Tar Heels defense gets stronger

North Carolina improved its defensive backfield, signing four more defensive backs, adding to the three others it signed earlier in the day, according to the Tar Heels web site. Terry Shankle, a 5-10, 167-pounder from South Stanly High School, is a Rivals.com four-star recruit and could play right away.

Also signing with North Carolina (84th in pass defense) were Armwood High School (FL) teammates Angelo Hadley and Mywan Jackson and Whitehaven (TN) High School’s Gene Robinson.
