Sandy Creek DB Johnson nearly committed to Georgia Tech

Sandy Creek safety Isaiah Johnson admits that he nearly committed to Georgia Tech shortly after receiving a scholarship offer from the Jackets during Junior Day on Jan. 31.

“I wanted to commit,” Johnson said. “But my [godfather] said ‘it’s a good school, but wait.’

“He just wants me to get some other looks. He wants me to make sure.”

Johnson, who also has offers from Duke and East Carolina, is aware that the Jackets will sign only 12 to 15 players in the class of 2010.

But Johnson said his Tech recruiting coach, Buzz Preston, hasn’t given him a deadline to commit or move on.

“When Georgia Tech offered me, they said they weren’t going to offer any other safeties,” he said. “They don’t want to rush me into making a decision, but I guess there could be a time distance [to commit].”

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back is also being recruited Auburn, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and UCLA.

UGA getting ready to go on Spring Break. Stocking up on beer and heading to Savannah for the annual “students passed out on the beach festival”.

“Our Athletes can drink your Athletes under the table”.

Smart student Athletes choose Tech over drunkardsville.

The headline reads “Sandy Creek DB Johnson nearly committed to Georgia Tech”. It should read, “Sandy Creek DB Johnson nearly made a huge mistake”.

It is funny to me how the gtu fans have replaced scu fans as the most delusional in college football. I must admit that scu has had more success against UGA during the last 18 years (with out cheating as per the NCAA) than has gtu. I really don’t hate tech, it goes much deeper than that.

While GT students are getting all hot and bothered about the next Gay Pride event, huh Jacketnation?

Oh by the way moron. Maybe you should call yourself Jacketpuptent. That’s about the true size of the trade school following. Most of whom have never set foot in a college class room. A fact that is obvious by the quality of the writing from you sissies.

He nearly committed til someone with a brain asked him why would he want to go to a program where not only the players are felons, Not only are former Heisman candidates/football staff are felons, but heck, even Yech’s facility members are felons!!! LOL, how much did the Yech employee steal, 180K? LOL, good grief that school is trash from the top down!!!

Observation: Of all the AJC blogs in which Tech and UGA fans try to uplift themselves by putting down the other side, the recruiting blogs are the worst. Consistently the worst, even when the subject is a player that only one of the schools is recruiting. Interesting. I wonder why that is the case.

RealityYech - I see you are still blogging back and forth to yourself. You really are a pathetic sidewalk fan aren’t you? So exactly what 2 ACC schools did you get your MBA from little girl???? BWAHHAHAHAHA! Its so sad that you are just another wal-mart mutt, obsessed with GT.

RY,

Looks like “LOL” is your number one fan. Talking about being obsessed, it’s clear you’re really the light of his life. This kook has more handles than I can shake a stick at. For your sake I hope he’s not a neighbor of yours or knows your true identity. Buddy isn’t exactly playing with a full deck if you know what I mean.

R/Y is blogging to himself again. A real wannabe sidewalk alumnus. He is still angry that I was boinking his Grammy during Tech’s 8 game win streak.

Red Alert GA recruits!!!! Richt will snatch your scholarship at the last minute & no explanation neccessary. In fact it will be swept under the rug.

45-42!!! THWG

You are a bery bitter, angry little man. Why is that? Why do you obsess over a blogger? You seem to think you’re the blog police. Telling people when is a cool “time,” or not, to post, what they can and can or can’t say, etc. You’re a perfect Obama puppet though. Good thing since you voted for him. Tell everyone about your Tech degree and company that you own. Everyone has been waiting to hear all about it for quite some time. Do you have another weekend planned of sitting in front of the computer waiting for RY to post?? Your family is obviously proud of you. Congrats.

Poor guy, he has no idea what he just got himself into. Why is Johnson so afraid of letting these younger kids visit over programs I wonder? Hmm…….
