Not Good! Where is the running game? These are still the Saints. RUN, RUN, and KEEP RUNNING! These Falcons look like the Falcons of 2003! They had better get it together and at least try to act like they belo0ng on top of the divison.

relax everyone….weve known since they started building this thing up how the saints would win.
The falcons WONT get a single call, the entire nation wants them to lose, and the announcers are the worst I have EVER heard.
The saints will be handed this, its the feel good story of the year…after this 3-0 start they will go 5-8 and miss the playoffs. its rigged, wait till next week.
And the heck with all of you stinkin new orleans fans….you all suck

Another Blocked Kick! It is time to fire Joe D! You have to be kidding! Carolina and Tampa must be pretty bad. I cannot believe we are getting it handed to us by a 3-13 team. No prepreation for this game. Much like the Dawgs on sat. So what about the emotion. We have play maker on our team who are not doing their job.

Where is the Falcons pass defense? I think the run defense is doing okay considering the Saints good running game, but there’s no excuse for the messy pass defense.
And where did the run go? Is this just because the Saints are stuffing it?
I am confused…..
Before this game I thought it could go either way, maybe tipped towards the Saints because of emotion, so I won’t be torn up over a loss here. But the Falcons look messy.
One thing….perhaps all those misses really weren’t so much Keonen’s fault. Does anyone think our kickers aren’t getting the right blocks?

We have the worst passing quarterback in the league. The best rushing offense in the league. Yet on 1st and goal from the 1 we don’t run it?????????????????? The way Vick is playing, he should be benched for at least a series. But he won’t be when we have 100 million wasted on him.

It is so obvious - whether we are winning or we are losing, that this team lacks good coaching. Lack of discipline, inconsistent fundamentals, and total cluelessness when it comes to adapting to our opponents during the game. I don’t mind losing from time to time, every team does, but I hate to watch the Falcons hand the game to an inferior team.

I think it is time to put shaub in. Vick can’t function from the pocket. The Falcons were running a college option offense for him, but tonight we’re seeing the weakness of that attack. Pro teams are just too fast for it. The only way it works is as a gimmick to surprise teams. I think Carolina and Tampa were surprised by it, but the Aints are not.

STephen, I am asking you nicely to stop trashing my home city. I am a Falcons fan but I am a New Orleanian forever. I have a cousin who is a NOLA police officer. I have aunts and uncles and cousins who DID leave but they still lost everything. I don’t think you know what you’re talking about because MOST people DID evacuate. Evacuation did NOT stop the floodwaters.
Besides, with your words you are trashing the poor and downtrodden. They’re the ones who didn’t leave, mostly because they didn’t have the resources to do so. The poor and the elderly, that’s who you insult. Not nice.
Keep this between the hash marks please.

We were 2-0 with Vick at QB only because he didn’t have to throw the ball. Put 8 or 9 guys in the box, shut down our running game and kick our @$$. Vick is no QB. I admit, Crump dropped 2 or 3 easy ones, but the others, Vick missed badly. He sux at passing, and we’ll never win the big game with him at QB.

Well, the Falcons are getting blown out, no surprise here. The offense is playing about last the last two weeks, the only difference tonight is that the Defense is not playing well and picking up the slack. The offense has been inept all season and now it is really showing when they play a decent team. Without Abraham, there is not pass rush, just like last week.

However, I do agree that the announcers are overdoing the Recovery thing. I loved watching all the footage and the concert before the game and I’d love to see more after, but not during.
However, I wish everyone would go down there to see the city. To see what it is you’re really trashing.

STephen, I live in the ATL now. I agree, that money should go to rebuild the city, homes, and schools.
So use your vote to make that happen.
Besides, the tragedy that was the US Army Corp Levees has been decades in the making. Decades of corrupt LA governors. Decades of oil companies paying off politicians. Before either one of us was likely born.

I thought the Saints would lead at the half on emotion, etc. But, not by 17 points. Tough to overcome. We are being outplayed in all phases of the game and dare I say, out coached.
Come back is a remote possibility but it will be interesting to see what the Falcons are made of! Lets watch and hope!

I can’t watch the sappy commentary. I’ve got the TV turned down and am listening to the radio. Frankly, I think most people watching don’t care about the game at all. And while I have sympathy for the people who lost so much and suffered, there were also people who took advantage of the situation to steal from the government and relief agencies. And I think a large segment of the population resents the billions of tax dollars that are being spent to rebuild in a flood prone area. Many resent the fact that so many have suffered because of the incompetent management of the city, and now all of America is paying for their mistakes. And now we have to have all that rubbed in our faces so that ESPN and their advertisers can make a huge profit. Help the poor, but don’t forget that there are two sides to every issue.

Yeah, the team is playing badly. But you have to give the ain’t credit. They are playing hard on emotion. It won’t be long before the league figures out what they are doing with the new coach there. Unfortunately, the Falcons are being hit with emotion, refs that aren’t calling a game, and a basically brand new Aint’s team playbook. The falcs look like they have given up, and this is a boring game.

i cant take listening to tony cornhizer anymore. he is the worst! why isnt vick rolling out? where are all of the plays that made us 2 and 0 in the first 2 games.. vick is again trying to be a pocket passer and we are also not trying to run the ball. 1st and goal on the 2 and we dont run 4 times. we try to pass and get sacked for an 8 yard loss. i dont know which is worse, the announcers, or the falcons getting blown out!

As I have said on here for three years in a row. Michael Vick will never win a championship because he can’t pass. A game like this you have to be able to pass when you are down by more than 14. Put the Falcon Kool-Aid down homers.

pass routes routes the reciver are very weak. Vick is throws the ball fine . Atlanta look how the reciver run Poor routes. No slants Knapp play calling as for passing routes gooes. If they stop the run the pass has to work but the coaches has to work on detail routes the reciver run.I have been saying the routes are so weak to be pro,s.Knapp this is you job the routes are weak weak! What I want to know is WHY the Falcons are playing zone? Especially since it’s not working!!!!
I mean, at least TRY man-on. It can’t possibly be worse.
Vick needs to stop passing in the pocket. He’s no good at it. He’s great at passing in clutch situations and on the run. And he’s great running. He needs to stick to that.

I think the O-Line is one of our weaknesses. A gap firing defense with 9 in the box kills the line because they can’t pass block. And because they can’t run block and open holes man to man, we can’t get it going. Vick can’t pass a fade, and the receivers can’t get open. Vick can’t pass under pressure. Put Shaub in!

The ESPN broadcasters and the whole nation as a whole has kissed New Orleans’ a* for the last year. Then, we have to listen to Spike Lee’s stupid mouth. I just say ok, here was the bump in the road, let’s move on to Arizona on Sunday. Vick is not rolling out because the Aint’s are in the back field on every play. They are rushing the edges, keeping Vick in the pocket. Our O-Line can’t block.
We are probably playing zone because the CB’s are that poor at playing man to man.
There goes a flag…again, it is against the falcons. The Ain’t are playing a perfect game tonight. It’s funny how the refs don’t see all that holding going on.

Time to take out Stafford…I mean Vick and put in Cox….I mean Schaub. Could be our only chance. Defense will get worse as they spend more time on the field.
This looks like a Falcons pre-season game. Inexcusable given the time they had to prepare for this game. Looks like the Falcons will go as Abraham goes and right now he is going nowhere. We can only hope that Abraham is close to coming back.

Yeah but zone isn’t working so I can’t imagine that man-on is worse. I don’t know if that’s proper terminology for it…it’s what we called it in soccer.
Anyway, this game is in the tank. Stinky.
However, I don’t think it’s indicative of the season. I am not surprised because of the emotional edge. Remember the season opener against the Eagles? Same thing, but we had that edge then.

Took 3 weeks, but the REAL Falcons finally showed up. They can’t come from behind since they have no downfield passing game. Their best receiver looks like the Michelin Man. And Vick is, as usual, clueless. The only bowl this team is fit for is the Toilet.

No doubt, New Orleans has a reputation, but Katrina was an awful storm and NOBODY deserved what those folks have been through. I suggest that some of you that posted that garbage on here need to take a trip down there and HELP those people out. Yeah, we got a raw deal on this game as Falcons fans, but let’s not get SO personal. That is completely LAME!

Hey Willster don’t forget about the 5th year ann. special about Katrina hosted by none other than the best announcers in football, the monday night team. UHHHHGGGG! I mean am I wrong when I say that John Madden was weird but at least he talked about football. This announcing team ranks up there with mistakes like bringing Dennis Miller in or Geraldo opening Al Capone’s vault. Why not have the Boomer do the commentating. They are not even calling the play by play.

As if the falcons didn’t seem to be trying to do the politically correct thing and lose intentionally, now we have Spike Lee joining the damn sports announcers receiving praises for his race baiting, slanted, rediculous movie he made about New Orleans. So we now have to put up with ignorant people who did not have the barest of common sense to leave when a hurricaine was coming, and a bigot who feels the rest of the country owes them a place to live, free food, free health care, fee housing, et cet. in spite of their blatant stupidity.

Hey, the Falcons came out and got overwhelmed by the emotion. The refs might as well be wearing gold. Vick’s not passing well, nothing’s going right. Just sit down Vick, give him the “us against the world” pep talk and then let him do what he does best: use his legs and improvise. If the can’t come from behind, at least it would be interesting to watch.

I didn’t notice the wrestling angle to this game until this blog. The pass interference call against the Falcons that had to be overturned on replay, the pass interference call on the Saints that was waved off and the Saints’ left tackle lining up offsides and moving early on every play. WOW … it seems the Falcons were forced to do a job tonight.

We can’t stop the run? What year is this? Have we time warped back to 2005?
The D has been out there too long. We need to put Shaub in on the next series and “protect” Vick. Or…we should put in our second string O-Line and see what they could do to protect Vick.
Our offensive playing calling has been terrible. Thanks Knapp. Thanks Mora for the inspired defensive calls. Thanks players for looking like crap tonight…getting your butts thrown all over the field.

The problem with some of you all is that you have no faith. You want Matt to come in at the first bad game that Vick has. Would you have been calling for the benching of Brett Favre when he threw 6 interceptions in a game? Probably not. The falcons are just have a bad game and its coming on Monday for all to see. Remember that no one has gone undefeated since the Dolphins. Everybody has lost at least one ever since, even the Super Bowl champs. So get off your high horse and suppor the team or get of the board!

This is the same old story, no in game adjustments, no defense at all, no kicking game, and no discipline. How much longer will we allow Coach Mora and his band of idiots to run on eof the most talented teams into the ground. He proves over and over again he is not a good NFL coach. The falcons run the same plays week in and week out, and when they don’t work they continue to run them. 8-8 at best this year folks because we have a lot of teams a lot better than the saints to play.

And 97 and 56 are fine. However, the defense is simply exhausted because they’ve been out there for something like 45 minutes…..football minutes…or something.
Boy, 97 sure does have one THICK set of legs! The reality of that is even more cool when you consider they look that big on a man who’s 6’6”….I’m impressed.

The NFL is rigged. You can all agree with me if you are watching Monday Night Football. Falcons vs. Saints….The NFL and t.v. is all about money and ratings. They rig big games based on what the majority of America wants to see. This game was easy to fix. What would draw more ratings? The Saints getting blown out, or the Saints winning their storybook home opener since f*** katrina? Exactly, the majority wants to see the storybook ending unfold. Here are some legit points.
Mike Vick running to left side (the side where all the saints were) and ghost fumbling. Which was meant for the saints to pick up and run it back. Ahh, the plan was foiled…They knocked the ball out of bounds.
The punt getting blocked for the touchdown the very next play to make up for the Saints not picking up the first intended touchdown fumble. The center just turned away and stood there.
Alge Crumpler dropping not 1, but 2 TD passes. The 2nd one was WIDE F*** open. He had it and as he was coming down, he somehow let if go out of his hands??? HELL NO THAT DONT HAPPEN!
D Hall getting hurt and limping off the field after he got up after the play and was fine. He later came back perfectly fine.
Vick not having any time to throw the ball when the Saints don’t even have a good D-line.
Vick not scambling….EVER!
Dunn and the running game being shut down by the worst D we’ve played all year. Funny to me we rushed for over 500 yards against CAROLINA and TAMPA. Both top 5 D’s last year.
The field goal getting blocked.
The non pass interference call on Lelie when he was manhandled. To make it worse, a flag was f*** thrown on the play yet they still said it was a no call.
Falcons having to use a challenge and burn a timeout on a miscall on the field.
Plus wayyyy more b******….

Words cannot express how frustrated I am with this pathetic diplay. Jim Mora’s a** should be chastened by Blank as well as that of his staff. They were poorly prepared and have let a team that won’t win 9 games this year make them look like chumps on national television. They are an embarrassment to the the city, state, and region. It looks like the hurricane hit Atlanta and not the other way around.

Roddy White, why did we waste a draft pick on you? Has anyone seen Hartwell? The reason the Falcons suck is because of coaching. Greg Knapp is a complete fool who couldnt call a game for most high school teams, Ed Donatell is a Green Bay reject who only knows how to play zone, that seems to work well! Mora is just like his father who lets his emotions dictate his coaching, therefore he sucks. Also, Vick reads defenses about as well as he reads books. Every year we think this team is going to be better, and every year we fall on our faces. Great organization Blank. Get some receivers and pass rush idiot!

Ugh. This is horrible to watch. I think the Falcons should get an apology letter from the NFL for making this like a Superbowl home game for the Saints. Completely biased coverage. A ridiculous amount of ego-stroking for the Saints and their fans. It’s out of control. It’s a feel-good story for everyone but the Falcons and their fans. It’s the Falcons versus the Saints, ESPN, the NFL and the rest of the U.S.

Our O-Line can’t block one on one…They are zone blockers. And sorry, but calling that last play pass interference was lame. I thought DB’s weren’t allowed to hand check down the field. Funny, the refs aren’t calling that so when a receiver puts his hand out he is called for a push?
How many examples of this one-sided crap will we see tonight? Of course, the league overlooks the games they rigged.

i agree that the game was uphill from the start. However I never felt that Altanta had their head in the game. no one stepped up. Ultimately this was a pressure game, much like a championship game would be, especially on the road. Atlanta is just not ready for primetime.
I do not know who to blame. I know that new orleans is not a good team and will struggle to finish .500. So what does that make atlanta.

Can’t believe so many of you are blaming the refs for this game. The real problem is that the Falcons are playing TERRIBLE! Not even the refs could have hurt them any worse that they are hurting themselves.

No problem Dre. The thing that I realize from reading this board is that so many people on here think they know everything about football when they obviously don’t. People the passing game does not start and end with the quaterback! Your receivers HAVE to create space and separation from the DB’s to give the QB an area to throw the ball. That is not happening tonight. Jenkins and White look sluggish and Alge is not having the greatest game. It happens like that though sometimes in football. Don;t forget the fact that we had no running game tonight. So when you have no running game, the defense can bring in 5 or 6 DB’s and just basically dare you to pass. That is what the Saints have done to us tonight and it has worked great. my hat is off to the Saints for playing a good solid game of football tonight and riding their emotion to a win. Lets get ready as Falcon fans though for Arizona on Sunday!

No problem Dre. The thing that I realize from reading this board is that so many people on here think they know everything about football when they obviously don’t. And another thing… how many houses could $185 million re-build? That was the cost to renovate the super-flying saucer. My guess is that some of those poor folks in NO could use a little of that money.

I thought the game would be up hill tonight. Emotion was on the side of new orleans. however this is the kind of pressure game that atlanta will face down the road, especially in a championship game. tonight the showed they were not ready. consider that new orleans is at best a .500 team and that they will lose to carolina next week. where does that put atlanta?

The Saints just issued the defensive blueprint for every team that Atlanta plays this year. Could get ugly from here folks. Our coaches have to be the absolute worst at making in-game adjustments. If their original gameplan doesn’t work, the team is doomed for a loss.

Same old Falcons! Michael Vick is not worth a da** when it counts, and Jim Mora’s coaching leaves a lot to be desired. Arthur Blank needs to be very concerned and ready to do some wholesale housecleaning.
I have followed this team since 1966, and it continues to be the worst franchise in the NFL. Why can’t Atlanta have a decent NFL team?

Thank God that with everything that needs to be done in New Orleans they went and waisted all that cash repairing the dome so some boring a** football can be played. Who needs schools? I don’t know whats more sad about this game, the Falcons not showing up, or the fact that 99% of the crowd in the dome tonight were not stranded in the dome last september…..looks like the ones who were there were the ones who could afford to get out before the disaster….and the ones who could afford to pay to get back to N.O. for this game….what a sad side show this was.

As a true Falcons fan let me say this.. The game WAS not rigged, The Falcons as a team cannot handle big time pressure, i.e. Super Bowl.. And its not Vick, hes been under the scope his entire career, its the TEAM!! Also Atlanta gave up real early and Roddy White is trash!! M. Jenkins is a solid reciever but Roddy White is Trash!!
We should trade Hartwell for a 6th round draft pick

The pity party was IN HERE… and all the talk about the game being rigged blah blah blah… I had season tickets to the Falcons during the late 90’s and loved going to them and I have always pulled for the Falcons after the Saints so get off your high horse. You got outplayed tonight and that’s the bottom line. The game was not rigged, the Saints got calls against them just like the Falcons did… I know when I see bad refs - like last Saturday night in AUBURN. But you can’t blame the New Orleans pity party for the Falcons’ loss tonight. They lost all by themselves. By the way, the first two scores by the Saints were on college style plays. Goodnight!

Did I miss the memo that specifically said the Falcons would lay and egg in this game. Is this still preseason? I must have missed it because what I saw tonight was a total embarrassment! I saw a bunch of guys so concerned about how everyone would think of them if they beat the Saints they practically-NO-they GAVE the game to the Saints. Where was the sense of urgency in on the faces of Warrick Dunn and Vick? Dunn, by the way I am sure is not too sad he took one for the team-the Saints that is. Is it just me or did it look like Crumpler and the recievers refused to catch anything tonight? Algea practically batted the ball he had in the end zone. Micheal Jenkins HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!! There is no way this clown is an NFL wide reciever. Lelie, I know you must regret leaving Denver. Vick, for the absolute last time please learn how to read the defense and throw a decent ball! Mora and his coaching staff should issue and apology for failing to tell Falcons fans that this pre-arranged choreography of a football game was to take place. Thanks for a night wasted. Detractrors may say the decision to watch was all mine but I say I watched to support my team. What I, what we the falcons fans saw was the most staged game since Shoeless Joe and the Whitesox.

Well, it is safe to say that Vick did a nice job of adding to his already bad national perception by not being able to hit any receivers, shocking I know. Vick was not good with Dan R. and is not good with Mora, is coaching really the problem? Vick is basically a faster Randall Cunningham but worse passer. Looks like another Atlanta team failing to shine in the national spotlight, ie Braves, Bulldogs, thanks guys!

One more thing - the money those “poor folks” could use to rebuild rather than spend so much money on the Superdome? Money is being received but many of those “poor folks” aren’t spending it to rebuild their houses. Those “poor folks” will spend it on anything else and then continue to whine about how they’re not getting enough help. The Dome needed to be rebuilt to keep money coming into New Orleans. That was one of the main goals which has been explained ad nauseum. Bottom line - The blame for the loss belongs only to the Falcons and bringing up other crap is ridiculous.

Apparently we didn’t have a game plan; If they did they must have left it at the hotel. There was very little motivation; receivers not making an effort to get open and hang on to the ball; our offensive line didn’t show up. You could tell as soon as we took the kickoff, we were in trouble. WE JUST FLAT OUT SUCKED!
Mora should have substituted for other players once we passed the 3rd quarter. We might have scored a few more points saving what little dignity that was left. NO WE SUCKED TO THE FINAL PLAY! This is not the same team from the previous 2 weeks!

Well, we’re still the better team on paper. That’s why we play the game I guess. Sean Payton is a pretty good coach. OC from the 49er’s, huh? Well, we’ll gett ‘em next time. The whole night and country was totally against the Falcons tonight. Knapp didn’t have the ability to adjust the offense to the safety spies on Vick. Our 250lb O-lineman (except Gandy) can’t stand in there and block when we have to open up the pass. We need more pieces if we’re going to get deep into the playoffs. This loss is our gift to the New Orleans area for the devestation of Katrina.

That was absolutely frustrating. The offense is just horrible. Vick comes to the bench and stares off into outer space. There doesn’t seem to be any chemistry between Vick and Knapp. Why aren’t they discussing a revised gameplan. Vick just sits on the bench and looks like a lost puppy. His confidence is very fragile. I hope he gets on track quick or we could be in for another long season.

Horrible game plan. Knapp sucks period, and dang, the Defense looked like last years. Webster sucks those 15 yard cushions are hard to keep watching. No pass rush, and whoever said we wouldn’t miss Duckett at the goal line doesn’t know football. Man, did you see all those damn drops and lack of fight for the ball by Roddy and Jenkins, not to mention Crump. I think we see why Vick has tunnel vision for Crumpler though. Did you see how they used Bush and Deuce and Norwood was freaking invisible for us. Knapp is freaking useless and Mora is and was the wrong man for this job. Lovie got screwed and is doing more with way less than Mora inherited.

First, pardon my previous typos and mis-spellings… Our offense is very easy to predict. With the hype of the game, we couldn’t handle the pressure. And remember the Seahawks choked last year and with Sean Alexander out with that broken foot, y’all will really be sleepless in seattle when y’all don’t even make it to the playoffs without him! I’ve always said Knapp needs to go… And Donatell needs to stop giving receivers 10-15 yards of space! We can’t win if we can’t protect Vick. Not one turnover! Father Abraham, where are you?!!!

I’m done.
Been a Falcon fan for 30+ years but much like I did with the Braves, have decided that perhaps putting all my ‘hopes’ and energy, allegience and enthusiasm in the hands of one group of total strangers isn’t a very healthy outlet afterall.
I’ll still watch games on occassion for the love I have for the sport, but tonight taught me that being too high or too low after a win or loss by something as esoteric as ‘my team’ is simply INSANE.
To summarize: most fans are idiots, Vick is the most overrated thing since the wonderbra, the coaching staff is clueless, and Atlanta sports teams are the equivalent of a very beautiful woman that smiles at you…with no teeth.

Boo! Horrible effort on all parts. The offense didn’t adjust to their defense stopping the option. Dropped passes, bad passes, bad play calling, etc. On defense, no coverage, no tackling. Special team was not special. So overall, to restate again what everybody has already said, EVERYBODY STINKED TONIGHT!
But, what I noticed more than anything else was NO LEADERSHIP on the sidelines! NO ONE was up talking or SHOUTING at teamates to help keep their confidence up. NO ONE stepped up to be the vocal leader to keep everyone’s head in the game. Michael Vick sat over there pouting. He has to continually talk to the offense to keep them encouraged and their heads in the game.
Some personal notes: D. Hall need to shut up with all the yapping and just play defense.
Brooking in the middle is not going to work. Every running play the Saints doubled Jackson and went after Brooking.
I have to give the Saints credit for playing a good game, but we helped them with this win with the dropped passes, fumble, blocked punts and FG’s.

First of all, I’m so sick of everyone jumping on the same people on our team everytime we lose. Do you really expect the Falcons to go 16-0? We all know that the Saints are a sorry a$# team, than haven’t been sh%$ for the past twenty years, and according to my watch, and the competition in this league, they will continue to never be sh%$!!!
It’s too bad that the Falcons had to play in a game where people are still lingering on a fu#$in disaster, and if we would have won, then we would probably be the most hated football team in America next to the Patriots.
Mora, Knapp, and Donatell, are three of the worst coaches in the NFL, and it carries out on the field to the players. ESPN has been showing the damn option play the Falcons mastered on Tampa last week about a 100 times. Why in the hell, would you try to run the same damn play 5 times tonight, with any aspirations that it would possibly work without the Saints being prepared.
As far as Vick, although he does have the tendency to overthrow the ball in the pocket, a lot of our receivers were either dropping sh#$ when they got open, or couldn’t get open at all. I think it is about time that Ashley Lelie is named to the first team offense, because is the only wide receiver who has impressed me with his play this season.
Matt Leinart is starting his first game next week, so we should continue to let Abraham, and Hartwell rest so they can come back in two weeks after the BYE healthy and fresh along with Kerney; who I praise greatly tonight, because even with the arm injury he battled through it and gave it his all.
Falcon Fans. Let us not get on these blogs and criticize our team after a loss. We all know that New Orleans is still a pretender and not a contender. Let’s just beat the shi# out of their a@# when they come to the dome, and win all of our games that should be won. (Such as next Sunday against the Cardinals) Falcons, you have my support, and let’s just go out there and take our anger out on the Cardinals next Sunday, and welcome Matt Leinart to the NFL!

Every NFL Defensive Coordinator will be looking at the film of this game. They know how to out-fox a college offensive scheme. When the run, run-option is shut down and you don’t have a QB that can pass the ball you’re up the creek without a paddle.

Blaming Vick for this game is just plain stupid. I have been very critical of him in the past and so was surprised to see that most of his passes were on point(not all, he’s not known for his accuracy), but better than in the past. What absolutely shocked me was how HORRIBLE the recievers played. If they weren’t dropping balls then they could not break away and get open to save their life. I cannot believe the draft picks we have wrapped up in these guys….it is a complete joke. Oh and another thing, whenever our gameplan isn’t working, we either make NO adjustments on offense or maybe we don’t have any adjustments to make? Knapp? Hello? Good grief this was completely embarrasing! And lastly Jennifer was right, our secondary was giving out yardage like it was a FEMA food line!

Let’s give an honest analysis of the game without the usual Vick Sucks or Falcon sucks comments..
Keys to the loss: * Our players & coaching staff believed the bullish hype from “Falcons Vent” * Saints wanted it more * Saints may have found the antidote to our rushing offense * Extremely POOR Special teams play * Receivers couldn’t catch a cold * Receivers couldn’t create separation to take advantage of man coverage. * Coaching staff did not prepare the team well AT ALL * Coaching staff does not know how to make in-game adjustments OR there is never a PLAN B ready to go. * The constant threat of 2 good backs weakened the defense. As far as #7, you get what you get. When the running game works, he is fabulous. When it doesn’t, he looks stupid. That game reminded me of the 04 NFC Championship game. But I don’t really put that on Vick, I put that more on the coaching staff .

The question is not “Who called Vick a #$$$$$$$$$$$” the question is who called that #$#$#$##$$ a quarterback ! Did the Falcon’s leave their offensive line at home ? Did someone slip a mickey finn in the defenses milk? Which Falcon’s team will play next week ? Don’t mean to sound mad or anything, but when you’re paid that kind of money, you should at least make an appearance at the game ! If I were you guys, I would give all my pay check for the game to the New Orleans relief fund….and yes, I’m really a die hard Falcon’s Fan…

Simply put, the game was set up for loss by the NFL but the Falcons allowed it to happen.
Disgraceful on behalf of the special teams and offense tonight. They looked pitiful.
As for New Orleans, its a piece of trash city that should have never existed. Below sea level, simply STUPID. They needed a good cleaning out and from the looks of the fans at the SuperDome tonight, it has happened.
Unfortunately, those poor bastards have moved to Atlanta and that I dont like. Go Home to your piece of crap city and wait for the next hurricane.
New Orleans should not have been rebuilt only to be taken down again sometime in the future. I resent my tax dollars going to such as waste. Its high time we let our States become more Soverign, I say the Hell with the rest of the Country.

This coaching staff just does not have week to week good gameplans. What the hell was all that pocket crap. The defense and that zone BS ain’t going to work without Abe. Hartwell, forget about him he wasn’t effective when he was healthy which no one can remember that far back anyhow. Webster sucks I would take my chances with Jimmy Williams. Knapp just doesn’t have the creativity, if the Facons spead the field in the Redzone how in the heck could you stop them. Teams are going to stop falling for the play action because they know the it’s just a gimmick. The play calling leaves Vick in touch situations and all the coverage is sitting underneath for all that dinking and dunking. The refs had an agenda, thats for sure undeniable and that field is going to ruin Bush’s and Duece’s careers if they don’t do something about it. But the team was ill prepared and thats becoming a recurring theme under boy wonder. Man. we need a real coach while Vick is in his prime, a bad hire!

Falcon fans are so funny to me. Let’s see, in over 30 plus years of their existence in the NFL, the Falcons have had exactly TWO quarterbacks that have ever taken then to the NFC championship. One of them was Vick. Everybody chill out, it’s only game 3.

We were completely outclassed on both sides of the ball and thoroughly out coached. The offense looked as if they were in slow motion against the Saints D. A pathetic effort all around. 8-8 again or 9-7 if we can get it up for the Saints the second go around.

What all Falcons fans need to do is thank the NFL for the “trap” game we got given to us. Also, yes the refs gave the saints the “home cooking’ to help them out. I thought a QB taking a shot below the knee was now illegal? Evidently, you have to have the last name Palmer,Brady or Manning to get that call. Or Delhomme.Tugging on the back of a pass catchers jersey is pass interference, hitting a defenseless receiver a no-no.Remember when all of the defense was pointing, that was because the saints had false started. This game was rigged no doubt.
You wanna know why all these kicks keep getting blocked? When you let your long snapper of 6 years walk and allow a guy off the street to take his job, that’s what happens.
Vick can pass the ball all he wants, but as long as the WRs and TEs keep dropping them,it doesn’t matter.
Again,no slant patterns. We get to the goal line and pass instead of run.
Hey coaches, the gameplan to beat the other team is usually better when you plan something THEY HAVEN’T SEEN YOU DO YET. That spread offense wasn’t going to work every week.
And what ever happened to pulling a trick, gadget play every know and then?
That run on 1st down, run on 2nd down and pass on 3rd down gets old.
No way they win them all,and I had a feeling the SAINTS players wanted alot more. But the Falcons didn’t even try.Coaches and players alike had no passion.
And just like last years superbowl, this game was rigged to benefit what the majority wanted, not how it used to be when you had to earn it.With the refs homecooking help, sorry saints fans but you get no respect for me until you can earn it on the field without the 3 ring circus.

People…Please be informed that the Superdome was INSURED and was rebuilt with Insurance money, underbudget and ahead of schedule… not money that could have been spent to rebuild housing. Also, The Casinos rebuilt their own facilities with their own money, again, NOT with money that would otherwise have gone to rebuild housing.
Finally, it isn’t that the Falcons LOST this game, it IS that the Saints prepared well for them and had the most effective gameplan. Your team was simply outcoached.

We lost that game before we hit the field. The field was horrible. It slowed down our entire offense. Our offensive line couldn’t get the balance. When you cut, more than likely you fell down. Terrible.
In short, the Superdome beat the Falcons. The Saints were there to wipe us out.
Great story for the Saints, but if they went to a grassy field up the street and played this game, the Saints would’ve lost. Shoot, if the Falcons played them in the parking lot next to the Superdome, they would have beaten the Saints.
Well, we play them again on 11/26. There’s no turf problems in the Georgia Dome.

All you Vick haters need to relax. The first 2 weeks of the season everyone was all over Vick but now everyone is claiming he is so sorry. Did anyone thought the Falcons were going 16-0. No we didnt and I am a Falcons fan to the day I die. Remember this, behind every good quaterback, there is a great receiver. The wide recivers get paid millions of dollars, they need to act like it by making catches even when the ball is not thrown perfectly. The receivers is not producing at all. Ofcourse, the Saints played really well tonight. We have to give it to them. Our team just got beat all the way around but we still have 13 more games to play why worry about 1 lost. GO FALCONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is that we don’t have a passsing threat to put up enough points to win!! We’ve lead the league in running for 2 straight years going on 3 and that shows you that won’t do it. Our defense is not domininat enough to allow us to score 9- 14 points a game. We have to put up more points!!! The running game is good, but everything has to be damn near perfect for you to run go 60- 80 yards on each offensive possession. I WANT SAY THAT CHRIS CHANDLER IS ABETTER QUATERBACK THAN VICK, BUT HE MADE MORE DOWN FIELD PLAYS THAN VICK, SO YOU MADE THE FIELD SHORTER. THAT’S OUR PPROBLEM!!! Nothing Else!!!

The Saints basically revealed weakness in the Falcon offense tonight which is their passing game(It needs to be refined.). Due to the fact they won the last two games with their rush offense, their receivers were “rusty”(they dropped passes and did not run very smart routes or did not find a way to get open.) The Falcons have to establish a more balanced offense during their games. Maybe some of their games they should pass 50% or more to develop a more efficient passing attack. The Falcons pass defense will be ok once all their pass rushers are back healthy. The Special Teams play and defense needs some additional work though.

Congrgratulations Saints and Saint fans. That said Mike had a few drops by key players who had people all over them. The Ref’s only called penalties on the Saints that they couldn’t get away with NOT calling. #70 false started twice in the first qtr alone. Every time we went out for a pass the Saints defenders were all over us and pass interfierence was never called once. I don’t mind the loss. Give the Saints all the credit, they bet our butt’s. However it would have been nice to have some calls go our way. And by the way the hit Kerney put on Drew Brees was NOT helmet to helmet but 2 hands in the chest as he let the ball go which was NOT roughing the passer. GO FALCONS!!!

The only people that can’t be blamed for this one are Furman Bisher and Rankin Smith. That was hard to watch. Falcons offensive line is just fine for running, but I think West Georgia could pressure Vick when they try to pass protect. Receivers, it is ok to actually catch the ball, it will not bite you I promise. Both outside guys looked awful, surprised they didn’t drop their helmets, pads and jocks on the field as well. Lelie was the only one that at least made a play, and Alge, even you fell apart in New Orleans, that did surprise me. As for Vick, he is what he is, a great runner and average passer. He makes playes no one else in the world can make, and he makes some that leave you scratching your head. He will be that from now on, and that is fine, if the guys around him can help. The defense needs Hartwell and Abraham bad. No pass rush, and really no fire other than Boley and Brooking. Where has Kerney gone? And perhaps after having four kicks blocked (3 FG, 1 Punt) in the last two weeks, you might want to work on that before the next game.

Hey FireMora, I would not go as far to say that Vick is a dismal QB, its a matter of recievers creating space on good defensive schemes the Saints ran all night.
The Saints kept 2 defenders in the backside and front side hole all night to contain Vick on the run. Which means one on one coverage with 1 free safety. TSeveral deep balls thrown to Lelie -one on one coverage. Most off the balls were thron to Crup because he has the body to compensate for the separation that White, Jenkins and Lelie require to catch passes.
When balls are dropped by Crump, White falling down on routes for almost an interception for the Saints, Jenkins falling down on a cut back to the first down -give avenue for all fans and analyst to put the blame on Vick.
When Crump dropped that ball in the endzone, i knew the game would be lost. They lost the momentum, that would have killed all the hype in the dome and then get beable to buckle down to play football. they tried to get back in the zone, but passes kept getting dropped. There’s nothing he can do, he is at the mercy of the recievers, epecially his stats.

Two points: Falcons were out-coached and a few (very) bad calls (expected) spelled victory for New Orleans. The (black)birds will be just fine, starting with the (red) birds this Sunday. We can still be a playoff team if the offensive coordinator gets his head out…MIX IT UP PAL!! GO BIRDS

Again, Michael Vick showcases why he has neither the emotional nor intellectual tools to play quarterback successfully at the NFL level. In retrospect, we should never have made the trade to draft him - the irnoy is we could have had Drew Brees.

Hey FireMora, I would not go as far as you to say that Vick is a dismal QB, yet his stats are dismal (which the falcons and every pro football player in the league care the least about) due to recievers not making plays when the balls are thrown at them.
Crump dropped too many passes, especially the one in the endzone. That cost them the game and their momentem to kill the hype in the dome. that HURT. and he knows it. From then on, it was like trying to jump start a car with a blown alternator.
Recievers falling down on routes-all of these contribure to a poor passing game, not ppor accurate passes or timeless. Its a matter of CATCH THE BALL! The Falcons did not, so we lost. point blank. Of course, Vick will get most if not all the blame for the dropped passes, sacks, rushes, the running game, etc… of course that woudl go to his credit. dispite fans deceptability of honoring team play.
Its a shame as a fan that you claim you are to football, not to even mention these facts.

When is Mora going to realize that there are other players on the field that make up the TEAM. They will never win a super bowl when all they have is the Michael Vick show.We have some of the best receivers in the game and he can’t even hit the open man. (WHERE’S SHAUB!!!)

As a Falcon fan the people of New Orleans needed this event to help them from all the loss and hurt that they have endured. I think everyone in the Super Bowl wanted the Saints to win including our Falcon down deep in their hearts. Winning was not everything last night but the rebirth for the people of New Orleans and Saints fans. We don’t need to bash the Falcons with all the emotions experienced by everyone. December 24th will be a different ball game. We will take this setback and make a comeback….Go Falcons!

Fire Jim Mora. He doesn’t know what to do with Vick.
Vick is a passing tailback, not a running quarterback. Put Shockley in as Q, and have Vick be the double threat he is coming from behind. No defense in the world could withstand two run/pass combo threats making them a quadruple threat duo in the backfield.
Fire Mora.

It’s kind of scary to consider that the best Falcons QB since Steve Bartkowski has been riding the pine for three years behind a guy with the throwing touch of Godzilla. Vick is entertaining and definitely one of the most exciting players in the NFL, but he will NEVER take a team to the Super Bowl as a QB!

The whole game stunk. The team could have stayed home and mailed that performance in. The offensive line should study that game tape(PATHETIC). The defense (PATHETIC). We seem to lack determination, effort, and unit cohesiveness. I hope that last night was’nt a sign of things to come. Your performance was seen around the world. I have only one question - and this one comes from baseball, basketball, hockey or any other football team…. When the person throwing the ball can’t throw or gets overwhelmed and frustrated we always put in relievers or subs for gosh sakes. So why didn’t we go to the bench when we have several QB’s that would have at least changed the tempo - like maybe Shaub or even the rookie — uh what was his name Shockley? Georgia even saved their own bacon with a Hero Sub.

Brees would’ve never made it to see success in ATL with these fickle fans. Remember his first, oh, 3 years. He was a joke. We would have ridden him out of town because, after all, our past history is nothing but success, super bowls, and good times. How dare anyone lose around here. Mora, 21-14 is just unacceptable. Vick, 34-20-1 is bushleague. You guys better get that winning percentage up to 80-90% or I’ll be mad. I mean it!!!

There is many views of the Falcon Football Team; what fans wants to see is a good “all-out hard rocking game”, bottom line! Football is strange because as fans, you always want you hometeam to win…and, with that, we face many questions about how our team played and the mistakes they made; we sometime put them down and lease think about if they will make it to the playoffs or be in the running for the super-bowl making. Last night was a great game, the Saint play very well and at home, they are hard to be and the Saints focus on the game rather than what has taken place with Katrina. A grat game overall.

CRUPPLER CATCHES THE BALL: 7-7, A DIFFERENT GAME. BUT LETS GET BACK TO THE 4TH PLAY OF THE GAME…A BLOCKED PUNT??!!! YOU GOTTA BE FREAKIN KIDDING ME!!!! THEN A BLOCKED FIELD GOAL? THOSE 3 POINTS WOULD HAVE KEPT THE GAME CLOSE. THESE GUYS WERE FLAT-FOOTED ALL GAME LONG, AND AFTER THAT BLOCKED KICK THEY DIDNT STAND A CHANCE!!
I HAVE ALSO COME TO NOTICE THAT ESPN IS A JOKE! PEOPLE ARE STILL HOMELESS AND ALL THEY CAN DO IS TALK ABOUT HOW THE “DOME” IS LOVELY AND A SYMBOL OF THE CITY. HELL, 100M DOLLARS? ASK ANY ONE OF THOSE HOMELESS FOLKS WOULD THEY RATHER HAVE THE DOME OR A HOME? GO…FREAKIN FIGURE!
BUT BACK TO THE GAME, THE BIRDS GAVE AWAY 17 POINTS LAST NIGHT IN THE FIRST HALF IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT…YOU WONT WIN LIKE THAT. AND ALSO…YOU WONT WIN IF YOUR ONLY OPTION IS CRUMPLER. EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE KNOWS ATLANTAS PASSING GAME BETTER THAN THEY DO. ITS A SHAME, WITH ALL THE FILM AND PREP AND IN TODAYS NFL THAT THE OFFENSE IS SO PRIMITIVE.
JIM MORA KILLS ME WITH THAT DUH-DUH-DUH LOOK ON THE SIDELINES. FIRE IS AZZZZZZZZ!!!!! AND VICK RAN ONLY TWICE, I UNDER STAND THAT YOU DONT WANT TO RISK INJURY, BUT YOU ARE TRYING TO WIN A GAME HERE BUT….FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, NOTHING ELSE WAS GOING, WITH THE WAY THAT DEFENSE WAS IN THE BOX…SO YOU GOTTA TRY SOMETHING, BOOTLEG, FLEE-FLICKER…ANYTHING.
AND YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THE GUYS UP IN THE PRESS BOX/COACHES OR WHOEVER WAS MAKING THE CALLS COULDNT CHANGE IT UP A LITTLE?????? 20 COACHES ON THAT DAM SIDELINE AND NOBODY COULD THINK OF ANYTHING? HAND OFF TO DUNN, 1 YARD, PASS TO CRUMPLER, DROPPED. VICK DANCING AROUND IN THE POCKET, INCOMPLETE PASS. ALL HE NEEDED WAS A SKIRT AND A POLE…BIAAATCH!!!!!
ALL IM SAYING IS THAT YOU KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE CRAZY IN THAT PLACE, SO YOU GOTTA TRY SOMETHING ON OFFENSE TO QUICKLY TAKE THAT CROWD OUT OF THE GAME. YET ANOTHER LOSERVILLE SPECIAL ON MNF!! HATE TO SAY BUT WITH THE SCHEDULE WE HAVE, 8-8 AGAIN!

It’s called Pitty for the City. they promoted that game like crazy to get as many people there as possible, get their money and make them look like fools, I said it was the curse of the dome! I stopped watching at halftime because I knew it was fixed, it was 23-3 when I stopped watching that crap and that was the final score. It’s damn shame! For the people on this blogs is blamming Vick for dropped balls! You got to be kidding me! Crumpler dropped 5 passes that he never drop, 3 of them was in open field, and 2 TD! They had no receiver’s going across the middle of the field. The some reason the falcons didn’t run the ball. The defense didn’t put any pressure on D. Brees. The O line forgot how too block, Special team miscues at the line. Passing the ball while in scoring position from the 2yd. line, then running the option from about 11 yds. out! when the score was 17 to 3 only too the have field blocked. And last the officating was absolutely horrible. 3 of those passes I meantion that Alge dropped he had a defender drapped all on his back. The no call that was Ashley the second one, because the first one he caught! Vick didn’t scramble, it was as if the Birds simply forgot how too play tonight!!!!

The O line did not get off the ball, Vick made some poor throws but most were catchable and we should expect our PROFESSIONAL receivers to catch them. Can we please go out and spend some money, and get someone who really wants to catch the ball in Atlanta? How many field goals and punts are going to be blocked before the coaches identify that problem? Three points? For real? Are you serious? It was tough to watch. You can’t win them all but it would have been a nice divisional win. ESPN’s coverage was bad. We all saw what happened down there, and no we have not forgotten. If the field was not ready then the game should not have been played there. That was this season’s biggest fluke.

Well, when all of the crying is over, they will fire the head coach and hire another one. He does not have the guts to carry out a consistant game plan. Vick is a running quarterback. He is not Peyton Manning. Hey here is a silly idea. Let the backup quarterback get the snap and put Vick out as a split back, And switch em around. But folks we could talk all day—-the bottom line is ——Does the coach know how to win consistantly? And I have to say, last night it look like the same ol Falcons that we have known for years. And these guys are going to beat the Bears? And the Colts, and the Jaguars and the —well you get the idea. I have never coached in my life. But it might be time to throw my resume in the pot for a coaching job with the Falcons. Because folks its not “if” they are going to get a new head coach it is “when”. Later ya’ll.

Why did FEMA pay to fix the Dome? Don’t they need houses and or apartments? The mayor and the Governor are standing in line with their hands out for everything including the buses left to flood instead of evacuation of the ones with no transportation. What the heck was wrong with the Falcons secondary? They look completly out of touch. Nowhere near the receiver and then a tackle 10yards down field.Neither offense or defense or special team blocking showed up. Someone need to answer a lot of questions.

Glad I’m not the only one who feels this game may have been planned out from the start. The announcers said it best after the blocked punt, “You couldn’t have scripted a better start to this game for the Saints”. I guess they were congratulating the ones that planned this game. I think President Bush messed up on the coin toss because everyone looked surprised when ATL won the toss. They were thinking, but wait The Saints are supposed to return the opening kickoff for a TD. I’m not sure what was more painful; watching the Falcons offense sputter, or listening to the announcers continuously turn the game into some sort of retribution. I’m sure that many people in New Orleans will still need a place to live whether or not the Saints win the ballgame. I just think the whole “storybook” thing got old after about 8:35. Anyway, the field was slow and the Falcons didn’t look energized enough to win the game. That being said, I can’t wait until the Saints come to the Georgia Dome for some true retribution! We can consider this game another generous donation by the Atlanta Falcons organization to the New Orleans Saints and the victims of Katrina.

I thought we’d be 1-2 at this point and still be on our way to 10-6. We’re a playoff team… we’ll contend for an NFC Championship appearance… with a little luck maybe even the Big Game. The season is well on its way to being a success. Go Falcons!

Sure the “world” was against the Falcons. No excuse for a terrible game plan and not having your players ready to play. On Wednesday, Mora said he was not going to talk about the hype of the game any longer with the team. I guess he and his staff underestimated the maturity of the offense, defense, special teams, and coaches.
Several things learned: The Knapp attack has been solved after only 2 weeks…I have no idea why you would pass from the 2 yard line on 1st down with the leagues #1 rushing offense… After upgrading the reciever position, we still cannot run routes or catch balls… We will not win close games without some simulance of special teams…4 blocked kicks in 3 games…are we playing VTech? Vick has to run! Run, Mike, Run!… 1/2 time adjustments are still nonexistant… Any QB in the league will look like Jon Elway if there is no pass rush and the corners are all playing zone… I guess what I am trying to say is use some imagnination out there guys, hope this is not a return of the team/staff that finished off the 2005 season 2-6.

This was the worst Monday night football game I have ever watched. It seemed as though Atlanta’s defense stayed in Atlanta and our offense was on vaction in Mexico somewhere. And another thing I have never seen Alge dropped so many passes, what’s up with that? Did Atlanta agree to lose this game?

Game was definitely RIGGED!!! There was no way that the NFL and ESPN would allow Atlanta to ruin this special night for the Saints and New Orleans. The agreement was to let the Saints win this game and that in return the Falcons would win in Atlanta later this year. It was pretty obvious that the Falcons threw the game and Mora had a vested interest in New Orleans since his Dad coached there for a number of years!!

Why did we have to play them on their first night in the superdome? And for all ya’ll down south (I’m in DE at the AFB)where was the red and black. Any other game in New Orleans we would be representing our team. They needed to see ATL support among all of the NO fans. Falcons held back last night. But the definitely the need to set it up.

the truth is this game was rigged and if you don’t belive this your a fool, clue one in no other game does a punter get put in close vision by camara but on the first punt there it was when the punt got blocked and #2 alge crumpler has never dropped over 2 passes in a game he dropped 5 including a td pass,#3 charles grant and will smith are two of the least productive DE in the leauge but they were in the back feild all day #4 the falcons had no pass rush at all all this stuff is not a concident i bet you the saint go out and lose to carolina next week you watch and when the saint come to atlanta they will not be welcome hurricane or not I hate the saints

Hey guys, I saw Vick throw about five bombs down the left and right sidelines altogether, but only one of them was caught while the receiver (Ashley Lelie) was running in full stride to catch the ball. The rest of the timess I saw the receivers slow down their stride, just slightly, to catch the ball, which enabled the defender to keep up with them and make the ball harder to catch. If Mike Vick, and that is a “big if”, ever learns to throw the ball so our receivers can run under it in full stride to catch it, instead of overthrowing the ball, we will win a lot of game whether we a behind or ahead after half time. However, I am afraid that this won’t happen, for our coaching is bad, and our players are not disciplined.

This game was thrown by Falcons and NFL. When was last time a double reverse has been used to score against professional backs. College yes, but the pros. ATL receivers dropped many balls and just allowed NO special team to come in and block field goals and punts. Lastly, where was the blitz package on defense. I had Colston as my fantasy receiver, but gosh, no pressure was put on Brees.

Once again the Falcons had a chance to step up to the plate and prove they are thee real deal. That didn’t happen but what was surprising was how seemingly unprepared they were to play the game. How many times does their offense through an incomplete pass on first down and run on second down only leaving mega yardage to complete a first down.
Where’s the passion guys, where’s the imagination on offense. I didn’t see any last night, but I’ll admit, I couldn’t watch the massacre after the first half performance.
Jim Mora, please prepare your team better in the preseason and stop worrying about getting someone hurt. Fragility doesn’t win games in the NFL.

I have to say that I learned last night that our passer doesnt get roughed. That flags can get picked and and forgot about. And that we witnessed the only MNF Game to ever be confused with a Teleathon for vitims of a year old Hurricane. That was the worst MNF experience I have ever had in my life. The ref would never come to our sideline to speak with our coach but he was making every call the aints wanted. This Games smells like the NFL wanted a light to shine on this horrible city. The owner didnt even want to stay there but now they are so happy that the aints are there. Watching the game I puked on a couple of occations last night. Im sick and tired of hearing about Kartrina and the mess it made of a town that was already a mess. There you got your stadium back and your one giveme from the NFL. We will see you Nov bet it is not the same Teams as last night.

Field any team of Pro-Bowlers and they would not have beaten the Saints last night. No need to panic, just a learning experience for our guys and coaches as other teams will try to match the gameplan of the Saints.
I feel very sad for the city of New Orleans for what has resulted from people who do not heed warnings and mandatory evacuations. I am glad they are back on their feet, but for people who move BACK in to N.O., you may not get a second chance…..

Looks like the NFL found this years Steelers…
I didn’t even watch this charade…The NFL ESPN and all that bought into this should be forced to live in a FEMA trailer for a month.

I always knew Falcons fans were delusional, but to really think that the game was fixed by the league??? Oh yeah, the NFL came to the Falcons players and told them to drop balls, told Vick to throw short passes as hard as a deep pass, and told Dunn to not hit the holes. I guess they also told the O-Line, which has never been good at pass blocking, to not be good at pass blocking for the game.
Maybe you should all quit watching NFL football, because you all seem to let it become more important then life itself. Get a grip on yourselves and just come to grips with the fact that the Falcons DID NOT COME TO PLAY last night.
BTW, the Falcons got penalized for a whopping 3 more yards than the Saints, sure sounds like the fix was in.

I knew it was going to be tough for us (the Falcons) to win this game. There were strong emotions tied to this game for the Saints. This was not just any game for them. They wanted to “really” win this game for the New Orleans natives. They were hungry, they were focused. Mora and his coaching staff were out-coached. The Falcons players were not there mentally. The Falcons did not show up for this game. I don’t know who those guys were in the Red & Black. That was not my team. I hate to say it but the Falcons will never be able to win a Superbowl until they can handle the pressure of the big games like yesterday.

For all the Vick protectors. I AM a Falcons Fan. And yes there is more to the loss than Vick, but one thing remains constant year to year with Vick. He cannot read a defense (AT ALL). He never goes to his third and fourth receivers (AT ALL). When the running game is stuffed, he cannot get the passing game going to offset the running game. We will never win BIG being one deminsional, and Vick has yet to prove he can throw when the run is taken away. This game just shows how idiotic the first two defensive coordinators were in the Carlolina, and Tampa Bay games.

The Falcons rolled over and let the Saints stump over them with the help of the referees cheating and not calling the pass interferences because there was several other than the one they called and took away. Anyone who would have played the Saints last night could have just called it a lost because everyone except Atlanta was going for the Saints. Falcons hold your head up and lets go. No pity parties just go go go!!!

I agree with Eric the game was rigged, the Blab Crew sucked and there was way too much coverage on “the ninth ward”. Everybody in the world knows what happened in NO and we have ALL seen the pictures over and over and over and over and over… I hate the Blab Crew when they are so biased to one team. I stand firm that The FALCONS are a GOOD team. They are going to the SUPERBOWL and that is all I have to say about that!!

I love the Falcons and have enjoyed watching them, in person and on TV, humiliate the Saints more than once so don’t get me wrong when I say; We got what we deserve. Sloppy blocking and tackling. Recevers don’t get open then when they do can’t catch a cold! QB that had his bad throws too trying to run for his life! We got spanked by a well prepared better team. They came to win and I think we came in there to make sure they did.The Falcons went down there and helped the Saints fans AND the Saints. Better go get ready for next (this) week or just sit on the sidelines and learn by watching.

Obviously, the Falcons were not prepared for this game. Why is that, time and time again, they fail to capitalize on their success? I couldn’t help but think after hearing that Dunn hired a bunch of cars to take the team to the 9th ward Sunday evening to personally view the devastation that he has a job as a professional motivator. Especially after he forbade anyone from bringing cameras in order to convey the full effect of the devastation and make them focus on what they see. It was quite impressive.
Oscar de La Hoya is scheduled to fight Felix Trinidad in vegas next month. De la Hoya has hired master motivator Dunn to prep him for the fight.
Dunn plans to spend the week preceding the fight with de la Hoya on a strict schedule.
Dunn first plans to fly middle class de La Hoya into Las Diagas Concerto, which is a small cluster of mudhuts in Nicaragua where Trinidad grew up. They plan to spend the entire day with 7 lepers in a mudhut next to the one Trinidad was born in.
Dunn plans to spend day two at the school with De la Hoya, which is a tarp spread between two broken jeeps where Trinidad learned to read.
After that on day 3 Dunn is taking De La Hoya to the makeshift hospital where Trinidad’s mother and father are on life support.
On day four, De la Hoya will be shown the empty parking lot where a “Hollywood” like bank was set up before Trinidads last visit by drug kingpins. Dunn will explain how Trinidad deposited his entire life savings from his fights into the very first Nicaraguan public bank in order to help the economy and from which funds would be drawn to build a hospital and a school. Dunn will explain how the drug lords disassembled the bank before Trinidads plane was even off the tarmac back to the States and how they used his money to buy sea to land cruise missiles even though they had no boats other than inflatable rafts.
On the 5th day Dunn will give De La Hoya a tour of a dormant volcano where he will explain that in 1877, 400 people perished.
Day 6 they will fly back to the States and Dunn will take a personal day and take De la Hoya to a Jerry’s Kids telethon hosted by Sally Strothers. Dunn will have De la Hoya man the phones for 3-4 hours.
Day 7, the day before the fight, Dunn will take De La Hoya to Trinidads current home, the locker room in Krogs gym. Where Trinidad has spent the last 60 days ever since he lost every penny in the fake bank scam. De La Hoya will see where Trinidad has slept (inside a rolled up wrestling mat to hide from gangs at night).
Fight night-Dunn will advise De La Hoya to walk from 10 miles out of town in the desert to the fight so he can better understand what the Galaetians experienced in 98 B.C.
Ringside as De la Hoya steps into the ring, Dunn will tell him to “do his best” even though every one in the world is hoping he loses because everyone loves Trinidad because he is a great man and you (De la Hoya) will never understand the magnitude of the roadblocks God has placed in front of him.
I am putting 20k on Trinidad by KO in the first.

No one could have won in that Dome last night. The whole world was pulling for the Saints. And how many times were the announcers going to remind us about the “devastations of Hurricane Katrina” and the rebuilding effort, blah, blah, blah. Don’t get me wrong…I am sympathetic to what happened in NO and the people there. But explain to me why the Governor would use a freakin football game to rejuvenate the city. And President H. W. Bush…now that was taking sh*! too far. It’s a football game people, a football game. Not a national day of mourning/remembrance. Why did Arthur Blank allow the league to schedule the Falcons to be the first team back in the Superdome after this fiasco??? I am way bitter about this.
But on the flip side, the Falcons played like s$*!. Vick didn’t have a receiver open all night. What was wrong with Alge’s hands? Poor little Warrick Dunn. He wasn’t going anywhere. The Saints had studied his plays all week. And special teams. What the he!! was that first play. Who was blocking? And somebody (Koenen) needs to be fired. Some changes need to be made before Sunday…
Anyways, there are still 14 more weeks to go before playoffs. It would have been nice to be 3-0, but 2-1 ain’t bad. He!!, we could have Carolina (or worse, Tampa’s) record. And we still have to meet the Saints again…next time in our house and without all the hoopla. This s*$! ain’t over…

That game was a bunch of crap. The Saints are the same old Saints and if the refs would have called the game the way it should have been, the Falcons would have been much better off. I love how whenever there was pass interference, it was always OFFENSIVE pass interference… but then again, look at the criticism that the NFL would have received if the Falcons would have won — America would have seen it as beating down a city that has already gone through enough pain. Well, the America that has no clue about football. And I’m so sure, like they are a real team — they will have the same record as last year! They’ve beat the PACKERS and the BROWNS people. Like they are contenders! So lets keep our faith in the Falcons, you know you all love them when they are winning and we know they will blow Arizona out of the water next week!

A “fix” seems a little strong, but the performance was suspect.
And the Vick haters, Mora haters, etc.-LIGHTEN UP!
Hell, this was a MNF game-what do you expect from the Falcons? They have been more embarrassing on Monday nights than any team I have ever seen!
That said, the 2 areas most disturbing are: 1) as usual, pass blocking-hello??!! 2) unusually, special teams blocking-2 weeks, 3 blocked FG, one blocked punt? This looks like a UGA non-conference team!
With no time to throw, no one to catch, what kind of passing do you expect from Vick?

Well I just think the true Falcons were displayed last night, All of the hype for the past few years has been centered around one player, michael vick, although he is a pretty good quarterback, he does not make up the whole team, and i think atlanta fans went a little crazy when he first started with the team and they just put a little too much emphasis on Vick.

What I want to know is WHY IN THE hE## DID “FEMA” SPEND $118 MILLION DOLLARS ON REBUILDING THE SAINTS DOME INSTEAD OF USING THAT MONEY TO REBUILD HOMES FOR THE PEOPLE THERE?????? Now that’s ludicrous!! The Saints could have found a temporary home at another facility (college stadium) SOMEWHERE, SOMETHING!!!

This game was fixed from the start. It would not be PC for the Falcons to win over the Aints because of all the sympathy. A good barometer of this was the fact that this is a rivalry and that there was no pushing and shoving near the end of the game because of the Falcons being upset over losing to their rival.

Okay look. First the Saints played way over their heads. The field was bad for a quick cutting offense. The offense could not get going and the D got tired out in the first half. They were not used to being out there so much.
It was one game, and a big one only in the court of Public Opinion. If you are a Falcons fan, you know, we will never be the favorite to make the playoffs or the Superbowl. They will be underrated and under apprecited by the national media no matter what.
If you are a Falcons fan, stand up and be proud. They did lose, and badly, but the season is not over and the best, I feel is yet to come. Stop throwing blame around and start beleiving. The Saints won last night because: 1. The nation wanted them to 2. The field hurt the Falcons Offense and Defense cuts and blocks. 3. Once the Saints were up, how much would it have hurt the entire mood last night if the Falcons had come back from 20 points back. While I think the entire game being a scam to promote the Saints is a bit of a stretch, I can see how there may have been some protective calls later. 4. The played WAY over their heads.
The Falcons lost. Get over it and get on board, or get out of the way.

OK, SO NEXT WEEK WHEN WE PUT THE HAMMER DOWN ON ARIZONA, YOU ALL WILL BE BACK ON VICK’S JOCK! (fair-weather fans…)
This was just one bad game on a terrible field that took away our quickness and cutting ability. That’s why the run was stopped. That’s why the wide-outs didn’t get any separation. We were totally out of our game last night, like we were playing on skates or something. Now, factor in the fact that there was a breakdown on Special Teams that resulted in 6 points within the first minute or so of the game, and a drop ball by Alge that would have been 6 points for us; it was an all-around butt-whoopin’.
But don’t expect that same result will happen Sunday. Or when the Saints play us again on 11/26. Or any other time this season.
Oh, and for those who think that the playbook is out on how to beat the Falcons’ running game, the Saints spread the linebackers out and tried to give some outside help from the safeties. So what… Everybody does that! Heck, Pop Warner football players do that all the time!
The bottom line is the Warrick Dunn couldn’t get too many yards from the inside due to poor blocking from the O-line. That means that the Saints can get pressure with their front four. Plus, the WRs couldn’t get separation from the Saints’ DBs. The only other option, then, is to run Vick. But, with the DEs and LBs playing the outside gaps to keep Vick in the pocket, he had nowhere to go. Simple.
Now, that was exactly what Carolina and Tampa Bay tried to do. The reason why Atlanta was successful against them, however, is because we had good blocking, better routes from the WRs, and better field quality so Dunn, Norwood, and Vick can make cuts. The WRs made better cuts as well (which makes for better routes.)
So stop with the Vick-hatred speech. Schaub would have done worse in that situation. Why? Because precision passers + horrible WR routes = Interceptions.

O.K. it’s over and done with. New Orleans has reopened their dome. The Saints won the first game at home in over a year. The Falcons got their butts handed to them on a platter. The people of New Orleans have something that they can be happy about for a week. However, the last time I looked there are still 13 more games to play and if memory serves me correctly Miami has been the only modern era team to finish a year undefeated. So we lost one, so what. Lets buckle up and win the next one. Grow up people, this is entertainment, its a game!

Hey Jim, Call Mark Richt and ask him what you do when you QB cant seem to get it done by the 3rd quarter. He will tell you to pull him and use someone else who may provide a spark. You say you would not want to do that and have Vick looking dejected on National TV. Well guess what? He looked that way anyway. He still can be your #1, but give #2 or #3 a chance to do something. You know you will have to use those guys sometime this year. To Mikes credit, I thought his receivers should have had at least 3 of his passes, maybe more. It surprises me to see that most of Atl takes it personally when Vick is criticized. Had Vick played in NY, he would probably be out of the NFL already.

Some of you need therapy. What professional sports team would throw a game for the morale of a teamor a city? You have blamed the refs, the league, announcers, the grounds crew and the president and the Pope.
The Saints have had great teams on paper for the past few years, but injuries hurt them. The didn’t ask for pity party. Those players went to camp and worked hard to make the team. They don’t expect team to give them anything. There is such a rivalry between the Falcons and the Saints for the Falcons to throw a game.
Finally, if you had a sense of NFC South history, you would know that the Saints beat the Falcons, the Falcons beat Tampa Bay, Tampa beats the Carolina and Carolina beats the Saints, or vice versa depending on the year.

And we don’t have 5 million citizens to do it with! The Falcons, Vick, and Coach Mora reacted to this loss with class. Even the fans who made the trip reacted this way, too. Many, who stayed at home and complained about the broadcast (who cares?) — maybe you should find a different sport!

The Falcons have been EXPOSED. So far the Falcons have difficulty scoring in the red zone and lack the presence of a physical go to receiver. Obviously, there is little imagination in the passing routes, the Saint DBs were jumping on the routes all night like they knew exactly where the receiver was going. The routes are so predictable. The special teams were horrible and the Falcons have yet to prove that they can win in a hostile environment. The Falcons are simply not tough!
This loss may be a sign of worse things to come. Eric Moulds was available T.O. was available. Why did the Falcons pass over them? The need for a physical go to receiver is glaring. Ashely Lelie is not the answer; he is too soft and so is Michael Jenkins and Roddy White.

I felt the NFL wanted the Saints to win this game in light of the situation, there. There were too many missed calls by officials(pass interference called, flag picked up that would have given the Falcons an opportunity late in the game, they showed in the first replay the right two players, but in following replays, other set of receiver and defender. I have never seen a punt blocked, in the manner, I saw Monday, the man came up the middle, virtually unblocked. I feel for the region, and I think the NFL wanted this win to be the welcome back to NO.

I was skeptical from the first 2 games honestly. Yes we did win, however, we barely scored any points, especially offensive TOUCHDOWNS dagnabit! The teams we beat weren’t much to go on. We got our cards dealt to us this time. Maybe it’ll be a wake-up call in calling better plays. We need to be able to throw (and catch) the ball more. We can’t fault Crumpler for the big “L”. Everyone has a bad game. I’m still a Falcons Fan til I die, but we’ve got to be more aggressive. Can’t wait til ABRAGHAM returns on defense. We need you man! Just gotta bounce back next week. This was a lose/lose situation for the falcons. You win and your beating up on poor new orleans, you lose and your a bad team. What the falcons did though was go there and crap their pants. What do the falcons and the dawgs have in common? They both have receivers that can’t catch. There are major differences though. 1)The falcons get paid millions and the dawgs have 18-21yr old kids.2)MR had enough balls and common sense to pull his number one QB when he saw that he was struggling albeit not all his fault(bad play calling, weak OL play, and drops)where as JM stayed with Vick who looked TERRIBLE. At least Stafford played decent and oh yeah, he is a freshman. Vick could not run, he could not throw and you have an excellent backup in Schaub. Play him. Maybe he gives the O some spark. The falcons got overwhelmed with the atmosphere and fueled the fire with poor play. And don’t tell me you can’t second guess leaving JA in the last couple minutes in the opener as I am sure he would not have been any help getting to Brees or slowing down the run game. In the falcons defense, if a field is not ready to play on as the announcers kept saying then why were they there so early in the first place. The falcons looked slow, apathetic and they gave up way too soon in that game. I know that no one outside of atlanta was pulling for them but the game was a major dissapointment and again they played like the dawgs on Sat. They got outworked by a motivated team and the only difference is MR turned things around by giving someone else a shot when he saw his #1 was not getting it done. Correct me if I am wrong.

Going into last nights game the Falcons were 3 of 9 for TD’s in the Red Zone. That’s pathetic and it came to bite them in the butt last night. This spread option offense is fine in the open field, but it doesn’t work in the NFL when the field is limited and the Defense can pack in what small amount of yardage is left.
I think Greg Knapp is finally doing a good job with the limited weapons he has, but until Vick learns how to take something off of the short passes and the WR’s learn how to use their legs and hips to get open this team is going to struggle.
And for all of you that are b!t@hing about Katrina, I hope to God nothing bad ever happens to your family or the city you live in. Get a clue and a heart.

The Birds looked dead last night. Starting with our special teams line and continuing to the offense. The defense didn’t play too bad considering the lack of Abe and the length of time they had to spend on the field.
But Vick showed last night that he is still unable to read progressions to the open receiver. He had ants in his pants most of the night. Reads, footwork, running, none of it was working for him. He really needs to start peppering the ball to other people besides crump…that is so predictable. But in fairness, Crump has to catch those balls in the end zone. But I though Vick spent all that time in the offseason working with White and Jenkins? It doesn’t show. What about the o-line…where was the protection?
Roddy White gave a dismal performance. He can’t get open and he can’t catch the ball…Next! Lelie looked good and they should have thrown to him more…and Jenkins looked good too. Do we have an inside slant pattern that anyone can run? Don’t think so.
As for the running game, you can blame it on the new turf, or you can accept that the Ain’ts were fired up and ready for us and just plain stuffed us. Should have let the rookie Norwood run more though…nothing against Warrick, but if it isn’t working with him, try something else.
Our red zone offense is a real problem. We can’t afford to settle for a field goal and then miss it. Morten Anderson is not at fault for the block…that was all line.
The goat of the game is special teams and Gregg Knapp as well, neither showed up. Greg Knapp’s play calling is horrendous. Handoff then throw to Crump…that’s about it. One good play to Lelie down the field worked but they never went back to it.
Dismal and discouraging. But nevertheless, I will always support them. They must adjust and fix their wagon wheels, which fell off last night.

If there were a BCS poll for the NFL, the Falcons would fall from 5th to 20th. They may be 2-1 but they looked like a team struggling to find its 1st win of the year. Even if this team is lucky enough to make the playoffs, it will be one and done- just like the Braves. Atlanta continues to be a town of sports mediocrity where fans view division titles as world championships. The Falcons still have some work to do before they even hit mediocrity.

I think the Falcons are finding out why the Jets were so willing to trade John Abraham. The guy has no heart and completely lacks the “warrior” mentality needed out of a guy that plays in the trenches. He pulled this same garbage up in NY and when the Falcons traded for him I told an over-excited buddy to not be too happy because he’ll probably only play in about 8 games all year, looks like I’m going to be right on that one.
And Hartwell?? It looks more and more like Ray Lewis made Ed Hartwell look like stud for years, because he’s looked like a dud here in Atlanta.

The notion that the Falcons “wanted the Saints to win” is ludicrous! The notion that the President’s Administration had anything to do with it is bizzare. The notion that anyone including disgruntled Falcons fans, wish’s ill upon the poor and downtrodden is preposterous.
What happened to New Orleans was a tragic affair beyone anyones control. Media wants to say nobody did anything and it’s the Prez’s fault and that’s ridiculous as well.
Reminds me of a bunch of folks that don’t want to accept responsibility for their own welfare and want to blame someone else for the biggest natural disaster to ever hit N.O. Geez, sounds like a bunch of Democrats.
Every liberal celebrity and politician in the world used this tragedy to politicize it to their own advantage, whether for votes, publicity, or just to jab the opposition with a sharp stick in the eye. Thank god most of us have the intelligence to discern between fact and fiction.
Fact: there was no “delayed” response from the Bush Administration. In fact, the plans for responding to the disaster were in place long before Katrina. And you can go back many administrations and place blame on all of them too, for the shortcomings of the emergency response and subsequent failings of the support systems. Who could have planned for a levee break? Did anyone, Dems or Reps alike at any time before the disaster? No. So don’t go trying to say it was the Bush Admin. The more caterwallering and poor mouthing trash talk you do, you may as well be swimming in crap up to your eyeballs, because that’s about how much it helps.
If I lost everything in this disaster, what little I had, I would be p** and probably be looking for someone to blame. But the fact is, the infrastructure was not in place to handle this and you can blame the Mayor, the Governor first, then the states preparedness plan, then the folks who didn’t evacuate when told to, then FEMA, then the administration. Enough to go around. But it still won’t solve the problem of what if: another hurricane hits N.O. Are you citizens ready now?
One things for sure…Hurricane New Orleans hit the Falcons last night and beat them like a yard dawg.

Its done, it was a lose lose situation, so lets get ready for the next game a look forward to the rematch with Saints in our house. The Falcons (or any other team,) really were the “designated” turd in the punch bowl for that night.

Two Dead Flys,
Take a look at Abraham’s history, especially his last few weeks with the Jets and you’ll see this is a common thing for him. JA is out for JA only and he’s admitted that in the past.

What do you expect from a guy that makes comments about how even though his team is playing the playoffs and he’s cleared to play by the medical staff that he’s not going to play because he doesn’t want to risk it in a contract year?

All emotion and absent players aside, if the offensive line plays better in this game, the score is very different. Vick had no protection, Dunn and Norwood had no holes and if the O-line blocks, those kicks don’t get blocked. Vick made some good throws that were dropped or not even tried for. It wasn’t his best game, but the onus of his poor numbers should not be squarely placed on his shoulders.
The defense only gave up one touchdown, without Abraham and what’s his name again…oh Hartwell. I don’t think it is panic time, by any stretch. Work on core blocking and catching drills this week, blitz the hell out of the rookie QB and enjoy the win over the Cards on Sunday.

For all of you people bashing the city of New Orleans and the people; Shame on you! This was just a GAME; none of your lives was change by the out come of the score. What happen in New Orleans last year was real and it will forever change lives. Let the people of Louisiana have that win. A monument of JOY after a year of travesty. If you want to blame the NFL or the Ref’s fine do so (or maybe come to the realization that the Falcons just got out played), but leave the bad mouthing of the New Orleans people out. Just remember none of you would dare trade place with them right now. (Leaving in a FEMA travel trailer)

The blame should be on Knapp and Mora. We all know that MV isn’t the best passer and yet they come out passing. I’m a Vick fan, but a realist. This was bad coaching from the start. They fell right into the Saints hands with this game plan.

Samiam you are wrong…
Coming out passing was not bad strategy.
Everyone who knows anything about football should know that NO was going to stop the run because everyone has been talking about that.
Besides having a passing game throws off their defense and when that happens you hit em with the run. But it didn’t work out.. With that said, I did have issues with the lack of adjustments coaching made during the game.

Even if Atlanta brought back, Jerry Rice, Lynn Swann and Micheal Irving, Mike Vick couldn’t hit them. Strong arm, but like a pitcher that can throw 100 mph to the BACKSTOP! 6 years, 6 years and we are still talking about him maturing into an all around Quarterback. What a joke. Mora can’t bench him, because Arthur Blank has to not hurt Mike’s feelings. Turn him into a running back for goodness sake! DJ Shockley could do better!

There are problems that started long before last night. The incompetent offensive coordinator needs to go along w/this redundant offense. Since Vick is the QB there needs to be a competent coach that can come in here & fully maximize his potential. Blank should have hired Charlie Weiss when he had the chance! I guess we’ll just have to see what sort of adjustments these guys will make, or will they keep rewinding the Texas-USC game?

This Vick bashing, and Schabub worshipping is getting a little tedious and juvenile. Cut the kid some break. This was a team lose. Receivers were atrocious, the O-line was pathetic, and the special team was non existent. Look Vick is the one who is going to get the Falcons to the promise land. That Kid from virginia is overrated. he is not/and will never be the qb in ATL as long as Vick is alive, so u all vick bashers can go shoot yourself in the head, and go to hell. If Schabub is so great he will be somewhere. Trust me.If any team reall deemed him that great he will have been traded long time ago. Some of u ATL fans are so ignorant and racist beyond comprehension. Bring peyton, tom brady, hasselbeck, mcnabb, favre, culpepper, and any other great qb. on this team, and they will have porous #s, and lose some games like vick has, b’cos ATL really lacks talent all around. Surround vick with talent, and he will put up amazing #s, and wins/losses records. He has been great thus far with marginal talent like he was when he was in college. Do any of u remember how VT struggled against Miami w/o Vick, and how ATL was non existent w/o Vick? i just hope that Mora will play schbaub 4 4 series in a game, and see how miserably he performs. that will obviously shut this morons up, but i doubt it. So 2 U all Vick haters GO 2 HELL, and STAY THERE.

There was something fishy about that game last night. It was more like an announcement to the world that N.O. is back and the Falcons did them a favor by being the sacrifical lamb. We all know that the Falcons are a much better team that showed up last night. It’s as if the Falcons decided to lose the game for the sake of the city. C’mon, we all know the Falcons are much more talented than the Saints. It’s just too fishy and sad how the Falcons decided to roll over on their backs like dead birds. Poor officiating, punt block, field goal block, sacks, poor play calling, etc only magnified the Saints as if they are the best team in the NFL. Also, enough about the Katrina disaster already and let’s focus on getting our troops home.

Frederick,
You, sir, are a jackcass. When you can complete sentences that have a valid point, please return. What makes the comments on this post racist because people say that Vick played awful. Wake up! You are the one with blind ignorance. The falcons have some of the best talent in the league so who would you like them to add to the roster. They have three good QBs, two great RBs, two great FBs, one of the best TEs in the league(although he didn’t help his cause last night)some good young receivers that need alot of work with the pass catching drills, a good OL, one of the best D Lines, linebacking corps, and secondaries in the league. Blame the Coach and the execution or the heart of the players last night but by no means can you ever blame the organization for a lack of talent. Get your facts straight or know your role and shut your mouth!

Folks, ya gotta calm down - the sun will rose this morning and it will rise again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after, …
I find it beyond ridiculous, but ever so funny, that conspiracy theories are so abundant about this loss by the Falcons… geez, ya’ll need to take a chill pill and quit watching so much politics ! ! !
Anybody that has followed the Saints or the Falcons over the years knows quite well that you can throw out all of the “norms” for their meetings … the rivalry between these teams is far too intense.
Add in the adrenaline and a few dashes of emotion and there ya have it … the Falcons got their butts kicked fair and square.
I would be remiss though if I didn’t expound on the conspiracy angle … do ya think Houston was in on the conspiracy too? Ya know, passing on Bush and all, just to set up this game? Do ya think for one minute that we wouldn’t have heard about a “fix” with today’s media?
And those blocked kicks - do ya think the Falcons rigged their previous blocked kicks just to make those in this game look “right”?
I’ve witnessed far too many Saints/Falcons games to not expect the unexpected. What we saw last night was totally unexpected - yet easily predicted if one studies the series over a period of years …
Suck it up, it’s only the third game …

I flew to N.O. and attended the game with my son to support the city efforts of N.O. and the Falcons. We wore our Falcons shirts and hats and took a lot of good natured “ribbing” from the very nice Saints fans. But in the end, there was only one way to express our feelings: EMBARASSED! Dropped passes, terrible special teams, and a QB in the “twilight zone”. Mora better get things right fast or as Norm Van Brocklin used to say. NFL means “Not For Long” for losers.

U idiotic bastard. u just made my point. the receivers are still learning how to run routes, the TE was atrocious on monday night. Dunn is great RB, and i will admit the defense is better this yr than last yr. However, what prompted me to post my message was the incessant bashing of Vick 4 every Falcons loss since he became the starter. My point is plain and simple; peyton, brady, mcnabb, culpepper, and any other great qb in the nfl will have medicore #s in this offense. You buffons in ATL should be grateful u have Vick. I will repeat my earlier message:the talent around the kid is marginal to say the least. Don’t u guys think it is unfair to blame one player 4 all the problems of a team? Any true Falcons fan who has followed them through their past two seasons should know that there was something a little too hard to believe that they were really shut down. All the passes that were just juggled out of the hands of Crumpler and Jenkins - come on! Since when does Jenkins let a ball bounce out of his hands - especially in the end zone when he is wide open? And don’t you just find it odd that neither Vick nor Dunn ran? Our defense has always been hard to get through and our offense is one of the best in the nation! How can any of you say they just sucked? If this game wasn’t given to the Saints then the sky is not blue! This game was hyped up beyond belief and commercialized to the point of sickness! Too bad NO couldn’t win on their own - bathe in your glory for now NO - but remember you have to earn the rest of the season. And to the rest of the Falcon bashers - the Falcons are one of the best teams in the nation and Vick will always be the best!

I just came here, originally, to get a different take on the game. WOW. I do not know where to begin. Sports things first, not that it is the most important, but let’s stay on subject……No fix was in, that is absurd, yeah, the Falcons organization, your players would all just rollover, right? No way, not to mention the other ridiculous remarks made. As for officiating…..I have been a saints fan for over 30 years, season ticket holder for almost that long…one of the MAIN REASONS YOU HAVE INSTANT REPLAY in the NFL is because of a play in the Superdome years back(memory fails me as to the exact year, sory, but it happened)winner goes to the playoffs, losers are home…Jerry Rice catches a beautful pass, long one, probably 35-45 yds…..DROPS THE BALL ON THE SAINTS 3 yard line…TOUCHDOWN….the ball is still spinning on the 3 yard line BUT…touchdown,HORRIBLE call. I was in the dome Mon. night. You were not cheated, it was not fixed…BS!!! You were out played, you were out coached, you were out hustled, you looked like crap. And we were the handle that flushed you.COMPLETELY.You got BEATEN BY A BETTER TEAM, on Monday, not forever, hell maybe not even next week, but at least be big enough to admit you lost because a team beat you in EVERY phase of the game…they did.Second, but most important..i did not read every post on here, just a random few, but the ones i did read were, at the very least disturbing, insensitive and many of them just plain childish. You know what, you ignorant idiots, those of you who to whom this does not pertain, forgive me, the idiots know who they are..and this has NOTHING TO DO WITH a football game…….I evacuated, all my neighbors did…guess what, we still had 5 feet of water, debris, sewage in our homes!!!!We still had 8 huge oak trees down on our home, had to chainsaw our way in, and we live in a subdivision. Our best friend, who also evacuated couldn’t find the water mark in his home, know why???? IT WAS ON HIS ROOF!!We had insurance, my husband is one of the 35% EMPLOYED who pays for the 65% unemployed to live in N.O.,we are not getting s$%t from the federal govmt,My husband runs a business in N.O.,we do not fit in to the “chocolate city”plan our mayor has, except of course for providing the $$$$ for it’s restoration, which we are happy to do, we love this incredible city.We could not find my 85 year old mother in law for almost 2 weeks, she was in a hospital, evacuated to another hospital, (she has advaced Alzheimers so we were not allowed to take her with us,she was at the violent stage of it)We have spent the last 13 months fighting EVERYONE,,,the governor of this state is an idiot,,,we did not vote for her.Our insurance company is trying to screw us and everyone else in this state. You have NO IDEA WAHT LIVING HERE HAS BEEN LIKE.Pity party….i challenge EVERYONE who used that term to at least come and look at what Katrina did to this region…it defies words.WE borrowed against my husbands retirement to try to rebuild our house back…did not EVER get a FEMA trailer, we are white…apparently that put us at the bottom of the list…they were going to bring one in JUNE 06. Thanks.WE are not getting any of that “free”$$ you, so many of you refer to.No, we just came ack, rebuilt and went on….pity party. There are people here who have NOTHING LEFT>>>>>>>NOT A PICTURE,NOT A BRICKI dare you know it alls to come over here and spend 1 week with a displaced family,in their drivewy, or at least where it used to be.WE have lost so much….it is indescribable…..hate the Saints, DO NOT hate the people of this region…you have no idea, and to slander and hate people who have lost so much is just, well, unfathomable. those who do, well, pitiful.I came here to look at different views of the game , I was shocked by the venom, hate, and sheer stupidity of many of the posts I read. Very disappointing.Man, if a football game shakes you up this bad,God help you if you ever have a REAL disaster. At a loss for words for so many of you……you got beaten by a team that out played you, out everything you….WHO DAT………I cannot wait to play you guys again, your fans are truly some one to root against.

This was an abismal and embarrashing performance by the Falcons and it starts with the coaching staff. First, Michael Vick is not a pocket quarterback, I repeat Michael Vick is not a pocket quarterback, he is the best in football when he is moving around so he can create mismatches etc. just like Roger Staubach and Sir Francis Tarkinton. Second they had better start playing better on their offensive line, they couldn’t run the ball consistently which should never happen if they are truly the best in the NFL. Third they need a lot of work on their special teams (blocking again) 3 blocked field goals attempts and a punt. I think the Falcons overall are a good team as their defense has improved, but their offensive line and especially the coaching staff need to take a hard look at themselves and make a decision that they are going to play harder and/or make better coaching decisions.

Right on NOLA! I have never seen such hatred and ignorance as displayed on this board by some. Our city is not perfect…is yours?
The dead whom you refer to as stupid, welfare people etc, etc, when you really mean black, were in fact disproportionally white. They died gasping for air in their attacks because government hacks lied to us for years saying we had category 3 protection, which we did not. Unfortunately, many old ladies in Lakeview, a predominately white area, died, in addition to black folks in the 9th ward ( an area of HOMEOWNING blacks) .
Since some of you have no heart, and are clueless about what really happened here, let me tell you why you should care about our survival if for no other reason than your own needs: it is in the national interest that we be saved:
First, the country needs us to produce the oil and natural gas we provide, which is one third of the national supply.
Second, as a result of our efforts to supply the country’s enegy needs, our coastline which protected us from storms has been raped, and we are more vulnerable than ever to hurricanes.
This puts the rest of the nation’s energy supply at risk.
Third, billions of dollars of royalties are paid to the federal government as a direct result of the oil industry’s destructive work off of our coast.
Fourth, we get no share of those royalties, unlike every other similarly situated state.
