The AJC should probably shut all of these blogs down.I can’t beleive the venom spewed out here.It’s very enjoyable. I went over to a UGA blog the other day just to see what is going on there.It was very civilized,not like thi crap going on here.I also noticed there were very few Techies on there and they were realitively calm and complementary of UGAs recruiting success.I’m getting sick of this mess.Let’s keep it clean and about sports so we can all enjoy it.

Not the result of penalty - we have a very young team. You can only have a maximum 85 enrolled on scholarship at any time which is what is driving the low number next year. Unlike some programs, our kids are acdemically qualified before they can sign. As a result, they show up and stay in school.

Pretty funny you have a tool on here who’s trying to tell someone how “uncool” they are for blogging at the “uncool times” on the same exact site.

Fyi, that’s the same thing as making fun of SEEING someone out at a lame club. You had to be there yourself in order to see them in the first place. Since Techies are notorious for their hypocrisies, it’s a pretty safe bet to guess who’s who.

The 12-15 limit means nothing. Its just that there will be only about 12-15 roster/scholarship spots open next year due to low amount of Seniors. The year after that Tech will probably be able to sign 25-28 due to high amount of seniors.

Quality of recruits next year will be important. Tech can’t afford to have a half dozen unknowns or lowly rated players.

As far as UGA outrecruiting Tech, yep, they have, they did and they will, most likely. Funny though, Tech plays UGA great 4 out of every 5 games (with an intermmittent blowout spread around), even though Tech averages maybe a top 40 recruiting class and UGA a top 10.

So, Tech makes the most of limited resources and UGA squanders abundant resources every year. That is sad. UGA is the least successful of all the annual great recruiting teams. LSU, Florida, USC (and Alabama back again) all have more success. Heck, Miami and FSU have more success with less heralded classes.

UGA won the recruiting battle. Its pretty sad when thats all you have to cheer about and guess what, the future indicates it will remain that way for UGA fans. Tech has moved on from barely competitive to UGA’s equal and perhaps with a head coach that twice as good, Tech might have surpassed UGA. Coach Richt can recruit, but he doesn’t coach up to the level of his talent.

Also, it takes a very different player on offense to fit the Flexbone. Many are NOT highly rated by the scouting systems, but thats fine as those systems are biased towards pro-style and spread offense. I am not at all worried about the offensive recruits. CPJ knows what he needs and he can get the best recruits he has ever had now that he is at Tech. The offensive lineman must be quick and powerful with good leverage. Don’t get worked up if they all are sub 300 lbs. They’ll likely stay that way because a quick 280 lb lineman will work much better in the option/flexbone than a fat, obese, soft 350 lb lineman would.

I do worry about the defensive side on recruiting. Tech plays a traditional defense and we should hope to see recruits that are highly rated there. This is not specialized like the offense, so while non-rated or lower rated offensive players are no big deal, low rated defenders could be worrisome.

All in all, Tech did well. I would have liked to have seen a kicker recruited as our kicking/punting game was putrid, but I respect coaches that don’t use scholarships on them. I think that might bite Tech each year though in a tight game (wide right FSU anyone)?

Go Jackets! Coach em up CPJ and continue the Tech over-achieving while CMR shows us all how to take superior talent and produce inferior results well below pre-season expectations each year. Poor dawgie fans. The annual letdown is scheduled for the fall, again. So sad.

You’re a typical jealous, envious Jacket fan that’s desperately trying to convince yourself of a reality that you know doesn’t exist.

The 12-15 limit does in fact means something. It’s the residual effects from one of the worst ACC scandals in history. Get your facts straight before you try and lie on here. There will always be more knowledgeable, and honest fans on here than you.

“Barely competitive to UGA’s equal?” You’re now trying to pretend that UGA beating Tech 51-7 is the status quo? The games have usually been competitive, with UGA winning. A win by 1 point or 44 points is still a win. UGA leads by 23 games, a margin you’d be willing to give up your Star Trek insiders pass for. Along with your dad’s stolen stash of Playboys.

“UGA squanders abundant resources every year?” Richt has six 10+ winning seasons in his first eight years as the Dawgs head coach. A feat Johnson will never match. Heck, Johnson won’t ever even have one 10+ winning season before he’s forced out by Tech.

On top of that, Johnson doesn’t have a classy bone in his body. His God complex will be the end of him. If Richt was playing in a bowl game that was over 5 minutes into the first quarter, he would have most definitely played his loyal seniors that never touched the field in their last game of their careers. Johnson’s ego was so bruised that he refused to make such a gesture and showed the country just how much of a scumbag he truly is.

UGA is competitive in what is obviously the most dominate conference in all of college football. A conference that has been the most dominate since the conferences realigned way back in 1992. While the ACC has proven to be one of the weaker conferences, and Tech can’t even compete on a regular basis against such inferior talent.

Spin it all you want. Try and hide your pain and disgust that UGA traded in a Hill and got a Marlon Brown. You will always remain second fiddle in the State of Georgia. I’d go as far as saying even third once State gets up and running.

But please, continue to lie and spin on these blogs. We UGA fans and grads love seeing how much we get under your skin and how much pain your inferiority complex causes you.

Okay, when was the last time UGA football team met or exceeded expectations? 1980? Yeesh.

Underachievers. They can recruit like a top 5 team every year, and can’t manage to win the critical games. They are solidly outcoached by the best teams and even manage to bungle against mediocre teams (like Vandy and UK). Sad.

Tech usually alternates exceeding expectations versus falling well below pre-season hope. UGA never exceeds and that makes us Tech fans grin. So UGA fans are sadly relegated to posting on Tech news arcticles as there is so little to hope for.

Herschel Walker is nearing AARP status and you guys haven’t sniffed a national championship since he was popping zits. Thats truly sad for such braggarts. Before you beat down Tech fans with an OBVIOUS up-and-coming program, you might want to review what you really have to brag about? Beating a Tech team with Top 40 recruits by a few points every year, save for an occasional blowout? Hah, thats funny.

You need to admit the days of figuring Tech to be a walkover is long gone and really it has been for years, even with Chan Gailey piloting the Reggie Ball ship of mediocrity. Your girls on the gridiron managed to squeak by an inferior team. Thats something to be proud of, really it is. Now get ready for future blowouts by Tech. UGA offensive gameplan, running when they should be passing and passing when they were running it all over the place, doesn’t work. Richt is clueless. If something is working you don’t get fancy. Richt actually outcoaches himself and thats impressive. CPJ doesn’t need to do anything special to beat UGA and he won’t. He’ll run it till you stop it and UGA even with 4 and 5 star recruits and criminals littering the field, can’t stop anyone half good, judging by the past 10 years.

We are loving the present and future at Tech, while you UGA r-tards are sweating it. You can’t win the SEC, this much you know, so your only hope is winning the state and now that is slipping away. I feel sorry for you guys and girls. Its got to feel horrible, but at least your tennis and gymnastics teams are very good every year. Thank goodness for women’s sports, eh?

Why are you desperately reaching Michael? Why are you so hard up to convince yourself of something that you know isn’t remotely close to true?

“The last time UGA football team met or exceeded expectations?? Easy, 2002 when they won the SEC and the Sugar. Or when we won the SEC with Shockley a few years later. Both championships have occured more recently than any championship Tech has won.

It’s funny that when Tech fans talk about UGA now, we all of a sudden had the best defense the world has ever seen last year, and we are also the top recruiting class in the nation.

What expections does Tech ever have to deal with? When’s the last time they were even ranked in a preseason poll? It’s easy to say you “exceed expections” when they are usually starting out in the cellar. I don’t think I would care to brag about that.

I promise you Tech fans don’t grin half as much as UGA fans do at the pathetic “well we won the 1990 National Championship” argument, when anybody that knows even a fraction about college football realizes Colorado was easily the best in the nation that year and Tech played a high school schedule.

When’s the last time Tech won a title they didn’t have to share with a better team?

You miss the point. UGA fans don’t have to “brag” when we belittle Tech. We simply state the facts. That being we own the series by 23 games.

You show your ignorance and true lack of football knowledge. The past 10 years? UGA has had defenses Tech would kill for at points over the past 10 years. Tech could barely beat the worst defense UGA has had in decades this past season. Doesn’t bode well for Tech next season since they lost their 3 best studs they’ve had at one time on defense in….ever?? Where will the rapist that Johnson recruited and kept on the roster be lining up next year?

Sad a Tech fan has to make a comment about the SEC, when they got humiliated by 35 to a 5 loss SEC team in their own backyard. The same team that UGA easily beat. Why can’t Tech even compete in the worst BCS conference in football? UGA has won two SEC titles in the best conference in football since the last time Tech “tied” for the ACC, if they’ve even done that since ‘92.
