Buford sends two seniors flying toward Air Force
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
Buford tight end Devin Durden and running back Cody Getz have committed to Air Force.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Durden pledged to the Falcons after his official visit there Sunday, following his visit to Coastal Carolina. The 5-7, 150-pound Getz made his commitment on Monday.
Durden, a former Wolves backup to T.J. Pridemore (Florida) and J.T. Swanson (Miami-Ohio), was on the receiving end of much of quarterback Michael May’s 1,200-plus passing yards this season. Getz, the Journal-Constitution’s Class AA player of the year, ran for 233 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-21 victory over Calhoun that crowned the Wolves’ second consecutive 15-0 season and state championship.

Getz’ stature won’t get raves but, without a doubt, he’s been one of the top playmakes in this football crazy state of GA. Coach Calhoun will have him returning punts, kickoffs, spotting in the slot and in the backfield. Great choice of college Cody…you can’t go wrong with any of the academys. Your neighors in Buford and, particularly, Coles Mill Xing are extremely proud of you!! Air Force got a STEAL!!

Cody has been a star since his rec. days at Collins Hill Park and will no doubt be a player at Air Force. He and Jonathan Davis (Tucker) were once in the same backfield, what a sight that was.
