Ridgeland WR Michael Bowman says he’s Bama-bound
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Ridgeland wide receiver Michael Bowman, a self-described “lifelong Georgia fan” who is committed to Alabama, told the AJC on Saturday that he has not been contacted by UGA in recent weeks.
Georgia was turned down by two wide receivers from the state last week. Georgia has not offered Bowman, but he said if they did before signing day, that he’s sticking with Alabama.
“Georgia had called and wanted film, and we didn’t send it to them,” Bowman said. “I have nothing bad to say about Georgia … I’m just going to Bama.”
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Bowman has maintained a low profile in football recruiting circles since committing to Alabama in early September. He decided on the Crimson Tide over waiting for an offer from UGA, while also considering scholarships from LSU and Oregon.
Last week, Georgia was turned down by Cameron Kenney of Dacula (committed to Oklahoma) and Miller Grove’s Stephen Hill (Georgia Tech).

There’s an opinion held locally that he is much faster than his older brother Adarius..If he muscles up like Adarius, he will be one heck of a physical specimen…I think they have a younger Bowman brother coming up along with Bowman cousins. He has no competition in extreme northwest Georgia. He has run free on the football field with nobody being able to compete with him…If he learns and adapts at Bama, he has all the tools..

If he wants to lower himself to play for an unethical coach/school, Satan Sabin, and a school who was caught cheating and cried and whimpered and accused UT’s Fulmer of “turning them in”, then go for it!

LOL at Bammer Bummer. “Satan” wasn’t even around when the Fulmer mess went down. That is OLD NEWS. Move on and quit being a sore loser. UGA dropped the ball on Bowman while waiting on other kids they preferred. NOT his fault and not “Bammers” fault. I would bet my savings you are an Aub.

Bowman is a very good Football player… But not high on Georgia’s list for what ever reason. Best of Luck to Mike and Georgia… The AJC is beating a dead horse to death.

he didn’t get an offer from uga because he has not passed his entrance exam. richt told him to get qualified and an offer would be there for him. rather than taking care of his grades he runs to the “roll over and play dead” tide. satan will find a way to get him in school no matter what it cost. I get the impression this kid is lazy and doesn’t want to work to get done what needs to get done to get in school. uga doesn’t need players like that. if he want work hard to get qualified uga doesn’t need him. he will be a bench player for four years, not because of talent but because of effort. good luck michael!

I believe the reason Georgia never offered had to do with Bowman’s grades. Last fall, the word was that UGA wanted him to up his scores to ensure he qualied before making an offer.

i will get this kid in school no matter what it takes. if not i’ll throw him away. i’ve got 21 other recruits to squeeze in school with only 9 slots to fill. man i love recruiting! maybe i’ll take scholarships away from current players if all these guys qualify. just like i did last year. i feel like GOD! it’s great!!!!!!!!!

I am NOT GOD, I am the great Satan! However, I do have ethics like being loyal to those who hire me like LSU,er Miami, er Bammer, ur perhaps who will I be loyal too next? Oh, I know all those players who do not care about ethics-I certainly will be loyal to them, lol.

No Kid in this state, that’s got all the physical traits, and wants to be a DAWG gets passed over, without there being something seriously wrong! When it all comes out, something going to be exposed, and it’s going to be ugly.Good luck kid, but know that if you don’t get to the next level, your education better be intact.Remember you are a part of a multi million dollar slave system, and when there done with you, you better have gotten all you can from them! The people that praise you today, will be the one’s to throw you out like trash tomorrow. The only way to combat that is education, which Alabama don’t seem to care about with you.

Nice to see MB staying loyal to his verbal with Bama. UGA did have grade concerns with this kid and the Dawgs have gotten burned (more than a few times) during CMR’s tenure by allocating scholarships to recruits with grade problems. I.E. Toby Jackson in the class of 2008 who STILL has not qualified to enroll at UGA. Good luck in Tuscaloosa MB!

Utah, Utah, Utah, Bama fans, that word scares you! I wonder if it scares you because of the game, or the fact that y’all spell it “UTAR”! Still Bama, still rednecks, and still in the trailor parks, with a Ford or a Chevy, just depends on who you ask. Billybob will swear by the Ford, and Willie Joe will die in a chevy “It’s Utah” Billybob! Now spell “Utes”!

I’m sure Oscar has adopted several children from war torn eastern europe countries. I’m sure Oscar spends his summers with children that have cancer and the troops in the middle east. I’m sure Oscar isn’t a big fat HYPOCRITE or anything. He probably does all of these things, right Oscar?
What a loser.

UGAGirl….I must respectfully disagree. If that was the case, they would not have gone so hard after OL Bobbie Massie at Hargrave. He is as much an academic concer as Bowman is to be honest with you. Thanks for the reasonable response.
As for the rest of you UGA fans with your Satan and Utah comments. First of all, before you take a shot at any other team, look at the complete lack of discipline your coach has with his own team. Mark Richt is a complete hypocrit who says one thing but does another. UGA has more off the field problems (arrests) and on the field discipline problem (2nd most penalized team in college football) and Richt does nothing about it. No way he tosses a player because that would hurt his chance of winning. As for Utah, I guess you have to reach for that when your team get spanked at home by that same team that lost to Utah. I guess I should remind you that you guys lost to an average GT team…at home again!!!

So Mark Richt is a bad Christian because his football team gets alot of penalties? I did not know that God frowned so heavily upon false starts and illegal formations. Why was this left out of the 10 commandments?
You people are a total riot. Thanks for the laughs.

Nothing hypocritical about Mark Richt. Some of you need to do some research about the man outside of the football realm and the sports pages. The world needs alot more men like Mark Richt, and no I don’t agree with every thing he does. I think he seriously needs to make a change at defensive coordinator. If Bob Knight does come to Georgia I think Richt could really benefit from taking some discipline regiments and idea’s from Knight.

Michael, if Saban’s language on National TV didn’t offend you, go ahead and enjoy your time in Alabama. Ugly uniforms though.

Mike T…Thats all fine and all about Richt in what he does in his personal life. But sets this example of a great man with his mission work and all and then he goes to the win at all cost theory with his football team. He has more players arrested every other year but instead of getting tired of it and setting an example, he maybe suspends them for a game and then it is over. Then you look at his team on the field and they are the most penalized team in the conference and 2nd most penalized in the entire country. The guy does not believe in discipline. It is right in front of you to see.
dab01…Yes, I am sure that the bad language is going to offense someone. Saban is the only person in the world who uses bad language. Funny thing is though, Bob Knight has as foul a mouth as you can find but I know a lot of UGA fans that want him as the head basketball coach there. As for the ugly uniforms….riiiiiiiiight. Most kids pick based on the uniform. I guess he could go to UGA and wear that fancy black jersey because that whole gimmick proved effective last year, huh?

Richt will never win the big game unless he resorts to cheap anitcs like the celebration. He needs to take his spray tan and holy’r than thou attitude and go back to FSU. It funny how these inbred UGA fans are slamming a kid for going out of state…so what about the kids you get from other states…they must be scum as well. Moreno, Stafford, etc,…

plain and simple…..UGA fans would have him choose a school that was ranked #1 for only the pre-season over a school that was ranked #1 for 5 weeks and was relevant in the Nat’l Championship discussions.
Plus, you throw in how Bama embarrassed UGA at their house when UGA tried their little black out thing….kind of makes it easy to choose Bama.
So, UGA fans, keep hating on Saban and his 2nd in a row top 5 recruiting class. All of you complaining look kind of funny in our rear view mirror as Bama has passed UGA by as one of the top teams in the SEC

well from what i hear this kid still hasn’t qualified for college and has questionable character which is why they haven’t pursued him that hard. i like the direction richt is taking this program with new good-character guys. when he first got here he was just taking the best players he could find no matter what, and any real UGA fan knows about the countless players kicked off the team, getting arrested in the off-season, and failing to qualify once they committ. but now u hear stories about chris burnette trying to be validictorian at troupe county HS, zach mettenberger and aaron murray pushing each other to be great while being roomates, greg reid taking blame for his whole teams actions and vowing that it will never happen again, and branden smith literally begging the coaches for a playbook so he can start studying it. i think its a great thing GA DAWGS!!!!!
