Iowa is first big-time offer for Lassiter QB Hutson Mason

Lassiter junior quarterback Hutson Mason received his first offer from Iowa on Thursday. “Iowa is a historic program with a great coaching staff,” he said.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior said he thinks Purdue will be the next to offer. “I have leadership on and off the field and I have the skills it takes it to be a Big 10 quarterback,” he said.

Mason said he has nearly 15 Junior Day visits scheduled but none to Georgia or Georgia Tech. “Tech is not my type of offense and Georgia is the only SEC school that has not contacted me at all,” he said.

As a Marietta and UGA alum, I wish you the best of luck in whatever school you end up at Huston.

What a tremendous young man. We met Hutson at the AL Jr. Day and exchanged information. Very poised and humble young man. I’m sure he will go far. Don’t worry, keep playing lights out football, and UGA will surface. It takes them a little longer for in-state kids, but if you can play, you will get an offer. Stay strong, live with hummility, and the sky is the limit for you! Cldn’t have happened to a nicer young man. We support you in all of your endeavors.

East Cobb Snob!? That is my Grandson your talking about! At 76 I can’t make the trip to Atlanta to watch him play in person, but I have no doubt that you can’t be personally knowledable of my Grandson’s character! His statistics speak for themselves, and although there is always a better player out there on any given Friday night, the package that a team will get with Hutson will be one that any coaching staff would be proud to call a graduate in the future. Keep talking trash and you’ll help me get him up hear in the midwest. Dr. Jimmy, it’s your turn. I’ve gotta go take my nap now……

East Cobb Snob? I guess this is written by the your typical Fulton county dead beat. While I admit that the BIG 10 is slightly more run oriented than the happy pass BIG 12 or PAC 10, at least they score points unlike the $EC. As far as the Dawgs are concerned…enjoy your 7 wins next season and a trip to the Peach Bowl.

It is better to be a winner in a little league than a team that was #1 and didn’t even get to the playoff in the SEC. Go Hawks!!!
