Stephen Hill says lack of UGA visit won’t affect his decision

Would Miller Grove wide receiver Stephen Hill sign with Georgia on Wednesday without ever taking an official visit to Athens?
“Yes, that would not stand in my way,” Hill told the AJC on Tuesday evening. “I’ve got a pretty good idea what Georgia is all about … I went to some games [this past season] and have talked a lot to the coaches.”
The 6-foot-5. Hill made it clear that he is undecided between Georgia Tech and Georgia. However, Hill said if he did sign with Georgia, he would make an official visit after signing day, perhaps as early as Friday or next weekend.
Hill favored Georgia early in the recruiting process, but the Bulldogs had not offered when he switched his commitment from Central Florida to Georgia Tech in early November. Georgia Tech other commitments vowed to keep Stephen Hill from UGA on Tuesday night.
Georgia finally did offer an official visit and scholarship last week, but Hill turned down the Bulldogs on both, sticking with Georgia Tech. However, Hill had second thoughts over the weekend, and contacted UGA recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner on Monday.

If it were me I would be offended that Ga only offerred at the last minute & only after all the others they really wanted had rejected them. But I guess some people have no pride.

Then 8 you would be a fool. You would have a chance to play in the best conference for an offense that would prepare you for the nfl and you would be able to play on a team where aj green is getting most of the attention. Look at what it did for momass this past year? Whether it’s day 1 or day 200 an offer is an offer. It’s not like uga just starting recruiting. They kept in touch and recruiting stephen, but just didn’t offer.. i guess stephen wasn’t made that gt didn’t offer him unitl AFTER he was committed to ucf. That didn’t seem to bother him a few months ago. (BTW that is considered late in the recruiting process as well)

Recruitnik,
Maybe Stephen needs to go back and read some of these blogs from last week after he said he was going to stick with his commitment to GA Tech and see how UGA fans really turn on players.
Nope, if he signs with UGA, the first time Stephen screws up, you guys would turn on him again, just like before, because to all of you, he’s a redheaded step-child. He’s not the guy you wanted; he’s the guy you settled for.

Believe what you want but there is a reason UGA waited to the last minute to offer. If they really wanted Hill from the start they would have offered early on. Maybe he made the right decision and maybe he didn’t only time will tell.

Stephen should realize that a last minute offer by uga should show him where he is in the pecking order in terms of ever getting a chance to play.
So he sits on the pine, then in 2010 when the next recruiting class is signed, there will be all of the heralded players who will then walk in and be the stars.
Then in 4 years people will be saying “What happened to Stephen Hill?” Just like they did with Jamar Bryant, a receiver out of Fla with 4.5 speed and the second highest rated receiver out of Fla in that class of 2005 (per AJC Feb 3, 2005)
Stephen come to Ga Tech where you can be a star, get the best education in the state, and actually get to play and show your talents instead of watching others.

You toolbag j******* still don’t get it, do you? LOL!!! 90% of your “recruits” SETTLE for Yech. Yech is never at the top of any kids dream school to attend. Your program is in the crapper, your coach is an idiot that is running more kids into the SEC than Gailey did, and you’re the only program in the country that’s playing a rapist next year. LOL!!! Hey, at least you got those Cracker Jack rings!!!
