New Jersey OL has Georgia Tech among four finalists

Fresh off a weekend visit to Virginia, Nolan MacMillan, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive lineman for The Hun School in Princeton, N.J., will take his final official on Friday when he travels to Boston College.

“I wouldn’t say I have a front-runner, but things are starting to work themselves out in my mind,” said MacMillan, who confirmed that his finalists are Boston College, Georgia Tech, Iowa and Virginia.

Georgia Tech slot backs coach Jeff Monken and co-offensive line coach Todd Spencer are actively recruiting MacMillan.

“I actually saw coach Monken at The Hun School on Monday,” MacMillan said. “I speak to him and coach Spencer regularly.

“I have a good relationship with coach Monken.”

Maybe this is the recruit that will vault Tech to the bottom of the top 25 recruiting classes again. Did you notice that he’s from New Jersey? Seems like Tech has a better reputation with northerners than with the folks that know it best. I guess the commemaritive ring for beating your in state rival plays better up there. IF you guys beat us next year maybe you can get the Franklin mint to issue a limited edition coin with PJ on the front and a bee holding a T square on the back.

Wreck,

You’re a typical moronic Tech fan that more than likely jump on their bandwagon this season. UGA has never had a #1 recruiting class. We rarely 5 stars as well. But according to you Techers on here, to overhype your 3 point victory, you people want to convince everybody that UGA only lands 5 star recruits and they have the number 1 recruiting class each and every season. Just more lies from the worst fans in college sports.

Fyi, if you knew anything you’d know Moreno recruited UGA, not the other way around. He hopped on a train with his films intending to stop by UGA and UF because he was smart enough to realize he wanted to play in the SEC. He liked UGA so much he didn’t bother going on to Gainesville.

Nothing more humorous than an idiot Tech fan pretending to know what they’re talking about.

REALITYYECH AND JACKET HYPOCRITE—It’s a good thing you have your dad’s computer to hide behind. You strike me as the kind of worms, that if you were alone and come across a Tech fan, you would not even open your mouth for fear of being brutally punished. You’re nothing but weasly chicken s—-’s that can’t stand the fact that your team lost to a better team (45 to 42 means you lost). I’m sure UGA has some good representation, but you two do your player’s and coaches a horrific dis-service. Try growing up and maybe there’s a slim chance for a life for you

Teams get to buy THINGS with College Money for the end of the season PARTING GIFTS. Tech players chose to spend that money on rings and after beating UGA they decided to add the UGA score to the ring. UGA fans get over it or understand that BOWL money can be spent on anything. There ain’t nothing but Steers, Queers, and Cowboys in Stillwater. I hope UGA puts some horns on UGA VII so people don’t think he is gay when he licks himself.

Hey Wreck, maybe those coins should have a caption around the edge….”We’re Number 22” in recognition of that high ranking from this past year. You asked whether I think this is important…. Uhh Yeah?!! Must be important to you too since you’re on here alot. You called me a dimwit, was that necessary? You guys are 1-7 in recent years but you feel the need to resort to name calling when faced with the reality that PJ just isn’t getting it done on the recruiting trail. Case in point, the article b4 this one talks about a kid that wants to be a pilot, who turned down major colleges because they could’nt prepare him for his goal; Tech wasn’t even in the mix. You guys have astronauts but you’re not on this kids radar. Seems like you PJ is gonna make Tech Navy South, good enuff to occasionally beat a powerhouse but not good enuff to compete for championships. At UGA we compete for championships 2 S.E.C. championships in 5 years.

Fact #1: Preseason #1 UGA just got beat at home by a Tech team picked to go 3-9. A team with a first-year coach who has not had time yet to recruit more guys for his system.

Fact #2: The rings were to commemorate the entire season. The seniors voted to include the score of the game on the ring because ending the UGAs win streak was a big goal.

Fact #3: UGA’s recruiting classes over the past years have frequently been top 10, whereas Tech has had one top-15 class. No question UGA is a deeper team.

Be assured of this: Coach Richt (a great coach) is not laughing. Georgia had 2 weeks to prepare for GT’s offense this year. Next year UGA might only have 1 week.

The Gailey years before Paul Johnson are totally irrelevant to this team of Jackets.

The dogs know this. That is why they’re on here and PIS$ED!!

We have a Top 25 recruiting class this year. Gailey only had 1 Top 25 recruiting class in his 7 yrs at Tech. Paul Johnson beat the mutts running a new offense AND new defense.

If I was a dog fan, I’d be PIS$ED, too!!! LOL!!!

UGA’91,

I’m sure this isn’t news to you, but Tech fans are the most vile, arrogant, bandwagon jumpers in all of college sports. They’re just miserable people. Most who claim to be Tech fans never attended the school. Those that did found out they couldn’t cut it in engineering and were forced to jump on the M-train and are competing for business jobs against UGA grads and they can’t handle it. They’re not happy people. Look at how insane and nasty they got over beating a cross town rival that owns them and they’re forced to call daddy. Don’t mock them, pity them.

By Johnson is not laughing

Fact #1: You know you have nothing to brag about if you’re stuck talking about PRESEASON rankings and are trying to convince yourself you beat a number 1 team, when obviously you didn’t.

Fact #2: No amount of spin will deflect the fact the Tech players made rings to celebrate beating UGA by a mere 3 points. That’s a douche as you get.

Fact #3: UGA had their worst defense in years. They were destroyed with injuries all season long. You barely beat the worst defense in the SEC.

Fact #4: It took Richt 8 seasons to lose his first game to a ACC team. Johnson got slaughtered by a mediocre SEC team in his first season at home. Not good moving forward.

Richt is definitely laughing at all the idiotic Tech fans that swear they are now world beaters for barely defeating the worst defense Richt has had since being at UGA. As am I and the rest of the Dawg Nation.

In the event Nolan and his family bothers to read these blogs, let me be the first to apologize for the immaturity of majority of those you have found on this blog. Football in the South is a “tradition” and sometimes the so-called fans take things too far.

I can assure you that the real fans of both teams handle themselves with much more dignity and respect than the childish morons you will normally find on the AJC blogs.

Southern hospitality is still alive and well, and we would be happy to demonstrate it to all of you personally, instead of you having to deal with those who hide behind keyboards.

Do yourself a favor and choose UGA. We’re the best preseason team ever. We’ll go undefeated this year again just to prove to all the doubters that we’re the best team in the nation again. Forget about the three embarrassingg butt whippings we took last year, just remember that a hopeless internet blogger told you that we’re the best. I know that you kids being recruited read these blogs and I know for a fact that you listen to kids like me.

We may not be preseason #1 but we’ll go undefeated and blow out the bugs in ATL. Tech didn’t even have fans until this year. UGA fans the best there ever was. We’re so classy that make our femail types bark at the other teams players.

Ramble on I am sure it is fun….shame you do not experience all that fun more often! If it is as much fun as it beating the nerd herd, then I know you are enjoying it! The difference between you and I is I have enjoyed all that fun 14 out of the last 18 years!

Nolan come on down if you wish. Everybody has to go somewhere, but know this. you will be coming to a once proud program that made the fatal mistake of leaving the SEC 45 or so years ago and has not and will not recover. If you listen to the spin put forth here by the few GT fans they would have you believe otherwise. The fact is Gt has not been to a major bowl since 1966!!! Thats right…42 years ago and counting!!! Even though they play in one of the two weakest major conferences, they have been able to play for the championship only once…losing in a less than half full stadium! Losing to anothjer wannabe..Weak Forest!

Got to give the Tech faithful props though….they seem excited about the possibility of getting the services of the 127th ranked OT in the country! CPJ sure can recruit…Strange though…the word is they need smaller, quicker OL’s for their new offense and I notice you are 6ft 6inches and 285 lbs. mmmmmm

Oh…the ring thing..lol..you guys just do not get it! No one cares that the players choose to buty rings with their bowl money….it’s just that most teams and players that are used to winning would be pi$$ed about going 9-4 and getting totally embarassed in a mid-level bowl. Most good teams would consider that a bad year…certainly not worth celebrating with a keepsake!!! But i guess everyone has their standards and expectations!!!

Please GT could get back to prominence easily…I mean why not dont say cause we play in the ACC….Remember VT in 1999 and FSU in the 90s….college football is cyclical we will be back and it will be very soon.

By Dear GT student

January 22, 2009 6:25 PM | Link to this

Ummm, no, the Citrus bowl is NOT a major bowl. A major bowl would consist of Sugar, Rose, Orange, and Fiesta. You know the BCS bowls! At one time, the Cotton Bowl was a major as well. You see, when Tech won the ACC in 1990, the ACC did NOT have a tie-in with a mjor bowl. Before the BCS, the tie-in were as followed SEC w/ Sugar, Big 8 w/ Orange, Big 10 and Pac 10 w/ Rose. IN FACT, GT went to the lower-tiered CITRUS BOWL and the runner-up (Virgina) went to the SUGAR. Outside of BYU in 1984, I cannot remember a team winning a National Title after playing in a lower-tiered bowl. No disrespect but please learn the facts before stating the “Citrus is a major bowl”

It’s amazing how dominant so many of these GA fans actually think GA has been vs. Tech in the previous 5 games (4-1). How quickly they forget what a bad motivator Chan Gailey is, and the level of importance he (didn’t) put on this game. And to think this coach, who never realized that Reggie Ball was not a D-1 QB, was still sooo close to beating GA in 3 of these past 5 games.

Sure wish I could see the expression on all these confident GA fans’ faces in late November this year when the Paul Johnson coached Jackets go 2-0 vs. their in-state rival.

Blah, blah, blah GA fans … I know, the dogs are getting all the great recruits, and will have a roster 3 or 4 times deeper than Tech’s. Seemed to me that GA did/had the same last season too as we Tech fans heard. And you told us then how bad Tech would lose the game on 11/29/2008.

Tech 45, GA 42…

People, Paul Johnson simply KNOWS HOW TO WIN RIVALRY GAMES; get ACCustomed to it!

By Mmmhmmm....

January 23, 2009 9:47 AM | Link to this

Funny how desperate Techies are getting. Now 4-1 isn’t “dominate.” Next they’ll say a 22 game series lead isn’t really that big of a deal. Weird how they never mention it took Richt 8 seasons just to lose his first game to a lame ACC team, and he only did by 3. Meanwhile the overrated Johnson get’s slaughtered by a 5 loss SEC team in his first season. Funny how Techies are trying to convince themselves they beat UGA’s starting roster from the summer, instead of the injury riddled makeshift team UGA was forced to put together. If Tech would have lost half the number of guys UGA did they wouldn’t have even been .500.

Somebody needs to take a baseball bat to realit yech yech and knock his teeth out the back of his head. The fact is only Alabama, Florida and Tech had enough offense to beat UGag. 3 star Freshman against 5 star Jr and Sr. ball players.

We will alays remember Flight 409; which took off from Sanford and Son stadium and landed 45 points later. The looks on your fans faces, in the cold dismal rain. The schock and unbelief as they filed out of the stadium and headed to the bars to drown their sorrows. Garder Webb played better that UGag. I don’t care if we lost the bowl game. The REAL bowl game was in Athens; on Senior day, and Vince Dooley Day, and Larry Munson day, with the fat bald governor looking on. YOU LOST!
