The race for the Southeastern Conference’s top signing class could also be the battle for the nation’s top group of recruits.
Alabama and LSU are making headway as the two best recruiting schools this season. The Tigers appear to be enjoying the fruits of success from their 2007 BCS National title with four five-star recruits according to Rivals.com.
Leading the class for LSU are defensive tackle Chris Davenport, defensive backs Janzen Jackson and Craig Loston as well as quarterback Russell Shepard. Les Miles has also nabbed 10 four-star recruits, including Drayton Calhoun of Tucker and Kevin Minter of Peachtree Ridge.
For Alabama head coach Nick Saban to pull off another top-ranked signing class, the Crimson Tide will need to make a late push today with several players including Atlanta-Carver’s own Darren Myles Jr. and Gadsden (Ala.) wide receiver Kendall Kelly. Alabama already has three five-star prospects and nine four-star players.

We vote to determine the top recruiting class. We vote to determine the the championship game participants. How much longer before we are letting “Journalists” vote to decide who wins the games.
