UGA cancels official visit for McEachern TE Terrell Mitchell
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Georgia has cancelled an official visit this weekend for McEachern tight end Terrell Mitchell, coach Kyle Hockman said.
“He is going to Miami instead,” Hockman said. “I think UGA backed off because of his SAT score and academics. He is a little disappointed, but it’s not the end of the world. He has enough out there — he will be fine.”
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Mitchell returned from an official visit to Michigan on Sunday.
“He said it went well,” Hockman said. “It was cold, but he got to meet the head coach. They told him about Michigan’s academics and the number of people in the NFL.”
Hockman said Mitchell has not received new offers, but Arkansas and Mississippi State are trying to get him to visit. “Miami will be it,” he said.

UGA backs off for academic reasons yet Michigan continues to pursue. I’m about to have a pride cry here. Wish him the best regardless.

Hope all works out best for this kid - was hoping he would be a Dawg.
IN any event, Miami, Michigan, plenty of opportunity for Terrell - hope he gets a great education regardless of where he goes to school.
Best of luck!!

Maybe the home town Skeeters will offer — they have lower standards for their athletes than UGA. Plus, he can bring EVERYONE to the games, enough seating for the whole damn town. I know I’ll be there! What a bargain it is to purchase Tech season tickets for the UGA game, quite a bargain, and I feel like I’ve done a good deed for those less fortunate (Tech athletics) — and as a bonus, another empty seat on the Flats!!

Same ol’ story. If you don’t have the grades, go to the ACC!!! I love the Yech/ACC homer myth of “student athletes.” Lol!!! Classic!!!

I’m all for bashing the nats and the acc, but let’s be honest enough not to pretend the nats and most of the acc have lower academic standards than we do. Several of the most recent reports will make you look foolish when the nerds start getting on here.

What? Like this years bowl APR report that showed us behind only Vanderbilt amongst bowl participant schools? I believe Tech was in the 40’s.
