Will Georgia Tech target Aycock opt for Auburn?

For the past three weeks, it seemed that Dontae Aycock of Chamberlain High in Tampa, Fla. was a lock to commit to Georgia Tech on national signing day.

But the Auburn Tigers may have thrown a wrench into those plans.

Following a weekend visit to the Plains, Auburn has emerged as a serious contender to snag Aycock’s signature on a letter of intent on Wednesday.

“I like the coaches there,” Aycock told AuburnSports.com. “I like the school, the environment around it. I felt like I fit in with the players.

“I got a general idea of what I’d be doing in the offense if I did decide to go there. I just like everything about [Auburn].”

Aycock, who has maintained for weeks that he’ll formally announce his commitment on signing day, is being recruited as a quarterback by the Jackets. He’s projected to play running back if he signs with the Tigers.

“Auburn is up there,” he told AuburnSports.com. “It’s really down to Auburn and Georgia Tech. I just need to decide if I want to play quarterback or if I want to play running back.”

RealityYech you are so right. GT’s class does not compare to the top ten class at UGAly. If the seven UGAly recruits who have not qualified can get qualified and the other fourteen are out of jail by the time school starts it will be another great year for UGAly. They should have a solid seven win season. Did I mention that all twenty-three Tech recruits are already qualified and none have had or are pending any hard time.

I’m not worried at all. Gene Chizik is a national joke who couldn’t get it done at Iowa St in a very weak Big 12 North. Tech will be a top 15 team to start 2009, Auburn will hope to reach a bowl at all. Chizik won’t even be around when Aycock finishes up. And the AU fans constantly saying War Eagle is one of the most ridiculous things that I can think of. It’s just ridiculous.

You dumbarses are too ignorant to catch the sarcasm on here. You losers have been talking about Tech like they’re now world beaters and the greatest thing since sliced bread. So we all just ASSUMED you’d easily get the top recruiting class since everyone and their mothers would want to play with on this AWESOME system. But clearly that’s not the case since you’re not even in the top 25.

According to you douches you should be heads and shoulders above everyone else. But as usual, anything but the truth

Joe Cox will be the Heisman winner this year, just you wait. Tim TeBLOW has nothing on Cox. I love watching the bees get upset. The GAYtors are next. We’re going to beat UF now. UF is going to loss everyone to the NFL so we’re going to win now. Don’t forget, we the best they ever was. If he’s marginal between quarterback and running back - then there’s NO WAY he’d make it in the pros as a QB. So, he should opt to get his running back training now and go to Auburn.

If he goes to Tech, he might have a nice career in college - then he’d be off to flip burgers.

Why us Tech even competing for recruits with AU? Most guys would rather play qb than rb but he is considering a school coached by a guy with 5 college wins over a guy who consistently wins. Johnson obviously can coach but it seems he has a problem with recruiting high profile athletes. His offense won’t surprise people in year 2 so he’s gonna need some athletes to consistently compete at this level. Unfortunately Tech fans seem content to beat its’ biggest rival every once in a while instead of competing for championships! 45-42= one win in 8 years.

There’s 90% more that he’s yet to show us. Remember, he’s going to be averaging 3,000 yards of offense per game, plus he’s going to have one of the most prolific air attacks the world has ever seen. LOL!!! I can’t even keep a straight face typing this nonsense!!!

By GA Tech Insider

It’s high time you people take the high road on these blogs. Most of you act like children.

Dontae is a fine young man and has every right to choose the place that he thinks he feels he will be most comfortable for the next 4 - 5 years of his life.

Regarding the earlier blog that mentioned a “silent” commitment to GA Tech, this is precisely one of the scenarios that was discussed on the earlier blog which stated that neither Dontae, nor anyone from GA Tech, had stated that he had pledged to GA Tech so those comments by the AJC were to be taken with a grain of salt.

Again, selfishly, I hope that Dontae chooses to come to GA Tech because he’s a stellar young man and I believe he’ll fit in well with the program as a scholar athlete, but if he chooses to play for Auburn instead, I will wish Dontae the very best because he’s worked very hard to get to this point and he deserves it.

To those of you who choose to play these childish one-ups-man-ship games on these blogs I would say, it’s time to grow up and start acting like adults.

All of this name calling and baiting is not becoming of your schools and their traditions that each of you supposedly claim to be supporting. It’s one thing to be a proud booster and to be behind your team; it’s something totally different to act like a 4-year-old spoiled brat that needs to go to time out.

An honest debate is one thing. It can be done in an honorable, intelligent, adult manner that people can disagree without being disagreeable. What most of you people are doing is nothing more than a waste of everyone else’s time having to scroll through your drivel to find the few decent posts that are worth reading, regardless of the teams being supported.

Those of you masochists who like to berate each other need to take your pettiness to another forum and leave the rest of us alone. These blogs are for real sports fans.

The sad thing is that even with our “inferior” talent, we can still walk into your house with our first year coach, who hasnt gotten his players in, still missing scholarships, and with a banged up QB and still walk away with the win.

How many top 5 or top 10 recruiting classes has UGAY had in the last 10 years? The answer is a lot more times than they have ended the year ranked in the top 10 or top 5. What does that tell you? UGAY places more emphasis on recruiting than coaching and playing the game. Finish as high as you recruit and then you have something to brag about.

Chuck, not being rude….just informative. The QB in the TO is actually a QB. He may run, but only when that’s the best read available.

Concerning PJ’s statement; the blocking of the o-line was/is not sufficient enought yet for the passing attack to be effective. That is why they spent the lesser timeframe on it. He wanted to implement the blocking scheme for running plays and the option first. This is the better plan, because the running game always provides easier opportunities for play-action and go routes.

You made a very wise decision young man. Look at how empty and pathetic the lives of the Yech fan base are from these blogs alone. It’s an engineering school but 90% of their students sandbag it and jump on the M-train since they can’t hack it.

Johnson is a scumbag and has zero loyality towards his players. Ask Booker about his playing time in the Chick-fil-a Bowl after the game was over 5 minutes into the first quarter. He rather play rapists than guys that were foolish enough to buy into his now debuked system.

Fortunately for most of the males on Yech campus, they don’t like girls. But since you’re normal and do, you wouldn’t enjoy the 7-1 male to female ratio at Yech. Plus 70% of their girls are hairy Arabs.

Wise decision Mr. Aycock. I love seeing the toolbags take it in the eye!!! BAWHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
