Georgia men’s basketball signees are certainly faring better than their future team.
Guard Demario Mayfield led Franklin County to its first-ever region championship last weekend by averaging 23 points during the three victories. He provided the game-winning free throws in the closing minute during the 58-55 victory against Elbert County in the title game. Mayfield also recently passed the 2,000-point mark in his career.
Mayfield now leads Franklin County into the state tournament by hosting North Hall Saturday. The Lions are ranked No. 5 in Class AAA by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
And Loganville Christian Academy center Daniel Miller recently led the Lions to their third straight championship of the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia-Alabama while being named most valuable player for the second consecutive year.
He ended the season by averaging 20.8 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and connecting on 73 percent of his shots. In many games, he played one half because of lopsided scores.

Miller plays against the worst competition possible. All the kids he plays against wouldn’t make most GHSA schools JV teams, most of the kids are under 6 foot.

Can we give back ALL of Felton’s recruits and start over? He screwed us worse than Harrick!

Miller is a very skilled big man who has potential to develope into a big time center. Yes, he played against lesser competition at LCA but thats not where he got recognition. Everyone noticed him when he was playing all over the country for the Georgia Ballers in AAU against some high end talent. He does have some improving but I think he will be big in the future for UGA. GO DAWGS!!!

Im pumped about Daniel playing for the Dawgs next year. Yes he does have some work to do but he is a very talented athlete. As UGA said he got all of his recognition from AAU ball and not very many schools noticed him before then. He will be fine at the next level and give us some size. I played with him when he was a sophomore so i know what he can do first hand.

As a die hard Georgia fan I would like to say Thank God we are getting Daniel Miller. I have been blessed to be around Daniel and to watch him play. I believe that not only is Daniel an asset to UGA as an athlete but he will be a true leader. Daniel is not only blessed with physical ability but has wonderful morals and intelligence. If schools could recruit more young men like Daniel they would be LUCKY!! I look forward to watching Daniel play and grow while playing for UGA next year . I have only known Daniel for a short time compared to some people but it doesn’t take long to know what a special young man he is!!! As a fan and a donor I would like to thank UGA for signing Daniel Miller. GO DAWGS!!!!
