and sell them to the highest bidder.

How disappointing.

It’s a big business, plain and simple- stop thinking about this as a civic venture for the “atlantans” (how many native atlantans are actually out there?)to rally behind. But i would say this, any or you clowns who criticize people for selling their game tickets to specific high-interest games to the highest bidder irrational, unreasonable, and mired in be-true-to-your-school nostalgia. the market is the market; caveat emptor.

Iceman what do you mean by Vick will not succeed until he is more accurate. Its amazing that it seems that Vick is the only QB in the league that needs to improve his accuracy. What about his recievers need to catch the ball.

Darth Vader and Bucko why don’t the two of you take your hoods off before you post. Yes u better get use to our RB-QB for he is the man. Sorry that u and your kkk buddy can not accept that. I can give you 130 million reason why you should. Listen Vick gets on that field every week and bust his a$$ trying to win games even for rednecks like you so please try to accept him with the proper coaching and other players stepping up we will be where we need to be alot quicker than you think. So why don’t you pretend he is like one of your hunting buddies that way you can look beyond his skin and give him the due time he needs to succeed.

Falcons season ticket prices are below the league average?

Well, the Falcons performance has also been below the league average. On a couple of occasions this year (Christmas Eve, anyone?) its performance was downright putrid.

You have no right to charge us more until you give us a product worth paying for.

If the Falcons don’t like seeing thousands of seats filled by fans of the visiting team, they need to stop making season ticket holders resell a couple of games each year to ticket brokers just to be able to afford the seats.

Please keep raising the ticket prices Mr. Blank. It’s like a tax on the stupid.. as long as they are spending all of there extra cash worshiping the fake idol Ron Mexico, they at least can’t down a couple of 40’s and crash into me on 285.

Some suggestions for commercials:

“The Falcon lottery, where nobody’s a winner”

“We can’t win if you don’t pay”

“Hey, 120 million doesn’t buy you much of a quarterback these days”

Now that everyone has vented, lets all just go down to Zoo Atlanta tommorrow and see Mei Lan. She is a beautiful creature and well deserves all the attention she can get. I’m excited, aren’t you?

This is outright wrong. Every year he raises prices and we have yet to see a sustained improvement in winning games. He gives away the seats that are in the nosebleed sections and raises the prices for everyone else. It is getting harder to be a fan.

To all of those idiots (you know, the one’s who keep screaming that tired old phrase, “hater” and that can’t write an intelligent sentence)that keep saying ” before MV, the stands were half full” I say, who gives a crap about the half full stands at the dome? Are we supposed to feel better that Arthur Blank is making millions off some half-a$$’ed quarterback who is mentally slow and who is, after 6 years, a worse player than he was when he started?

VickHumper,

No one said Vick is the only QB in the league that needs to improve his accuracy. He’s the QB here dumba$$$! This is a falcons blog, so therefore we talk about the falcons QB. Apparently you haven’t looked at his completion percentages this year. Even if the recievers didn’t drop the ball, it would be still be lower than it should. Why do you get so upset when someone says anything about Vick? He has said himself that he wants to be more accurate. You’re a dumbwitted butt kissing bandit.

Now I’ve had enough!

Will all of you that think that Mike Vick is slow, please reveal where you learned his I.Q. and reveal it to us. While you’re at it, reveal your own I.Q. Seems to me what you doing is calling him slow based on your perceptions. And, I might add, those perceptions just may be biased.

I’m not calling you a hater, because as it is, you think you’re right. I’m just trying to get you all to see, that you don’t really know. Your constant criticism only suggests bias. So watch what you say!

My perception has always been that athletes weren’t the most intelligent. My perception of Terry Bradshaw is that he isn’t that intelligent; however, I could be wrong.

I enjoy sports for entertainment. While watching sometimes I’ll have to watch my language because I get caught up in the excitment. I don’t think we have a sports team so that we can use the sports blog to denigrate others. I don’t know, but is that what happens when you get caught up in the excitement. If you want to keep it real, use stats, use examples of plays, but calling individuals slow only shows what type of person you are.

And one more thing!

This blog is about the rising ticket prices for Falcon’s games. Can someone explain to me how using sexual innuendo fits. Kids could be on this blog. Most of you wonder whats happening to the world, well it starts with us.

The rest of the bloggers that want to talk sports may tune you out, but some kids do not. Learn how to keep it clean even if it doesn’t come natural.

Nardelli, Price, Vick, Mora, … Hey Blank; you are supposed to Under Promise and Over Deliver, NOT Over Pay and Under Deliver!! Quit writing big checks for people who can’t get the job done and then asking us to pay for it.

Regarding season tickets, why would I buy them again when 2 of the games are preseason that I don’t care about, they keep raising the prices, beer is over-priced (but honestly it is in line with other venues), food is almost as bad as the team, and there are at least 100 scalpers selling tickets before the game? I’ve had my tickets (4) years and considering how pathetic they have played at home the last two years, I don’t see a renewal in my future.

I would also bet that 1/2 that waiting list evaporates when they call and tell them what seats are available and the price they cost. After all, have you ever heard of someone calling to be taken OFF a waiting list???
