Boston College recruit Klemm now listening to Maryland
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Things aren’t exactly running smooth around the Boston College football offices right now, and as a result, Wheeler offensive lineman Nick Klemm finds himself at odds with his verbal commitment to play for the Eagles.
Klemm - a 6-foot-6, 280-pound tackle - was 100 percent committed to BC but that was before offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr. took a job with the Giants. The Wheeler standout went on an official visit to Boston College on Dec. 12.
After just returning from an official to Maryland this past weekend, Klemm’s recruitment status now comes down to a two-team race between Boston College and the Terrapins.
“It’s pretty tough to deal with something like this,” Klemm said. “It’s very hard to built relationships in a short amount of time. Boston College hasn’t named an offensive line coach yet, and that’s someone you want to know. You’ll be with that person throughout your college career.
“So that’s important to me.”
The Golden Eagles will send a coach to talk with Klemm on Wednesday. Former Syracuse and Minnesota offensive coordinator Mitch Browning has been rumored to be in the running for the open assistant coaching spot, but that’s of little help to Klemm.
He’s high on academics and offensive lineman tradition at Boston College, however, was very impressed with what Maryland had to offer. Klemm remains committed to the Eagles. He did say he would spend this week looking over his options.

Glenn,
Does it really take that much time to research Boston College’s team name? The “Golden Eagles” are Southern Miss, Marquette, and probably a handful of FCS schools.
The EAGLES are BC. No “Golden”. It’s not like this team hasn’t been in the ACC Championship game two years running and has a local QB that’s of note.

Why would a kid pass up our academics for Maryland?
Come on guys. We’re one of the few schools that can combine
-excellent academics (top 35 school) -competitive athletics with great facilities (many ranked programs, some national champions, a Heisman, bowl streak, etc) -big city (Boston)
Whatever.

Klemm may be ahead of the curve on this one. BC seems to be in a mess after their AD pulled a bonehead play with coach Jag. More recruits may be heading for the exit doors come Feb 4th. Too bad, it is a fine school.

I thought he told BC he was going to school there. Why is he talking to Maryland? Oh!, it’s the coach thing. So he didn’t commit to BC, he committed to the coach. That was smart.
