Warner Robins DT Jeffrey Whitaker has Georgia Tech, UGA offers

Warner Robins defensive tackle Jeffrey Whitaker, who is one of the state’s top prospects for 2010, said his most recent offer was from Georgia Tech.

“I talked with [assistant coach Charles Kelley], he said an offer is in the mail,” Whitaker said.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Whitaker has around a dozen offers, including North Carolina, UGA, Alabama and South Carolina. Whitaker said what has excited him the most is the idea of earning a college degree.

“The recruiting is going fine, but I’m just happy about the college part,” he said. “I’m not sure if too many people saw that coming when I was younger. I’ll be the first member of my [immediate] family to graduate from college. To me, that’s more exciting than the football.”

Jeffrey, congratulation! Stay in state. Both Tech and UGA are great institutions.

Do you want to be on TV on Thursday nights or on prime time Saturdays? ACC or SEC, Yellow Jackets or Bull Dawgs, 45,000 people or 90,000 people.

Good luck.

I talk about GT fans getting mad at facts, but in all REALITY i am the one who is just so ticked off that gt beat my beloved dawgs, so now i spend all of my time trying to belittle GT and their fans. I just can’t seem to grasp how pathetic I am :(.

That’s why they select these games, moron.

Jeffrey can go to GA and play in front of 90000 hicks like RealityYech and when he’s through with football he will have some imaginary degree that will qualify him for flipping burgers. Or, he can chose the other option that will open doors for the rest of his life.

“Did Herchel ever come back and get his Crayon Technology Degree?”

Yep. After only his first pro season Herschel returned to UGA to finish up his criminal justice degree. He also was valedectorian of his high school class and is now a very successful business man that gives more money to charity than most Tech grads will ever make in their entire lives. In other words, he is a winner. Herschel Walker represents the University of Georgia better than any Tech football player could ever represent the North Avenue Glorified Trade School.

I’m willing to sit back and let Tech fans spew venomous lies about Georgia football players to a point, but you cross a line with Herschel. Herschel Walker craps bigger than Georgia Tech football. Good day.

Billy, that’s only one recruiting poll, and we really didn’t go head to head very much except for Stephen Hill who ya’ll really didn’t want to begin with, but then went after really hard, but then you definitely didn’t want, or need, after he said he wasn’t changing his mind.

I will give you that all the polls have this year’s class ahead of GT.

The margin is closing and I’m just trying to help you come to terms with it.

Consider it a favor.

Hmm, You obviously have reading words syndrome. It’s a very clever illness followed by replying with nonsense. Last I checked Calvin was a while ago (thus the comment I made). Morgan Burnett made it clear he wasn’t going to end up at UGA because he wanted to make a name for himself. That happens often when you have a legacy. Josh Nesbitt.. LOLOL UGA gets who they want instate between gt and uga, unless they of course offer the kid a week before signing day..

Buddy El, I have two good friends who are Chief Surgeons at their respective hospitals( one in ATL & a major one) & they were both engineers. Another who was a HS classmate from my little dinky high school also was a Tech grad & is a M.D. although I I am not sure what kind. My own family Dr. is an Emory grad. I will say that two of the most dangerous quacks ever to practice medicine in my little town were GA grads.

So take that & stuff it.

Seems I answered your questions, and you responded with garbage. You girls also wanted Stephen Hill. Now im not saying that GT gets every recruit over uga, athens gets most of them, but to say that GT NEVER gets a recruit over uga is ignorant and laughable. Exactly what i would expect from a mutt. That forbes ranking is laughable. Since when is La Grange college above GT? LOL what a joke.

I hope he comes to UGA, but, more importantly, I hope he stays healthy and keeps his grades up so that he can go somewhere. I love hearing about young people who are the first in their family to have the opportunity to attend college. Whether it is through sports, the HOPE, or academics, finding a way to be the first college graduate in the family is the American dream. Good luck to him.

Jeffrey, take your time when making a decision and have your parents deeply involved in the process. If you’re seriously considering Tech, keep this in mind (from the AJC) about their fan base:

Georgia Tech ranked No. 48, drawing 47,489 per game, down 5.5 percent from 50,280 in 2007.

You have your best season in years and your attendance DROPS?!?!

Okay, Baba, how about we have won 7 of the last 8 meetings over Tech, 14 of the last 19, etc. etc.? Also, UGA averaged over 92,000 per game versus gt’s 47,000. How about we’re one of only two teams to win at least 10 games 6 out of the last 7 years? How about that UGA puts more players in the NFL over gt? Need I say more, Baba?

Hey, RAMBLE Steve Kneejerk ON Superior, how have you been? You like to pop off about Herschel’s personalities. Sounds like you have more post names than he has personalities. Lame, dude, lame.

Typical gt fallback. You can’t back up your own football program so you bring UF to the fight. So here’s the facts:

Since 1990 UF has owned UGA by winning 16 out of 19 games.

Since 1990 UGA has owned GT by winning 14 out of 15 games.
