Tennessee makes early offer to M.L. King RB Mack Brown

M.L. King junior tailback Mack Brown received an offer from Tennessee.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound tailback now has offers from nearly every SEC school. Georgia and Georgia Tech have already offered him as well. Alabama and Auburn offered earlier this week.

Despite rumors that he is leaning towards Florida, Brown said there is no clear favorite. “I’m going to make all my visits first,” he said.

He had a lot of good things to say about UT in the Tennessee media today. He said Eric Berry is his favorite player and he has lots of friends on the team. Good luck wherever you go.

Mr. Brown, I hope you select the Gators some day, but please make the best choice for you and be happy with that choice. But, please, don’t be another high schooler that makes a mockery out of the recruiting process…please. Make ALL your visits. Then choose a place YOU are comfortable with. Then stick with that choice. Show some honor. Don’t be like Greg Reid and all the others that commit too early (and even are pressured into doing so) and then have a change of heart because you commmitted too early. Be like the TE, Charles, from Tampa. Take your time. Do what is right for you. Commit when you want to commit, but then stick with that commitment because you are an honorable, trustworthy, and sensible young man. Good luck to you.

Mack, come to GT, you will get to run all you want to run, plus a great education! If not to Tech, then seeing you at the University of Texas would be something. Two Mack Browns!!

Too bad his career will last only 2 conference games (at max) if he goes to play for Lame Duck Lame at UcheaT. thanks to that new a*******clown coach of theirs, every pumpkin player is going to have a HUGE target on his back. just hope he can make it to that third Saturday..

Too bad Eric Berry will not be there when this goes to school, where ever that may be, atlvol11. May be ole LAME Kiffin won’t be there either. Good luck to him but he needs to learn to shut his mouth. Been in the coaching business long enough to know that sometimes it is better to sit back and be quiet until you have been at a place for a little while, at least a year or two before you go spouting off!

Go Dawgs!

I agree with TampaGator except the choosing UF part. I would advise against choosing UT. That new coach is a f@cknut.

Mack needs to come on down to Gainesville and be a Gator! Hopefully he has the intelligence not to be taken in by Babe Tiffin’s smoke and mirrors….Oh that’s right, SEC and NCAA says he can’t break the rules anymore with the smoke!

Go Gators….end of the season 2008 BCS Champions.

I honestly believe that the numbnuts are the fans that are badmouthing Tennessee and their new coach. I would call it just a little bit of jealousy! Knoxville is a fantasic place to not only go to school, but to live. The school has facilities that no one can touch. And a fan base that has no pro alleginces locally, so it's all U.T. Fantastic weather. four seasons, the Smoky mountains 45 minutes away. What's not to like. Come on recruits, come to Knoxville. You won't be sorry. Oh, and by the way, the best coaching staff, arguably ,in the SEC.

Not jealous of utk! We know how to play football here in the great state of Georgia. You viles should know, Georgia kids have been the reason your program stays decent for years! The state of tennersee is the only state in the SEC that doesn’t have a great recruiting base. What do you guys play up there croquet, instead of football?

In reference to Bank Walkers post, you have to be a little jealous of UTK. Not only have we raided Ga. but looked good doing it! Every school stays decent with OOS kids maybe us more than anyone else but to put it out there like that is loco. Look at Bama, even yourselves, bama continues to mid/west TN. Shoot I bet you won’t give Marlon Brown back!
