What Auburn coach Gene Chizik doesn’t get in quality, he may find in quantity.
The Tigers expect to have 25 commitments today and could add a few more because of a late recruiting push. Highlights include four-star quarterback Tyrik Rollison of Sulphur Springs, Tex., and Lassiter tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen, who has remained with Auburn throughout the turmoil of the coaching change.
Chizik hired ace recruiter Trooper Taylor from Oklahoma State, and results have been quick. Auburn may have stolen four-star offensive lineman Aubrey Phillips of Olive Branch, Miss., away from Tennessee. Phillips has said publicly his commitment status with the Vols is likely to change.
Auburn is also keying in on Vols commitment David Oku. Taylor was a former member of the Vols coaching staff prior to his stint with the Cowboys.
