Lassiter’s Wentz soured on admission process at Stanford

Lassiter offensive lineman Camden Wentz had originally committed to Stanford, but he found a home at North Carolina State after having difficulty with the office of admissions.

“I kept waiting and kept waiting for my acceptance letter, and finally, I just decided to open it back up,” said Wentz, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound center. “Coach Tom O’Brien has turned the N.C. State program around, and every year we will have a chance to play for the ACC title.”

Seven players from Georgia — Morgan Alexander (Cartersville), Duran Christophe (Woodstock), Dean Haynes (NW Whitfield), Deion Robinson (Tucker), Rashard Smith (Dublin) and Chris Ward (Starr’s Mill) — joined Wentz in signing with the Wolfpack.
