Tucker’s Jonathan Davis accepts Central Florida offer

Tucker’s Jonathan Davis had until Monday night to accept Central Florida’s scholarship offer.

The AJC Super 11 selection took it, selecting the Knights over Alabama-Birmingham. Said Davis, “I love everything about Central Florida, and they have always been one of my favorites, even when those other schools [from bigger conferences] were offering me.”

Davis committed to South Carolina on Dec. 17 and said he had also considered offers from Georgia Tech, Boston College, Central Florida, Oklahoma State and Louisville. South Carolina rescinded the scholarship offer on Jan. 10, causing Tucker’s coach to say the Gamecocks were no longer welcome on campus.

The 5-foot-7, 205-pound Davis later said he had no hard feelings toward South Carolina.

Great pull for GOL and UCF. Davis showed tremendous character after Spurrier et al. reneged on their scholarship offers a few weeks back. Though he had every right to, he never said a single bad word about USCe or Spurrier. He said only that he is focused on moving forward. And now he has. Davis is a class act and O’Leary got a winner in this kid.

After what happened with South Carolina, great to see that he’s going to get an opportunity on the next level at a quality school.

UCF is getting one of the best players in the country. This kid is a stud. He went under the radar because of his height but he will be great for O’Leary and UCF.

Pretty solid player, but he’s not even close to “one of the best players in the country”. Good pickup for a school like UCF though.

DungeonBoss Don’t ya think it’s kinda queer to talk about a recruit’s “wood?”

“jan”: an education is what you make of it… and I’m pretty sure they’ll at least teach him that “alot” is two words. That’s great irony folks.

Monitor Sure, but then I figured only those of that bent it would read it in that light. Enjoy.
