Chase Vasser, of Chestatee High, signed with Georgia today to play linebacker. Here’s a little bit more about this new Bulldog in the recruiting Class of 2009. Welcome him to Bulldog Nation with congratulations below in our “Comments” area.
Why he likes UGA: “Coach John Jancek is straightforward and honest. I like how he doesn’t beat around the bush. He teaches his linebackers to be the meanest people on the field. I want to have the top-ranked defense in the country all four or five years I’m at Georgia. And I want to win a national championship.”

Chase is one of my favorite recruits from this class because of the way he moves his feet and the pursuit angles he takes. He’s very patient, and once he sees the opportunity he flies in to the ballcarrier. After a couple of years of development look for him to be a stud.

Could wind up at DE or Olb. He has tremendous head skills and insticts. Probably one of the better athletes in this class.

J.J. (John Jancek) is the real deal. I played college football with him, and I know he “practices what he preaches.” He is a disciple of Brian VanGorder, our former coach. If Chase listens to Jancek, the sky is the limit.
