Tennessee flirts with Auburn commitment Brandon Jacobs

Tennessee is still interested in Parkview running back and Auburn commitment Brandon Jacobs.
“Coach [Eddie] Gran called me to talk about the situation at Tennessee,”Jacobs said. “I’m not sure if they are after me necessarily, but he did call me.”
But the 6-foot-1, 226-pound Jacobs reaffirmed his commitment to Auburn Monday night. “I was pretty confident even when I first started getting recruited that I was going to Auburn. They were the first to show interest. I have family there as well.”
Jacobs, a two-sport athlete, plans to play football and baseball at Auburn. He committed in July. “I talked with the coach and he wants me to establish myself as a football player first,” he said. “Hopefully then I’ll get to play baseball my sophomore year.”
Jacobs said he was a little disappointed having to find out he couldn’t play baseball his freshman year. “I understand I’m going on a football scholarship, and I need to establish myself as a football player before anything,” he said.

AU, remember the last time you lost a “Brandon Jacobs”, he looks pretty good in a NY Giants uniform now, might want to keep this one close to you.

Big Mike, you have to remember that when the first Brandon Jacobs came to campus we had to pretty good running backs by the name of Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams. There wasn’t much playing time to be had.

Kiffin is physically incapable of recruiting a player who’s not already committed to another school, isn’t he?

Because of his hiring in December he was behind on recruiting these recruits. Next year it will be everyone else trying to get UT’s recruits.

Whatever helps you guys look each other in the eye Big Orange. But I’m willing to bet that we’ll hear Kiffin pitching a fit this time next year when the new coach at South Carolina is doing the same thing to him.

All the recruits mean nothing if you can’t do anything with them…Carroll let Kiffin go without a fight, same with Orgeron. Add all the attitudes from their 10 coaches (sorry…Robinson is a grad assistant….right…) and you have to many generals and not enough soldiers. Add in the fact that after they all get head coach offers next year, UT will be left with Monte and son and sinking ship. Newsflash, the UT defense was already good. Monte can’t make it much better than it is and once Berry is gone, you guys are going to be in trouble.
