McEachern TE commits to Kentucky, says SEC “is best football conference”

McEachern tight end Terrell Mitchell said the phone call he expected from UGA never came, therefore he committed to Kentucky on Saturday.

“I haven’t talked to [Georgia] in a long time … three weeks or more,” Mitchell said. “They haven’t even attempted to call. I guess I’ll see Georgia next when we [Kentucky] play Georgia.”

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Mitchell committed to Kentucky over Michigan. He said Miami and Georgia had shown interest, but neither offered.

“Kentucky has been with me since the start,” Mitchell said. “I liked Kentucky and Michigan about the same. But Kentucky is in the South, closer to home. My family will get to come to a lot of my games. I don’t think they’d go all the way to Michigan to see me as much.”

Miami made a late run at Mitchell, with the Hurricanes offering an official visit for this weekend. “They didn’t offer me, but I didn’t want to play in the ACC. I think the SEC is the best football conference.”

Mitchell said he is close to meeting college entrance requirements.

If he said he’s close to meeting Academic entrance requirements, that means he probably wouldn’t meet ACC academic requirements. Oh, & Michigan is also a top notch acad. school, so he wanted to KY which isn’t near as tough to remain eligible.

The SEC is the best football conference in the country, but one of the reasons for that is that it is definitely the worst of the BCS Conf’s academically. Somel of the SEC schools (especially Ole Miss & Miss St) are jokes academically.

If U look at the rankings of the top Public & Private universities in the country, 6 of the top 35 are ACC, including the likes of Duke, UVA, UNC, BC, GT, & at least one other. The only SEC one in the top 35 is of course Vandy & they are in the top 20, the second highest ranked SEC are UGA & Flor both in the high 50s. the lowest ranked ACC is FSU @ like 102, the 2 lowest SEC (Ole Miss & Miss St) are un-ranked.

That’s one of the biggest reasons that the SEC is the best football conf., if a guy can breath, then they’ll let him in to play football, all schools have special admissions for athletes, but elite academic schools won’t let in some of the guys that the SEC does. one of the biggest reasons for that is that htey guys have to be able to survive (remain eligible) at an acad. school, therefore U need guys that are smart enough that they can do the work, U can’t let in guys w/ a 500 (/1600) SAT, that person will not be able to do the work.

I am in love with yellowblood. Personal experience has proved that with proper lubrication he can now accommodate a small watermelon.

Skeptic, I guess that 45-42 makes you forget about 6:09. You will never live that one down.
