Ole Miss lands top in-state talent in WR Patterson

Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt won’t be relying on Ed Orgeron’s talent for long. The Rebels landed the home state’s top talent in wide receiver Patrick Patterson.

Patterson, a 6-foot-4, 215 pounder, was also considering Alabama, Tennessee, Southern Mississippi, Mississippi State and Auburn. He signed with Ole Miss on Wednesday morning.

Vols coach Lane Kiffin and Bama coach Nick Saban had made home visits in recent weeks, but those pitches weren’t enough. Patterson is rated the No. 4 wideout prospect by Rivals.com and No. 50 prospect overall.

We in the Rebel Nation believe our beloved coach, Houston Dale Nutt, signed a class that will keep our program on a rocket ship toward the SEC championship.
