Calhoun WR hopes UGA will be his sixth early offer
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Calhoun wide receiver Darick Rogers scheduled his first Junior Day visit to Georgia the weekend of March 21.
The 6-foot-3, 208-pound Darlington transfer currently has offers from LSU, Alabama, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Central Florida.
“I think Georgia or Oregon will be the next to offer,” he said. “I have been in contact with Florida as well and I think they will offer sometime over the summer.”
Rogers said Georgia Tech has not contacted him, and he does not think they will. “They run a Wing-T and triple option, so I’m not sure if they are interested,” he said.
Rogers said if he could play college football tomorrow he would want to play for Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide. “I visited Alabama a couple of times, and I really like the coaches and facilities there,” he said. “I know they have already offered, but I want to weigh my options and see how everything pans out.”
Rogers, who said he most likely sees himself playing in the SEC, hopes to make a college decision during the upcoming football season.

“They run a Wing-T and triple option…”
Hahahahahaha. Nerds call is a spread. All else call it, for what it is…archaic.

Hiveredtech,
Just because you typed last-year’s score six times doesn’t make it count more than once. UGA fans can actually type seven scores in a row that have you on the losing end, and they’re all from DIFFERENT GAMES. Your coach can explain what he wants, but it’s not even close to an offense that a top-level skill player will want to play in. You can keep your wing-t and we’ll keep our offense, which did just fine against you last year. Now…about our D…

Good work (UGA fans show their smarts again):
“That’s so rich” & “That’s hot” archaic…archaic enough to beat UGA.
“DOG FAN” more that a wrinkle…I say leave it the same because it seemed to work well enough last year to have you crying.
“Laughing” great point about typing the score for the 7 years before… to bad it was the archaic offense that beat you last year. If GT had it the seven years prior I’d be typing the scores for the past 8 years and you wouldn’t have the guts to post to this site.
“RealityYech” read the story again smart guy…he dreams of playing at Alabama. You can’t even get that part right.
Feel free to continue to compare past seasons to one that just ended if you would like. But the reality of the situation is that Paul Johnson and his archiac offense have never lost to UGA. Mark Richt can’t say that about himself!! Turns out he’s never beat Paul Johnson or his archaic offense, so stop your crying and deal with the fact that as it stands today UGA is the second best football team in the state of Georgia. Past wins and loses give you no comfort regardless of streaks!!

It is funny to me how the gtu fans have replaced scu fans as the most delusional in college football. I must admit that scu has had more success againg UGA during the last 18 years (with out cheating as per the NCAA) than has gtu. I really don’t hate tech, it goes much deeper than that.

Frank if you’re not one…you’re just as smart as they are.
That’s not saying much.
There’s no gtu in the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Oh and by the way it’s not scu, it’s usc.
Good work buddy!!

We can’t stop it? We’ve stopped it 59 times as opposed to your 39. I thought Techies were supposed to be good at math.

I graduated from Calhoun and have seen this kid play a few times this past season, including in the Dome for the championship game against Buford. He’s a pretty good player, but he’s also a real jerk, and he’s got an attitude problem. He thinks his *&^% don’t stink. I wouldn’t want him on my team.

p.s. He’s a “transfer” from Darlington sort of like Ryan Perriloux is a “transfer” from LSU..

I’m an Alabama Alum, and usually read the ajc comment boards to get a good laugh when I’m having an interesting day at work. Up until now, I’ve never had a reason to make a comment.
Why would anyone come on here and make negative comments about a kid? He’s a 17 / 18 year old kid. How would you feel if that was your son? Why can’t you just be happy that he’s trying to better his life by going to college? Your school or not!! I am a huge college football fan, but would never say anything about a kid who chose to go to auburn, UGA, Tech, or any other school.
And mdawg, cheering about a cheap shot is not cool!!

Thats so Rich, if it has been around long enough to be archaic, why has UGA not figured it out? Laughing8 in a row, Gt had 7 in a row, noone has 8 in a row. Dawgs in2009, how could you have stopped it 59 times when you only faced it once when being run by GT & CPJ? UGA Guys are too dumb to be on any blogg. Alabama and Auburn and Clemson are all smarter than they are.

gtu came from the mouth of one of techs recruits in the not too distant past saying how happy he was to sign with the georgia tech university. USC is reserved for the school in California that plays big time football, scu is in South Carolina.

The thing that I don’t understand is these tech idiots aren’t talking about the lor ast game they played much…..Hey Tech, your record against LSU and Georgia the last eight years is…….1-8. Get some tradition, a decent high school stadium, win your weak conference, or beat Wake Forest and North Carolina on a consistent basis and I think you can talk a little. Really, I don’t know why I took the time to write this ….our biggest rivals are UF, UT, and then mabye Tech. Just don’t see the chest thumping when you got embarrased the last game of the year.
