Georgia Tech DB Richardson discovered by Jackets in Shrine Bowl
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Georgia Tech Giff Smith admitted on Wednesday that the Jackets first became interested in Lance Richardson, a defensive back for Ware Shoals (S.C.), following the Shrine Bowl played in Spartanburg, S.C. on Dec. 20.
Richardson signed a letter of intent with Tech on Wednesday.
“Lance Richardson’s situation is a lot like [Tech junior linebacker] Sedric Griffin’s,” Smith said. “He’s a kid, when he went to the all-star game, we got a call on and everybody raved about him. It’s just the same with Sedric when he came out. He was at the Shrine Bowl and they called.
“It was the same thing with Lance. We heard about it. Coach [Brian] Jean-Mary was recruiting in South Carolina, he drove over there and saw him, liked him, brought the tape back to coach, and it took off from there.
“Sometimes you get lucky at the end.”

Lance,
Don’t pay any attention to the fact that the 121 Yech fans in the world aren’t on here today giving you props and congrats. They’re still enraged that UGA landed the SECOND BEST WIDE RECEIVER IN THE NATION and really thought they had pulled one over on the Dawgs with Hill. Only to find out that classy coach (something Yech doesn’t have) Mark Richt had called Hill the night before to let him know the real recruit was coming to Athens and his commitment was no longer being held to honor. He was free to go where ever he wanted to so he could block all day long. LOL!!!!

One win every 8 years doesn’t mean you own anything. Neither does being down 23 games head-to-head against the same team.
You guys really are desperate, aren’t ya?
Why couldn’t you get crap for recruits after your HUGE 3 point victory? Just curious

Nice to see the “RealityYech” guy didn’t let us Tech fans down …..
He or she is #1 again.
Yeah, he or she is not worried about the Jackets, and the win on 11/29/08 isn’t affecting him or her in any way.
Believe that, and maybe you’d like to buy my beach-front condo in Nashville, TN!
Now, Mr. or Mrs. “RealityYech” I’m waiting for you to respond with some sort of 38-3, 5-loss mediocre SEC team, everyone’s figured out that high school offense, Tech’s recruits suck - GA would never consider having any of them, etc., etc.
Hurry now, don’t let me, and my fellow Tech fans down by NOT responding. You know you can do it; just hit the “post” button. Come on, we’re waiting…….

Hmm….I think it’s pretty safe to say UGA didn’t want any of Tech’s players since UGA’s class is ranked 8th and Tech’s is ranked a very generous 49th.
Better question, are you actually going to tell us you don’t want UGA’s guy? What a laugh

It is obvious that RealtyYech is the typical unemployed UGA fan w/ nothing better to do than continually post on these blogs. Please contact your local fastfood restaurant and help this guy out. He must have talent enough to push a broom?

I love how our 45-42 victory has put the ugagers into such a panic. It’s obvious in the fact they are forced to come on Tech blogs and try to “get back at us”. What a joke reality yech is. No check that,….what a loser.

Wow, you got us. First win in 8 years and it was only by 3. Still down by 23 games in the series and you got exposed by a healthy defense that already had suffered 5 losses in their conference. Our knees are shaking….
