Henry County WR Markeith Ambles not concerned by lack of UGA offer

Henry County wide receiver Markeith Ambles says he’s not fretting who’s offering football scholarships and who’s not.

That includes whether or not he’ll attract an offer from Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound senior has more than 20 offers. “I don’t think I’ve hit 30 yet,” he said.

The offers are from most of the SEC schools. Ambles said he has had conversations with Georgia recruiters and believes he may get an offer eventually. But first, a visit.

“I need to pick a day and go there and talk to the coaches,” he said, offering no specifics of when that might be. “I ain’t really worried about it right now.”

Ambles is focusing on baseball and working out. He has no unofficial visits planned.

“I’m not in any rush to make any decisions,” he said. “I’m just chilling.”

Ambles had 53 receptions for 993 yards and 13 TDs last season. His offers include Florida, Georgia Tech, USC, Florida State, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss and West Virginia.

Markeith would be a perfect fit with CPJ’s spread offense. Imagine the possibilities.

He should go ahead and commit to the Dawgs now in case he gets an offer later on because we are going to be preseason champs this year & next year & forever. We have the prettiest coach ever who is a saint & is going to show our wayward athletes the way back to the staight & narrow. Amen.

If we can teach these kids to read, at least they’ll be better off than when they got here. And some people assume that everyone knows how much a 3-point shot is worth. Not true! That’s what Institutions of Higher Learning are all about.

But none of this matters axcept for the fact that the Dawgs will be preseason NC’s.

I don’t no why UGA hasn’t been persuing in state receivers. 0-3 for 2009,although i’m very satisfied with Brown and Wooten.I just think they should go hard after Ambles and Jones.I’m also confused about not offering Vogler even if they sign Charles to go along with Lynch. These players are just to good to pass on.

UGA won’t be offering and I am surprised we offered him. This kid is trouble. Bad attitude. Very much a ME guy and let’s not talk about what he did that has teams like UGA afraid to offer. He won’t be cleared to get into a few schools due to his misdeed off the field. He is a guy that many would be happy with leave the state of Georgia.

Bingo!

the intheknowGTfan is right on target.

you don’t offer a kid just because he has talent. you offer him if he can combine talent and character. everyone will blast the school he chooses to go to when he finds himself arrested sometime during his school career.

Hey Markeith, maybe you would have an offer if you hadnt skipped the UGA camp to go to the one in Kentucky. Maybe you would have an offer if you had “found a ride” to Athens. Maybe you would have had an offer if you had shown ANY interest in UGA. You reap what you sow, kid. Hope you enjoy the “crunk” times that the joke kiffEn showed you… U T Wildboys U T Wildboys U T Wildboys…what a joke.

If he likes a little bling as in a Championship ring, he’ll take a real good look at Florida, who next year will be in dire need of wide recievers! We only got one this year, Andre Debose, and he will be playing a couple of different positions (see: Percy Harvin). This year we lost Percy and Louis Murphy and next yr 2 or 3 more. I assume he’s good if Fla offered but any receiver prospect better be ready to come in and get on the field!!!

I agree with Big Man, InTheKnowGT Fan.

If you truly are “in the know” as you claim to be, then say what he did that has UGA “afraid” to offer him. If not, then shut the he** up, because all you’re doing is trashing the name and reputation of a kid who may not deserve it.

Don’t be a punk. Say what’s on your mind!

By do you really want to go there, St. simons?

March 3, 2009 1:52 PM | Link to this

So, St. simons, you still haven’t figured out how to complete that math equation? Let me refresh you memory:

45 minus 42 = 3 which is probably your unit size.

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe. Or as you like to put it, hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

If you’re one of the super brilliant Tech fans, why not come up with something new?

BigMan, I will not state what I know about Ambles and his situation. Understand that UGA isn’t just the only school who look at off the field issues which is what Ambles has had in the past. Ambles himself publicly admitted that in updates on ugasports.com and dawgpost.com so what I am saying isn’t already public knowledge, but what he has done isn’t public knowledge. Also PUSU needs to get a clue. If you don’t know anything then you Shut the heck up.

By GA

The reason he does not have an offer has nothing to do with his interest in UGA. It has everything to do with past troubles. Rumor has it he was kick out of a previous school and by the guidelines at UGA he cannot be admitted.

IntheKnowGTFan:

Just as I thought. You are one of these ignorant boobs that jump on these sites with the intent to smear an athlete - probably because so many of them took your lunch money or your girlfriend (or both) back when you were in high school.

If Ambles has already talked non-specifically about his past, why would you feel the need to come on this site and talk about why UGA is afraid to offer him (although several schools have)?

He didn’t speak maliciously about UGA or any other schools that haven’t offered him yet. He didn’t say something to Michael like, “UGA is dumb for not offering me yet … they better get in line.” In his words he said, “…I’m not worrying about it right now…”

So, please, shut the HE** up! And remember to shut down your computer and turn off the light in your mom’s basement when you’re done! We’ve got to conserve energy you know!

Dear Dog Doo - I am glad that you came from an institution of Higher learning. I never know that “axcept” was a real word and for some reason I could not find it in my dictionary. Doy you know any other words that aren’t in the dictionary?

By IntheknowGTFan

Put Up or Shut Up, Hey you need to follow your handle and you need to get some anger management classes as well. Do you have reading comprehension issues? As said Ambles himself has said he had some off the field issues he needs to discuss with Mark Richt which was why he was going to visit Mark Richt last Tuesday, but he couldn’t get a ride after he was set to go there. UGA will not offer an player they won’t be able to get through the character part of the process (See micheal bryant as an example of that). So until that is worked out Ambles will not get an offer and his off the field issue isn’t something new and it’s not bashing the kid. It’s something everyone, but you seem to know about and as I said I was surprised we offered due to that.

Also you got to grow up and get a clue.

Is it me or any player in Georgia not considering UGA…trouble. Last time I noticed UGA had more players arrested than any other SEC team in the last 12 months. Oh well it must be my imagination.

I am sick and tired of every comment on recruiting around this site turning to a UGA - GT bash. Talking smack is fun but lets all do that when we play each other again. Anyway, I tried looking for character issues with this kid, but all I found was that he got into a couple fights, so nothing serious. Looks like he is a bigtime prospect all around the country and was really hyped about his Cali scholarship.

Hey dulusional uf fans>start looking for a* kissing recruits that will do more than they need to>like jepordising their health to win games for urbancrier, who only wants to win games-nevermind if they stay healthy enough to go pro.Maybe thats why uf has never had a player ever make it to the superbowl and be a MVP.Champ bailey was picked to be Sports Illistrated top 10 player of all time>since football began.Hines Ward-mvp the last superbowl.Stroud-Jags/C.Bailey-denver>to mention a few.The uf players make good bench warmers at best.Go dawgs/Marines.AARRRRTTTTTT.

Thanks to all who shed some light on my question. All I had ever heard about the kid was that he transferred to HC. I figured it was to play in the passing offense and for exposure since Griffin doesn’t really utilize their receivers much.
