M.L. King RB Mack Brown gets early offers from UGA and Florida
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Categories
M.L. King’s junior running back Mack Brown received offers from Florida and Georgia on Friday, coach Corey Jarvis said.
“It’s a big day for Brown,” he said. “I know he is pretty happy. He deserves it. And I know if he does what he needs to do in the classroom he can choose where he wants to go.”
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound tailback, arguably the state’s best junior running back, received the offers from UGA assistant coach Bryan McClendon and UF assistant coach Kenny Carter.
“Mack speaks highly of [UGA coach] Mark Richt and his staff, but his folks are from Ocala, Fla. and they are huge Gator fans,” Jarvis said.
Brown is attending junior day at Florida this weekend and Georgia Tech on Jan. 31.
He now has eight offers, including West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Oregon, Louisville and Arkansas.
He finished the 2008 season with nearly 1,700 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns.

Shouldn’t the headline read “offers” because UF and UGA can’t offer together. Another fine example of journalism from the clowns at the AJC.

RedDevilDawg, shouldn’t your first sentence have a question mark at the end of it instead of a period? If you’re going to be the grammar police, you’d better proofread your own posts before you jump down the throats of the AJC editorial staff.

Yechies would say he’s not a student athlete if he goes to either of the two. But now if he went to Yech he’d of course be a brilliant student. Lol!!!

SatanMutt, it’s quite obvious that you’re not a journalist. If you were one, you wouldn’t say things like “If I was,” when you should’ve said, “If I were.” Have a great weekend!

Mack Brown is all gator, just like Jarvis Jones is going to be. These kids grew up gator fans
If you don’t believe me about Jarvis, I’m friends with him on facebook and he just changed his profile picture to one where he is wearing a UF jersey

It seems weird that Urban Meyer would recruit so much outside of Florida when his own state is absolutely loaded with talent… unless of course wants to show Notre Dame how well he recruits nationally. Or maybe he just wants to be Pete Carroll when he grows up.

RedDevilDawg: I AM a professional journalist, and it’s offer. Now, if only UGA had offered the scholarship it would have been “UGA offers.”

OK. If you’re under 18, live with your mom, unemployed because the waffle house just laid you off, or just plain stupid, then please don’t blog here because the rest of us don’t care to read your idiotic posts. Now then, Mack, enjoy the recruiting process and make sure that you visit all the schools before making one of the biggest decisions of your life. Congratulations to you for your successes on the field and work just as hard in the classroom to make all your dreams come true inside and out of football. Way to go.

Excuse me! Isn’t this suppose to be a blog about football and not grammer.Mack Brown is the subject here, and who can out spell, or out puncuiate who is not relevant. Now back to the subject,Mack every kid dreams of playing in front of the home crowd, not where Mom, or Dad, come from, but where you grew and became a young man.If Georgia is where you’re from, then Dawg country is where you need to lay your legacy.Twenty years from now, it won’t be Mom, or Dad, it’ll be where Mack left his legacy. Now let me leave you with something to think about,UF has Emmitt Smith, and yes he is a legend down there, but if you want to look at a school with tailback history, with the exception of USC [NOT SOUTH CAROLINA],UGA is the only place to look at. From Willie McCleadon, to Herschel Walker,Keith henderson,Tim Worley,Rodney Hampton,Garrison Hearst,Terrell Davis,Musa Smith,Thomas Brown,Kregg Lumpkin, to Knowshon Moreno! This is the school to play tailback at.All went, or, are currently in the pro’s ,[Knowshon waiting to be a first round pick] kid if you play tailback at UGA, you’re playing on Sundays. Now that I’ve made this easy for you, what are you waiting for. Over 92,000 fans are waiting to scream your name. CLICK-CLACK

Greenville S.C. DAWG: You really don’t have a sense of ironical satire, do you? As you may be aware students of linguistics study blogs to determine the decline of the written language in our culture. I’m the first to admit that research is beyond the norm for academic study, but it does reveal concerns on all levels of education about communications skills throughout our populace.
While you’re right that this is just a blog, but if people write on the job the way they do on most blogs, then their ability to communicate effectively is impaired. In other words, you play they way you practice.

Big MIKE: Not really, just making comments on the posts some folks make. If you’ll note at the beginning of the blog, RedDevilDawg ripped the grammar of the headline and I was just adding my comments on the subject.
I’ll end my posts on this subject by writing that I hope Mack Brown signs with Georgia and becomes a super Div. I running back!

RJS…when you win 2 national championships in 3 years…I believe you have already grown up…and other coaches want to be you. Urban Meyer has already established himself and one of the top 5 coaches in college football. Right now, based on his achievements at Florida, Utah, and Bowling Green…he is the best college football coach in America. Dawg fans can only wish Richt was this grown up!

Reddeveildog is a great demonstratoin of the ignorance and the arrogance of the dit wit dogs. He thinks he knows everything, he obviously knows nothing, and he is the loudest guy in the room. He probably graduated with honors from UGA and went on to UGA law.
It doesn’t matter what Brown does, gators will win another national champoinship next year, and we all know what the balllickers will be doing.

Mack can either be a Gator or he can be Gator bait. My guess is that he would want to be on the right side of 49-10 and 16 out of the last 19. Richt, a Bobby Bowden wannabe who recruits pretty well, but tends to lose as many big games as Bob Stoops (without the National Championship) or Meyer, an innovator who has won 2 of the last 3 National Championships with two very different types of starting quarterbacks? Easy choice. Let Richt send his players out to break the rules and incite riots while illegally celebrating a rare touchdown while Meyer will out work, out recruit, and out scheme him the rest of the time. Meyer owns Richt and it will only get worse for the Poodles now that Meyer is in reload mode. But, yes, Georgia did own the series back in the 1920’s and ‘30’s….

I wonder if Mack Brown will be the typical athlete at UGA and UF….great athlete but can’t read, write, or add the numbers on his jersey. Really pathetic. If he doesn’t have a criminal record now I’m sure it’s coming.

57-9
5 bowls
4 bowl wins
3 BCS bowl wins
3 13 win seasons
3 conference championships
2 national championships
1 Heisman winner
1 #1 overall NFL draft pick.

BILLY JACK’S HISTORY LESSON #1
Now, if you want to fall back on ANCIENT HISTORY and count games in the series when Florida only had a club team, go right ahead, but here is much more contemporary stats:
If you count the series in the 2000’s, Florida leads Georgia 7 games to 2.
If you go back to the beginning of the ‘90’s, Florida leads 16 games to 3.
If you go back to the beginning of the ‘80’s, Florida leads 18 games to 11.
If you go back to the 1970’s, Florida leads 21 games to 18.
If you go back to the ‘60’s, Florida leads 27 wins to 21.
If you go back to the ‘50’s, Florida leads 33 wins to 25.
If you go back to the beginning of the 1940’s, Florida leads 35 games to Georgia’s 32.
So, in other words, FOR THE LAST SEVENTY YEARS, Florida has owned Georgia. Georgia has had a few periods of ownership, but, in the OVERALL SERIES, Florida has OWNED Georgia OVERALL since the 1930’s. (Hey even Princeton, Harvard and Notre Dame had periods when they were strong).
If you want to go back to Pre-World War II historical times, be my guest. I wasn’t even alive then.
