Looks like Lane never knows when to shut up. Regardless of the circumstances of the grandmother or whatever happened, Lane needs to learn to keep quiet. Meyer and Saban will embarass him on national tv and he keeps trying to put little digs towards UGA. What is sad is his players are going to have a bullseye on their jerseys because he can not keep his mouth shut. He may turn out to be a great coach but he definately lacks class. Football in this area is a way of life and taken very seriously. He does not need to make any more enemies.

It seems that Kiffin is the most talkative coach in the country b4 he coaches his first college game. I’m betting that won’t turn out well. His dad(on D), Orgeron (recruiting), and Vol lure(recruiting) should be enough to make it a hit. But he seems like his mouth can mess all that up.

Kiffin, lies so much,The statement he made about keeping a fence around Tenn, must have went past Austin Long as well. Some have him as the best lineman in Tenn, and he came to UGA. This hire, and Auburn’s hire, in two years, will be the biggest joke in the SEC. He comes in and cry’s foul on U. Myer,try’s to steal a UGA coach, calls out Spurrier[ok, thats a good move,]and now he’s blaming, losing a kid on his Grandma! This must be some sick promo going on up there to keep ticket sells up. Kiffen, no matter what you do, that is UT, and if you don’t win, you’re done. UT fans are just like any other top tier program in the SEC, don’t win, and you’re done.AT best next year you’re an 8 win team, and if you think it was tough in Oakland, boy you ain’t met SEC fans on Saturdays. Until then, Coach shut up, learn, and realize this is the Premier conference in the country. And the only thing that gets you love is Wins.

I’m sure when (if) Marlon called Lame K. the night before signing that he would have intended the conversation to stay ‘private’. So, what Lame K. is basically telling the media is that a player thought enough of UT and the Tenn coaches to call him and tell him up-front like a man that he was signing somewhere else, and what does Lame do? He goes to the media and spills the beans to make himself look better as if it wasn’t his fault but Grandma’s fault? What a smart guy they have hired at UT. I’m sure Marlon is ‘thrilled’ that everybody in Tennessee is mad at him Grandma. Hope he catches a couple of 80-yarders next year in checkeredville.

UT Coach Lane Kiffin has retracted his comment about Marlon Brown’s Grandmother stopping her grandson from attending the University of Tennessee. Annonymous sources have said that Granny Brown said she would wip that arrogant white boy’s posterior. Apparently Coach Kiffin’s father stepped in and told his son that he would lose that fight. In a new statement, Coach Kiffin has said that the dog ate Marlon Brown’s scholarship.

In a related story, UGA VII has been admitted to the Small Animal Clinic at UGA’s School of Veterinary Medicine complaining of indegestion.

Corey - I too have lived in both cities. The best college town in the South East is Athens. The best college town in Tennessee is Chattanooga…..followed by Johnson City.

A giant rusting stadium doesn’t make a great town. You have limited nightlife and no music scene at all. The nice part of your town “Old City” actually reminds me a lot of Athens, but inexplicably your students stay away from it. I guess the “strip” and it’s cement nuance is a little more your speed.

And to boot, the Simpsons have never made an entire episode lauding how lame Athens is. The “Wigsphere” is one of the best episodes in the history of that show.

Careful what you say all vols. When UGA loses a few games it’s considered an awful year so saying that Kiffin will “own” Richt is a VERY bold statement. I don’t see it happening. Then it looks like UGA had an awful year. Losing Stafford, Moreno, and keeping Martinez doesn’t signal much hope for the next season. I don’t respect UGA at all. They let a sorry arse like Fulmer beat them 2 out of the past 3 years. That is mind numbingly awful. Take a note from a UT fan. Those beatings you took this year are a sign of the future. Saban is better than Richt. Meyer is better than Richt. Hell, Johnson is better than Richt. You people can blast Kiffin for the off the field stuff if you want, at least we got rid of our awful coach. How long will you hang on to yours? Kiffin talks a lot of smack for a guy who has never won a single game in the SEC. Say what you will about Mark Richt, he’s won more SEC titles than UT has in the last 10 years, has a winning record against the Vols, and has averaged over 10 wins a season during his entire tenure in Athens.

Doubt Kiffin will own Richt. Pretty certain he won’t, in fact. Pretty sure he won’t own anybody, except maybe Bobby Johnson. And that’s no certainty.

Mike T. that was hillarious. But what this demonstrates is two things-first,recruiting is about a lot of different things,like family,and you never know what an 18 year old kid is gonna do. You are so right, UGA started the year #1 and ended #10. We lsot 3 games. Our out of conference schedule was weak, we played at ASU and GT, and GSU

I’m sure LAME KITTEN will kick everyone around, and based on his history,defensve coordinator MONTY PYTHON, and Ole Miss genuis ED OREGANO’s history, you are sure to win at least 3 out of every 10. Whether or not your loss to Wyoming compares to the UGA loss to Alabama, Fla, or GT I don’t know. I’m sure they were on par with each other. The other thing that we did though, was kick your hillbilly tail again this year, and that is what you should worry about.

As far as the rest, good luck. Maybe you can have another great conference championship in Basketball this year, like last year. Oh yeah, I forgot we won that too!

All Vols, I have friends in Knoxville and I used to live in Tenn, and I did graduate from UGA. My friends in Knoxville would rather be in Athens.

Kiffin needs to stop talking and just win games, and he will be OK. However, at this point he looks like a clown.

Funny how this article didn’t mention that Kiffin has already locked up the top recruit in Tennessee for 2010 or that Joe Montana’s son (2010) visited two weeks ago. Bryce Brown is visiting this weekend and Orson Charles and David Oku each have Tennessee as one of their finalists for signing this year. Time will tell whether Kiffin will win much in the SEC, but it won’t be for lack of talent.

Talk big now Dawgs (like you do every year) because with your pitiful defense whoever plays QB for you this year better play like Tebow every week.

Hey has anyone seen Tennessee’s schedule for next year? It’s really pretty easy. They play Western Kentucky, UCLA, Ohio, Auburn, UGA, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt at home. They play Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Kentucky on the road. This Tennessee team has the possibility of going 8-4 or 9-3 this year. I think they’ll lose to Florida, and possibly to UGA at home early in the season( only because Richt is good on the road). But their home schedule is very winnable, and I think they have a real shot at upsetting Bama or Ole Miss this year. Mark my words, Tennessee will be an improved football team next year, and this is coming from a Dawg fan!

I posted a blog on here about two weeks ago saying that Lame Kiffin would be in knoxville only one year, if he made it through the year. Everything is falling into place and this guy really is a JERK! Just worry about your own team and stop looking at what everybody else is doing. This is exactly what Tenn. gets for hiring this guy and not Charlie Strong. He has already emabarassed the university since his hiring, the people in Pahokee Florida hates his guts so he may never get another recruit from that football factory, his players have targets on their back from Florida,South Carolina, Alabama, and now Georgia, and the numbers show that this guy has never won anything execpt for when he was a intern at USC. What are the administrators and alum thinking of the Kiffin hire now? They are already looking for a good reason to get rid of him.

I think Kiffin has put a fence around intelligence and no one is letting him in to play.

Obviously, this guy is overmatched intellectually. He is simply grandstanding for the UT Boosters who actually believe in him only because they paid dearly for him. Kiffin’s only saving grace is that he has a pretty good staff of crooks around him. Orgeron was fired from Miami b/c of his parties at local bars that got a bit out of hand. The USCe coach that went to Tennessee had a penchant for recruiting trouble and was already in hot water with Spurrier—OF ALLLLLLL people. Kiffin will be exposed like an adjustable rate mortgage starting in August. Sarkisian was the tie that binded @ Southern Cal, not Kiffen, so that will become apparent to UT fans around September.

It was over before Lane got hired! Rodney Garner had already gotten close to the key decision maker…Grand Ma! Why do you think UT came so hard after Garner? I said at the time it had something to do with Marlon Brown. It would have been a great hire period but it would have also probably helped them land Brown thus giving them momentum going into spring & into next season. I’m convinced that Lame Kitten must believe in the philosophy of “any publicity is good publicity” thus he doesn’t care how he just wants to keep UT in the news so kids will hear the name. What’s funny is watching all these little vol fans cry. To the Vol fan saying Richt does less with more, I guess a coach whose winning pct is currently one of the top 5 in the country makes him awful. Comments like that show why Vol fans are the most ignirant in the country. And to the Vol fan who talked about is choking. Let’s see, preseason #1, yet finished 10th with another 10 win season. Yeah, real choke job. A couple of years ago Tenn started the season #3 and how did they finish that year? Oh yeah, they had a losing season. That, hillbilly Vol fans, is a real example of a choke job. Mark my words, Kiffin can put all the fences around the state of Tenn he wants(not that he really did a good job of it considering we signed the state’s two top prospects), but the state of Tenn is a joke in hs football, so good luck building a program that way, Kiffin. If Marlon’s grandmother influenced him to go to UGA, she’s a pretty smart lady. UGA runs a pro style offense that will prepare him for the pros, if he’s good enough. We also have on hand a number of QB’s who are pretty good passers, so he’ll have someone who can get the ball to him. Seems like a pretty smart choice to me.

You are saying that UGA sucks, yet your team lost to Wyoming. Please tell everyone what QB you are going to have for the next two years? You have ZERO offense. You will have a good defense, but you already had that. Monte isn’t going to do much more with it.

UT fans are all pumped by this guy. What has he done to prove he can win? He got fired from Oakland and then they started winning.

He gets pumped up because he took the #3 receiver from UF. Nu’ Kees wouldn’t start at UF, but he will at UT. For that matter, he wouldn’t even start at UGA. That shows you how bad your offense is.

UT didn’t recruit any of their needs. You can put a fence around TN. There aren’t that many good players that come from TN, so it doesn’t matter. When you have GA and FL producing great talent year after year, no one needs TN.

It could be worse. At least Tenn. doesn’t play in the joke of a conference called the ACC.

ACC notables 8 straight bcs bowl game losses

4-6 bowl record including a loss to sec doormat Vandy by acc runnerup Boston College and a 38-3 demolition of Tech by an LSU team that only won 3 games in the sec.

6-6 record against the sec including 3 blowout losses 38-3 Lsu over Tech, 34-10 Bama over Clemson, and 49-14 Fla. over FSU.

39-59 record against the sec over the last 10 years. The sec statistically owns the acc.

BCS championships ACC ZERO SEC 4

Attendance. Acc has problems filling up high school stadiums like Ga. Tech while the sec has 4 of the 7 largest stadiums in the country.

Glad to see Kiffin is already making excuses for why he didn’t land his most highly coveted recruit. Wonder what his excuse will be when he gets rudely welcomed to the SEC this year? And to all the dumb Vol fans who think everyone is scared of Tenn now, here’s what everyone else is really thinking about Ole Cocky Flop. Kiffin is in way over his head and he knows it. He still thinks he is at USC where you pretty much can land every recruit you want because they are far and away the top program in the region. Not so here. The competition here for recruits is fierce. He not only has to compete with the other SEC schools, bit there are also several rising ACC programs he has to compete with. The thing is Kiffin realizes this and he is fact is the one who is scared, not Tennesse’s opponents.

In the eyes of most UGA fans (and ‘Bama, UF, South Carolina), this Kiffen guy already looks like a fool. I try to put myself in “their” shoes and imagine being a UT fan/alum….and he STILL looks like a fool—maybe a even a little bit bigger one from that angle! I think UT is going to regret hiring this guy. There is such a thing as class that still matters to most supporters of college football. True: most of the Large Orange Nation understandably wanted Fulmer gone; however he did have his qualities. He pretty much ran a tight ship, he didn’t embarrass his alma mater with stupid remarks, and he won his share of games; not to mention a N.C. a decade ago. My money’s on the table that ‘98 is the last N.C. UT will see for quite some time. First they will have to crash with this idiot and then start all over searching for the coach they should have hired instead of him. Mike Hamilton had better not put down too many roots in East Tennessee.

Wow. I am a Bama fan, but UGA is my favorite team from the east. Kiffin has stirred the pot, I give him that. But I have never seen such blind loyalty to a coach that has never coached a game. If his coments about Brown are true I would suggest he keep them to himself and not admit he can’t catch the old girls eye. Recruiting 101 is determine the key and sell that person. He has lots to learn. Bullseye on TN from every other SEC school. Bigger problem is there is not enough talent in TN without going out of state, one recruiter disrepecting TN is one thing, but when it is the entire conference - may be tough to get those out of state boys like Big Phil built his teams around.

I heard that Ed Orgeron was at a basketball game drunk with an UT cheerleader and got into a shouting match with Marlon. His grandmother was sitting right next to him but Ed didn’t know who she was. I have a friend that is a menber of the Vol. Navy that said if it wasn’t for the buy out clause in Coach Orgeron contract that Coach Kiffen was going to fire him. It was also witnessed by several other recruits who acted very embrassed about the outburst.
