UGA’s Rodney Garner makes public apology to his wife

From the AJC’s Mark Bradley

If nothing else, though, Signing Day 2009 enabled [Georgia’s Rodney Garner] famous recruiter to apologize publicly to Mrs. Rodney Garner.

It was a year ago that her husband sat before the assembled media and said, of rating prospects: “It’s kind of like when you look at your wife, and you think, ‘If I’d have held out, maybe I could have gotten that one there.’ “

“For 365 days I’ve been in the doghouse,” Garner said on Wednesday. “I might still be in the doghouse.”

Let that be a lesson to us all: Even a famous recruiter sometimes needs help with his sales pitch.

Note: You won’t believe it until you see it, click here to see YouTube video of Garner’s now-famous remarks (and look at Mark Richt’s reaction).

Your mother must be very proud of you. Too bad you can hide behind that computer.

I can’t believe he actually said that. You’re right, Mr. Garner. As a female, I can honestly say your wife will NEVER forget you said that . She may not show outward signs of being upset, angry, or dissapointed in you though. Rest assured, it’s in the back of her mind somewhere forever.

CRG pulled in a top 10 recruiting class with maybe a couple more to come and GT’s class is where? 49 on Rivals and 32 on Scout. Tech pulled in a whopping 4 four star recruits while UGA landed 10 plus 3 five stars according to Scout…I’m not even going to get into the dismal numbers that Rivals gave your recruits…however, I’ll give you a sneak peek…1 four star for GT, kudos to your recruiting coordinator!
