UGA’s other TE recruit Arthur Lynch, glad for addition of Orson Charles

Orson Charles was the second tight end to sign with Georgia for its 2009 recruiting class.

The first was Arthur Lynch of Dartmouth, Mass. Lynch said on Friday night that he was just fine with Georgia adding another player at his position.

“I’m glad he picked Georgia over the other schools, especially Tennessee,” Lynch said. “I heard he was a good player.

“It really doesn’t affect my situation. It will be good to have somebody else to compete against. I know once you get to college, it really doesn’t matter what you did in high school. Even with the players already at Georgia, you have to go out there and compete every day. The only thing I’m concerned about, or can control, is doing the best I can.”

Lynch signed with Georgia on Feb. 4, and talked later that night with one of his childhood heroes, Benjamin Watson, the former UGA standout who plays with the NFL’s New England Patriots. They two are supposed to meet up later this spring.

“I couldn’t believe it was [Watson],” Lynch said. “He has a reputation for being one of the nicest guys, and he sure seemed that way over the phone.”

Lynch said he also got an email from Georgia on Friday confirming that he met college entrance requirements.

tech is a joke. Blind squirrel…..Congrats to both Lynch and Charles. Two different players that will compliment our offense. What a collection of weapons.

I agree with Kendall. Who knows, we might see a 2 tight end set with these two.

Think about a single back set-up with two tight-ends and two wideouts, what is the defense going to concentrate on? It could be run or pass with weapons hot for either. Great day to be a Dawg, but then almost every day is!

Where is Tech on that list? 117th?

So glad we have both of these guys in Red and Black. Future looks incredibly bright.

I have a feeling we are going to see some formations with two tight ends in the future. Richt has already commented on that when trying to recruit orson. I agree that would be a very dangerous weapon that our offense needs. We will just have to see how this plays out. I hope both these guys are as good as advertised. One thing is for sure. We haven’t been getting any production out of the TE position the past few years and that has to change.
One more thing, techster your an idiot. Don’t get bitter just cause UGA has the ability to recruit guys like this when tech is stuck with no-name commits. Blind squirrel…

Orson is listed on Rivals as a WR and on scout as a TE. He had 1400 yards receiving his senior year. Those are tremendous numbers for a tight end. Does anyone know what position he actually played at Tampa Plant? Also, Aron White is a similar TE who is smaller but can catch the ball and pick up YACs. We will have a lot of competition at all of these positions and that will be good for all.

It is so funny how GT makes each other look so pathetic. They really do envy us. I love how they come attacking when we score big! They know better than anyone else we are restocking the talent and reloading players.GT can feel it too, they are loseing the recruiting war which equals to winning once every seven years. I’m so ready tp play the nerds next year. REVENGE

Techster, as most idiotic Tech fans do, overlooks the key statistical figure on the data he posted - those numbers are from the last 20 years, i.e. ‘88-‘08

Tech fans will try to claim 1-0 against UGA, but all you have to do is say 7-1 since 2000, and UGA almost twenty games ahead in the all time series. That is relevant statistical data with accurate perspective

Outside Georgia, the nation remembers GT in the Chicken Bowl 38-3. What a disgrace GT brought upon your state and the ACC. Can’t believe some of those guys brag about their team. We could have beaten them 70-3 if we wanted to. The 3 we gave them was a gift so they wouldn’t feel so bad.

The following list contains the top 10 colleges with the most players in the NFL: COLLEGE PLAYERS COLLEGE PLAYERS Ohio State 44 Louisiana State 32 Florida State 41 Texas 32 -{Georgia} 37 Florida 31 Michigan 36 Auburn 30 Tennessee 36 Notre Dame 30 THINK GEORGIA IS DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB NOW?

Hey Techster,

Why aren’t there any ORIGINAL ACC members in your top 10 list? Your conference is absolutely pathetic and an embarrassment to college football. The ACC went out and bought FSU, Va. Tech, BC and Miami in hopes of trying to compete with the SEC and their ORIGINAL members yet they’re still in the back of the bus. The ORIGINAL members of the ACC were so pathetic that conference officials were forced to make such humiliating efforts.

Next you’re going to start claiming every Miami National Championship as an ACC title.

You people are pathetic and deserve your misery and loserdom

BTW, THWGT if you check the history you will see that Virginia Tech actually forced their way into the conference. It was the threat of the State of Virginia in reducing funding to UVA that provided the swing vote in favor of expansion only if VT was included in the mix. If you have ever been to Blacksburg it is obvious that no way does the ACC “buys” into that on its own. With alumni like Michael Vick and DeAngelo Hall…the package speaks for itself!!

Leg humpers are so boorish. The most farcical point is that most of these minions have never even been to Sanford Stadium….much less have acquired a secondary education….They…instead, spend their meaningless Saturdays watching the idiot box and even more time reveling in the fictitous recruiting championship….Please carry on you worthless peons…..

Why do people that follow UGA football let the little f* tech fans change the subject? We’re supposed to be celebrating two of the best TE’s in the country coming to Athens. UGA has done a great job of reloading with fresh talent and they should be even better than the past several years, which have been pretty damn good. Tech f* can exit the blog and see if you can find something exciting to read about tech. Good luck, it won’t be easy.

“Leg humpers are so boorish”… oh well, tech fans are so jealous that they have to get on UGA blogs and talk trash because their team sucks. And BTW, how in the hell can you say most UGA fans never go to Sanford Stadium when techies can’t even fill up a 45,000 seat excuse for a stadium? I love it when we play you guys in Atlanta because their are as many of us Dawg fans (if not more) as there are of you. Please go ahead and say “45-42” because we’ll give you a 3 point win every eight years. I’m LMAO at that stupid s@#$!

Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin held a press conference to say Marlon Brown’s grandmother blocked Orson Charles from signing with Tennessee. Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson held a press conference to say he “pulled” his offer to Orson Charles. Georgia coach Mark Richt called a press conference to thank God for answering his prayers to make Orson Charles sign with Georgia.

Arthur’s joy is a true sign of his “team” attitude. He knows that a team has to be deep at every position because of injuries that will surely plague every football team. I’m glad he has an “it’s not all about me attitude”.

So, will Ros be swiched to DE as was predicted by some when he signed? Figgins, Lynch, White and Charles seem to put us very deep at TE.
