Michigan offers Gainesville QB Blake Sims

Gainesville junior quarterback Blake Sims and wide receiver Tai-ler Jones are poised to make the Red Elephants one of the most explosive offenses in the state this fall.

That fact hasn’t gone unnoticed by college recruiters, who continue to extend scholarship offers to the talented duo.

Jones’ received an offer from Oklahoma on Tuesday morning. Sims countered with an offer from Michigan on Tuesday night.

“I think it’s great to get an offer from a school like Michigan,” said Sims, who also claimed offers from Florida International and Troy today. “If I go play for them, maybe I’ll by the guy that can lead them to a national championship.”

Jones, who also counts Georgia Tech among his many offers, plans to attend Junior Day at Alabama on Saturday, while Sims heads to Knoxville for Tennessee’s Junior Day.

“I’m looking forward to going to Tennessee on Saturday and trying to develop a relationship with the coaches,” Sims said. “Junior Day is a good time for me to go and meet [Tennessee] coach [Lane] Kiffin.”

Gainesville senior Shammond Stringer is expected to sign a letter of intent with Shorter on Wednesday.

I saw him play a couple times i dont know what the colleges that run the spread are thinking, but this kid can flat out play football. I would go out on the lim to say he’s one of the best football players in the state, if not the country. Go see him play, he’s very exciting. Tech i don’t know what yall’ are waiting on he’s yalls answer at quarterback.

Comparing Michigan to Ga.Tech is laughable at best. Blake would never put himself in a position to fail by going to a place like Ga.Tech. Tailer would be the best WR on Tech’s team right now.

I noticed in the paper yesterday that x-QB Steven Treet, who transferred to Michigan was now leaving Michigan. Treet is 6’6” tall and a pro style QB. Rodriquez wants QBs like he had at W. VA. so he can run his spread offense. Still, would love to have as many GOOD QBs at GT as possible.

I was trying to be funny when I said tech, he would be perfect for a team that runs the spread because he can run and pass. and if Rodriguez wants a qb like he had at Michigan i think the Sims kid is better than Pat White because hes more accurate and looks to be a better runner.. this young man can really play football. remember everyone that i said this. whatever college gets him goin get a winner. If i was a recruiter i wouldnt waste no time, id be all over him.. he seems to do these things on the field with no effort. i been watching football for over 40 years and i done saw some talent and this kid has it.

Seems all the negative news about UT has no affect on young athletes. All the coverage is just getting the Vols name out there as the new up and coming NFL mill. I am a bit worried to be honest.
