Stone Mountain linebacker Robert Nelson committed to Tennessee on Tuesday.
“The coaches told me I am going to be a part of a new program at Tennessee, and I may have the opportunity to play in the NFL,” he said.
The 6-foot, 210-pound senior said Auburn wanted him to take an official visit to The Plains if things did not pan out with Tennessee.
“They even told me I could commit after Signing Day, but everything seemed to work out with Tennessee,” he said.
Nelson finished with 383 tackles and 24 sacks. He has a 3.4 grade-point average. Rivals.com ranks him as the 35th best inside linebacker in the country.

Uh, yes, they are playing the NFL card. There are several former Vols in the NFL and not to mention that their new head coach has NFL experience and his dad was one of the greatest defensive coordinators in NFL history. I think he has an idea of what the NFL is looking for and knows how to get a kid ready for it. Also, several other Vols coaches were in the NFL last year such as Ed Orgeron. The Vols OC is the same guy that coached Drew Brees at Purdue and he was in the NFL last year too.

Hey Robert, the Vols are only in the Top 3 in producing NFL talent over the past 15 years. Maybe you should stick to girls volleyball, because football knowledge is obviously not your strongest suit.
