Henry County WR Markeith Ambles in no hurry to trim list

Markeith Ambles knows it’s nearly a year between now and the time when he’ll need to make a decision about his football future in college, so he’s in no rush to narrow down his list of offers.

The Henry County wide receiver, who had 53 receptions for 993 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, says he’s going to be patient and take it all in. He has 22 offers.

“I’m going to talk to everyone. I’m really not trying to focus on anyone just yet,” he said. “I’m going to just wait it out. Whenever I feel it, I’ll know it’s time to make a decision.”

Ambles has made two Junior Day visits this spring, the latest on Saturday at Alabama, but with baseball season starting — he starts in right field — he’s not planning any more visits right now.

He knows what he’s looking for in a college program. “I’ve got to be real cool with the coaches,” he said. “I’ve got to have a chance to play early. It has to be a good school and a good football program.”

He wouldn’t say Alabama fits those expectations, but said he came away impressed with his visit to Tuscaloosa. “It was nice. [Coach Nick Saban] was awesome,” he said. “I loved it down there.”

Alabama is on an offers list that also includes Georgia Tech, Florida, USC, LSU, Florida State, Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, North Carolina and Arkansas.

If Tech doesn’t start passing more than they did last year they will not be able to recruit quality WR’s.

How funny. Do you even check what you write? He has NOT been offered by UGA. And probably wont be any time soon.

Kendall implied that somebody had said UGA had offered… thus the need to emphasize that they had not and attempt to correct whoever thought they had… (i’m guessing Kendall was directing it at the article but didn’t really read it that well).

Anyways, he’s not going to get an offer from UGA anytime soon. UGA has already offered 5-6 WR’s and they probably only need 1-2. Early playing time probably won’t be available either with Green and Brown locked in for at least two more years together.

Who are “somebody implied” & “whoever thought? Kendall can’t read either. Must be Journalism majors. I wouldn’t jump in the boat with them if I were you JM.

Yes, Kendall CAN read. The author of this article CAN edit as well. Cuatro and myself both saw the article before the change was made. BBA undergrad and Arch I masters. I can read just fine.

Dan, I would suggest hooked-on-phonics and any number of books on reading for comprehension. There is no doubt that you are a math nerd from tech but you should look into what was inferred by earlier comments. Thanks for playing and good luck finding a pretty girl from State who likes your pocket protector.
