QB Cross first to sign with Wake

Chattahoochee quarterback Brendan Cross was the first of 23 prospects to sign with Wake Forest, according to the Demon Deacons web site. The 6-2, 189-pounder, ranked as the 35th-best pro-style quarterback by Rivals.com, can’t wait to get to Winston-Salem.

“I’m so happy and excited to finally, officially be a Demon Deacon,” Cross said in a text message. “It’s a huge relief to have the whole process done with; now I can focus on just Wake Forest.”

Cross is the son of former San Francisco 49er Randy Cross.
