Uga at #37 and above Clemson???? Why?… I remembered Clemson spanking Georgia earlier in the season!

what the crap is this? Auburn is leading the SEC West and isn’t even mentioned in the top 8? Come on Tony…get your head out of your a*.

By SEC

Why would Tenn be on the bubble with LSU? And why would UGA not be on that bubble too. Tenn. beat Texas,OK State,Memphis,UGA,lost by two at Ohio State,by 2 at Vandy. Seems odd that UGA would make it ahead of Tenn or LSU. Of course there is still alot of games to be played.

Anybody noticed UGA’s half-court offense besides me? Even in the wins it ain’t real good. Force it in to Brown or fire a 3 with 2 on the shot clock and hope. #37 is generous right now.

To put GA Tech on the bubble is being most generous. Unless, of course all the games they might play in the tournament are scheduled for Tech’s home court.

TN has had some very good wins but they are somewhat erratic. They will be going to the big dance……….and I am not one of their fans.

hahahaha i’m pretty sure tech’s bubble has busted. if they want to have a chance they better do some soul searching and get their act together. every game i watch i lose more and more confidence in Paul Hewitt’s supposed coaching skills. they havn’t been evident lately

There is a margin of creditability that is breached with these Big East schools like the Big 10 in football. Ohio State was forced down our throat all year in football and people are still talking about how Michigan was robbed of a championship opportunity even after Florida beat Ohio State like a step child and Michigan looked ACC ish or worse against USC. There is an agenda out there and the local press almost acts as an agent of the college in pushing their local team. The early “to watch for” conferences by our own paper touted the SEC and gave lip service to the Big East and other points of college basketball and completely ignored the ACC as a serious contender to be watched in preseason. As I watch North Carolina I see another school as I saw Florida in football that is obviously superior, maybe even more so, that failed to be picked up on the radar. Since ranking in this case does not matter the press is generous in recognizing the obvious and ranking them number one finally, but down playing the strength in conference almost the same as football where the Big 10 is weak but these two teams are so strong, while the SEC is strong but not that good individually which proved to be the c** it was. The SEC is the man-child of college football and close in basketball, while the ACC has that position in basketball. In early outings FSU beat Florida and I think there were a few quality wins by Tech which may be the weakest team in the ACC. The south is reality and the east and midwest can deal with it or have 20 teams play in a tournament won by a small number of southern schools. Put that in your typewriter and smoke it.

Alabama is in… are you kidding me. All Alabama has managed to do is get their butt whooped. They can’t win on the road, and now is starting to lose at home to Arkansas and should have lost to UGA. That’s a joke. They shouldn’t even be considered. The only letters they should be hearing is NIT.

Nebraska was down to Kansas 36-6 with under 3 minutes to go in the first half. If they’re on the bubble, then how does an Auburn team not make your bubble list that beat Tenn and Alabama by 25 and Vandy with most of their losses being to top 25 teams, including Wisconsin, Pitt, A and M,m and FLorida who have all been in the top 6?

i can’t believe i picked ga tech to finish 2nd in the acc this year. anyone that can’t beat weak forest don’t desever to be in the ncaa tourney. but things are wacky in the acc this year. vt beats unc and then lose to nc state.

Most of you responding to this don’t have a clue. There is a very exact science to picking the at large teams. It involves RPI ranking as well as how you’ve played in your most recent games. Head to head meetings never matter unless you have two or more teams that are very, very close in the RPI. The selection process for the NCAA Tournament is a hell of alot more subjective than the BCS, which relies on human polls. The NCAA tournament doesn’t take human polls and rankings into effect at all.

I think JJ needs to learn the difference between “subjective” and “objective”. Visit a dictionary and then revisit your statement.

Alabama can’t win on the road, what did they just do last night? I believe it was a win AT LSU. I don’t really see anyone tearing it up on the road. Alabama should win out at home, and maybe pick up a couple more road wins. If they can get healthy, they are really one of the top teams in the league.

Someone please fire this dumb a* UGA number 37 and in with at large bid they have the same record as tech you ga homer and tech beat ga head to head pretty easy tech beat duke and memphis ill take that over kentucky and lsu both overrated. Neither ga team will make the dance

Can anyone tell me why it is that Paul Hewitt gets a pass for barely being above .500 and Chan Gailey gets nailed for his record? Hewitt has had great talent and can’t get the job done!! His ACC record absolutely sucks! And road record is even worse…… Hewitt apparently has risen to his level of incompetence and nobody’s even talking about it!

You’re giving the Big East too much credit. They were stacked last year, but they are not near as strong as they were last year. Syracuse? Did you see what happened to them against Notre Dame? Also an RPI near 60. Virginia helped their chances tonight with the win against Duke. Need to find a spot for them with a 6-2 mark in the ACC.

The terms “objectivity” and “subjectivity” are ambiguous. As opposed to attempting precision in definition, it makes more sense to simply demonstrate what it involves, and what it does not.

I’m supposing Tony is picking how things will shake out at this point in time.

As soon as Lofton returns for Tennessee, they’ll be back in the lock category. I’d put Alabama on the bubble before I’d put UT.

Having Barnhart handicap college bball is like having TMoore judge the MissWhiteAmerica contest (I know there isn’t such a thing but lay off).

All I had to see were his picks for the ACC. He’s obviously not been watching the games this year. UVA is definitely in, FSU and Clemson are probably on the bubble. GT, sadly is not in the picture unless a miracle turnaround occurs. The ACC should get 7 teams, maybe 8, but they will again get slammed because the overall strength of the conference causes multiple losses for all teams.
