Georgia Tech 2010 commitment trying to recruit state’s offensive linemen

Collins Hill tailback Charles Perkins is Georgia Tech’s first 2010 commitment, and he wants to take a few big offensive lineman with him to college.

“We have a some great offensive linemen in Georgia … guys like JaWuan James of North Gwinnett and Max Garcia of Norcross … I’m trying to talk to them about Georgia Tech,” Perkins said. “Any running back knows that it all starts with your blockers.”

The 6-foot-7, 290-pound James has around 20 scholarship offers, including UGA, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Vanderbilt. He is considered to be the state’s top junior prospect at offensive tackle.

“Yeah, Charles has been telling me about Georgia Tech,” James said with a laugh. “He’s a good guy, one of my friends. Georgia Tech is a great school, too.”

When James got a surprise offer from Tech on Thursday, Perkins was one of the first to send congratulations. “He was like … Georgia Tech, that’s where you need to be. You need to be blocking for me. I’d like it for you to block for me,” James said.

The 6-foot-5, 271-pound Garcia has early offers from Alabama, Maryland and Vanderbilt, according to GoGamecocks.com.

Yeah James, learn how to do those cowardly chop blocks Johnson teaches his OL. That will REALLY get you ready for the next level!! LOL!!! Clearly Perkins doesn’t know squat about the team he committed to. If he wants blockers, he needs to be recruiting WR’s. Since RB’s in Johnson’s system are too scared to run between tackles, LOL!!!

Ironic that after GT ran all over, through and around UGAG, that this imbecile would cast aspersions on the rushing attack of Tech. CPJ—You don’t have to love it, reality, but you better learn to live with it!!

In case none of you noticed, let me have the honor of pointing out that this is a Recruiting Blog and not and Insult Blog.

If you want to talk recruiting, this is the right place. If you don’t, then take your trash talking somewhere else.

Now, for the topic at hand. I personally think that Charles is demonstrating a tremendous Leadership quality in his actions, and something that could help build a special bond early with this group of Recruits coming on Campus at GA Tech in 2010.

The closeness that can be generated early on, before they become Teammates, will translate into lifelong friendships, which these young men will learn is a treasure unto itself.

And what you will have to learn to live with is more azz whippings like LSU gave you. That offense won’t stay viable for long at this level. And CPJ will never have the passing attack to go with it (Josh Nesbitt..Jaybo Shaw..LMAO). And maybe while you’re at it moron, you mites can probably get used to 400+ yards passing and multiple TDs against your pitiful defense. You were horrible last year and will be even worse next year. Got Rings girls?

LMAO I love it every time some Ugag fan has to hide behind LSU. You just had the greatest QB/RB tandem in your history and you lost to GT’s first year coach. Mutt check list for 2009… Stafford - gone Moreneo - gone Martinez - check Spray Tan - check Recrootin’ hype - check AUC hype - check Delusional fans - check Black jerseys - check

You tech fans are about cocky as hell!ya’ll win 1 big game and think ya’ll are contenders. Your progam will never be as good as Georgia’s.Always remember that 7 and 1 is alot better than 1 and 7.Has tech won a bowl game this century??

It’s quite entertaining that every time I post my facts I get slammed with being a “meanie head” and “throwing insults.” Chop blocks are dirty as hell, anyone in their right mind would agree to that. And yes, that is exactly what Saint Johnson teaches his OL to do his gimmicky system. And yes, the RB’s in this same system never run between tackles. It’s a TRIPLE OPTION, you douches, LOL!!!! Options don’t go between the tackles.

Yeah The Sting, funny Yech fans would have a problem with any UGA fans bringing up LSU (since we actually played and beat them) while Yechies have been hiding behind UF for nearly 20 years. A team you never face. :)

Hey Lesticle:

In case you were busy drawing up more downfield throws for meaningless times in ball games that have been decided, here’s a news flash for you…Gardner Webb gave GT a better game than UGA.

I’d love to see the GW/UGA matchup…what a coyboy up, gunslingin’ battle that’d be. LSWho takes the winner, since you already had your a**es handed to you by UGA earlier in the year.

P.S. How’s that graduation rate lookin’ these days?

Why don’t you nerds keep your a$$ off our site? Go play outside or somethings. If you people don’t shut up we will send Willow to coach your team so we can run 400+ too. So go away and learn a right way to blog.

To the fake CMR,

Another tech fan hiding behind yet another team? Don’t you guys give UGA fans crap for bringing us up? Tech hypocrisy clearly knows no bounds. Yes, Gardner Webb gave you a battle. The fact you’re reaching for anything to say positive about that pathetic scheduling is laughable. Yeah sure, Army dropped you, but what the heck are you doing scheduling Army in the first place!??!!? What powers are you playing this year? J-ville State again? Furman? Samford? Your program is a joke. Almost as funny as that ridiculous offense your coach tries to run.

Our graduation rate is looking a lot better than your felony arrests. What can we expect this year? You’ve already had a drug dealer, rapist and a coach that had a hit & run while drunk and high.

If the “yech” poster actually knew the difference between a CHOP block (illegal), and a CUT block (legal) it would help.

He doesn’t …. therefore, he sounds like an idiot when claims that a coach would actually teach his players to perform ILLEGAL - and dangerous - blocking schemes to his players.

If “yech” actually learns the difference between a CHOP and CUT block, then he’ll also notice the ALL teams teach CUT blocking!

“Reality”…what a total dumbass you are. One of the options in the triple option is the B-Back up the middle, which is run about 30% of the time. Just ask Miami or FSU about that play as we probably ran for 400 - 500 yards between the tackles against the two of them. Of course mommy probably took your TV time away and you didn’t get to see any of those games.

I played for CPJ and Erk in the 80’s. So I know his system extensively. This offense was originally called the “Hambone” named after Tracy Ham. This is what was written: It’s a TRIPLE OPTION, you douches, LOL!!!! Options don’t go between the tackle. Dude you make yourself look more stupid each time you blog. What do you think the 3 options are in the Triple Option? The 1st one is the the fullback or the “A” Back. Where does he go? “A” Gap. Now Please tell the class where the “A” Gap is. You got it between Guard and Center. Would that be considered between the tackles? I don’t know why don’t you tell me? Cut Blocks are part of the game. As a defender we did drills to combat it. If it wasn’t legal we wouldn’t have drilled for it. Chop Blocks are not legal. Why don’t you research a little more before put stupid crap on here. Keep it about recruiting. This kid wants to have good players around him. I commend him for being aggressive about it. Wouldnt you? Oh yeah Nevermind.

By Rock

February 22, 2009 4:35 PM | Link to this

Correction “B” Back is the 1st Option. This kid is being recruited as the “A” Back which is played as like a slot.

By Rock

February 22, 2009 4:43 PM | Link to this

The “B” Back or Dwyer can run outside as we’ve seen with the slot a s a lead blocker and there is a couple of plays where the “A” Back can run between the tackles on traps or an “under” play. CPJ has not installed those yet. The first year was basic but fans will see the dynamics of the offense as each year reveals more and more.

By Jon Dwyer?

February 22, 2009 4:54 PM | Link to this

Last time i checked, Dwyer ran all over uga and other teams this year between the tackles, pure ignorant comment.

Illegal late hits, illegal personal fouls, illegal blocks in the back, illegal police arrests, illegal face masks, illegal roughing the passer. Ga led the nation in illegal. I wouldn’t concern myself too much with a cut block if I were a GA fan.

By yellow flags

February 22, 2009 10:14 PM | Link to this

UGA was the 3rd most penalized team in the NCAA in 2008. 932 yds of penalties.

Massoquoi only had 920 yds receiving, thus negating his entire output.

so you dawg fans keep yapping. your preseason #1 ranking was a fantasy and your program and coach simply are not as good as the hype.

By Voice of Reason

February 23, 2009 1:10 AM | Link to this

The poster is right. 85% of the time the plays are being ran outside the tackles. Why does that upset you guys anyway? Is it less manly to go outside than inside? Who cares as long as they’re getting the yardage.

Hey Rock………when did you play for Erk? You got to love how PJ has the hambone running at Tech. I look forward to the 2nd & 3rd year of PJ’s offense at Tech. I am willing to bet that Tech will be close to playing for a National Championship in year 3 & 4.

Come back to Paulson and visit Tailgate Row. You are always welcome at the RFG location. Just look for DH.

Hey JD: I played ‘84-‘87. Yes I look forward to it too. If you remember our long ball was always a threat with Monty Sharpe and Tony Belser on the Fly. Tracy Ham back then set a rcord for 1st QB to run and pass for a combined amount. Dont remember the amount, But yeah…. it will be fun to see him install variations of it. If he gets a a better QB it will be really dangerous. Nesbitt wasnt bad he just wasn’t great. Somebody like Pat White from West Va. would of taken GT far. It is really hard to be a full-fledged fan of a school when you played for another one but with Giff, Sewak and CPJ there I’m a new fan because they are like family to me. I grew up a UGS fan. My best friend in high School Troy Sadowski was a UGA All-American. He was responsible for my career there. He told Dooley to tell Erk, about me etc. I remember in the summer of ‘85 CPJ was a Defensive line coach who Erk promoted to Off. Coordinator. Erk had alot of Guts as a coach. He really took some Gambles. Everything he touched turned gold. Leaving UGA promoting a DL coach to OC, etc. My son Plays LB for North Gwinnett. But Thanks you for the invite. The Eagle Football Alumni Assoc is always inviting me down I cant wait to go down. Take Care, Rock
