Post-game forum: Braves pound Padres
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
John Smoltz dominated for seven scoreless innings, Chipper Jones became the all-time Atlanta Braves hits leader and the Braves hit four homers in an 11-3 win Saturday night. The Braves have a National League-best 8-3 record in July and have won 12 of 18 games since a 3-20 skid. Are the real Braves back? Is Chipper back? Is the second half of the season getting interesting? How important was Friday night’s wild win? Are you excited about the Braves again?

No free speech in their space
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
College athletes are starting to voice their opinions and give people a better sense of their true personalities via the Internet. Should these sites be monitored or restricted or not? What about free speech?

Not revved up about NASCAR
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
From the Daytona 500 in February through the July 1 Pepsi 400, the TV ratings for Nextel Cup races in metro Atlanta have declined 28 percent compared to the same period last year. Why is that? Is the racing less exciting? Has NASCAR gotten too far away from its roots and lost some of its fan base? Did the death of icon Dale Earnhardt drive some fans away? Has the sport finally become too trendy?

Post-game forum: Braves prevail somehow
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Braves beat the Padres 15-12 in 11 innings late Friday night. They overcame a bad start by Tim Hudson and an awful performance from closer Jorge Sosa. What did this night prove about the Braves? That they have a lot of character and are not ready to fold? That they still have a legitimate shot at a playoff spot? That Sosa is not the answer as closer? What is your take on the game?
