Lance Richardson, of Ware Shoals High (S.C.), signed with Georgia Tech today to play safety. Here’s a little bit more about this new Jacket in the recruiting Class of 2009. Welcome him to The Flats with congratulations below in our “Comments” area.
Why he likes Tech: “I always told my mom I wanted to play big-time college football. And Georgia Tech is close enough to home that my family will able to watch me play. Coming from a small town, I’ve always wanted something bigger. And Atlanta is a city where I can get out and enjoy myself. I like the facilities, the campus and just the school itself. I’d like to try to pursue a career in the NFL, but it that doesn’t pan out I’ll pursue a career in physical therapy. I’d love to set some records while I’m at Georgia Tech.”

Welcome to Tech. Nice to know a class act like yourself was not overlooked. Good luck with your college career and anything you accomplish past it. Just make sure you learn what the good word is!

We are proud you chose GT! Whether you make it to the NFL or not, a degree from GT will be the groundwork for a bright future. Listen to what your coaches have to say, and you will be fine. P.S. Don’t pay attention to the moronic UGA fans sure to post negative things about the program on these blogs. Think of their idiotic comments as a way to help stay motivated for the rivalry.
