Moss inks deal with North Carolina

North Carolina signed its top prize as part of a big recruiting haul early Wednesday, according to the North Carolina athletic Web site. Northside High School (NC) defensive end Donte Moss, one of the most coveted defensive players in the nation, signed a letter of intent with the Tar Heels and has a good shot at playing right away for a defense that was 64th in the nation in total defense (365 yards per game).

The Tar Heels also improved their offense, signing West Springfield (VA) quarterback Bryn Renner, a 6-3, 192-pounder.
