Tucker’s James Vaughters, one of the state’s top sophomores, has early scholarship offers from N.C. State and Central Florida.
Vaughters, 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, can play linebacker or defensive end. He has a 4.0 GPA.
“[Vaughters] possesses an unique combination of intelligence and athletic ability,” Tucker coach Franklin Stephens said. “He’s a strong, powerful player that plays with a lot of intensity.”
Tucker High is traditionally one of the state’s top producers of college football prospects.

James, Best of luck in your recruiting. Just remember that Coach Spurrier’s word is worthless. Oh, I guess everyone at Tucker already knows that.

Good grief - a sophomore? In my opinion colleges seem desperate (including UGA) when they offer sophomores. I guess the middle schools are fair game next.

you should see this kid ,this kid is a beast, carry his self like a college student. very smart on and off the field. comes from a very good family.Always polite. Works hard in the weight room. By the time he is a senior he will be one of the top players in the country. If football does not work out he could always turn to his academics.

Bouye, it’s a shame that your last sentence is an afterthought. I’d say that if he’s got a 4.0, he’ll be fine no matter what. My guess is that a 6’2” 220 lb sophomore will turn into a 6’4” 240 lb senior, which is a force to be reckoned with. With those kind of academics, it’s only a matter of time before Stanford, UGA and Vandy offer.
