Notre Dame may offer Northview junior DT McCoy
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The scholarship offer is in the mail.
That’s the word from Northview junior defensive tackle Denzel McCoy, who picked up his 24th overall offer on Thursday when Notre Dame offered via telephone.
“It’s very exciting,” said McCoy, who attended Junior Day at Florida State on Saturday. “Notre Dame is a very prestigious program.
“They have a great football team and coaching staff. And they offer a very good education.”
Georgia Tech is among the schools that have offered the 6-foot-4, 272-pound McCoy. He’s being recruited by Jackets coach Buzz Preston.
He’s still waiting to see if Georgia will offer.
“I’m hearing from Georgia,” he said. “[Recruiting coordinator] coach [Rodney] Garner and [offensive line] coach [Stacy] Searels come by the school.
“I just haven’t been offered by them yet.”
McCoy plans to allow other offers to arrive before he settles on a list of colleges to consider.
“I’m trying to nail things down because things are starting to get rolling,” he said. “I want to be sure it’s the right school for me and that I’m not making any mistakes.”

Denzel, do not kid yourself. Notre Dame has not been a prestigious program since before your were born. South Bend is a pit, and Charlie Weis is on borrowed time.

Joe, Your advice to Denzel should be kept to yourself. You obviously have never played the game or went to college.

Joe, you’re an idiot. You’ve obviously never been to South Bend, IN. It’s one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. And yes, it’s still a prestigious program. All those Heisman winners and National Championships don’t go away with a few down years. They’ll be back. If he doesn’t go to ND I hope he chooses the gold helmets from Atlanta. GO JACKETS!!!

JacketSteve I know this is a little late but you are an idiot. Yes ND is a great campus but South Bend and its surroundings are the pits.Plus we all know that the winters are really nice—-a lot of nice warm SNOW and very nice temperatures.Denzel- stay in the South.

What few people realize is that Notre Dame actually plays every game on a national stage. It was just a few years ago the went to 2 BCS games. The school still has a LOT to offer recruits more than there past. If I was a D lineman , looking at Notre Dame’s roster would actually make me consider.. I could walk right in and probably start. I’m not a Notre Dame fan but they are always on TV you cant help but to notice. I also notice how their players speak on a considerably higher level than other schools player during pre and post game. Good Luck on what school you choose. Please look at academics, playing time, people and how well will you be prepared for the world if you dont make pro or sustain an injury.

Joe… ND has a beautiful campus. You could not say that if you ever took that campus trip. By the way Notre Dame is not in South Bend, IN. It is in Notre Dame, IN. If you ever received mail from them you would know.
