Courtney Dalcourt, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound quarterback for Franklin-Simpson High in Franklin, Ky., committed to Western Kentucky on Tuesday.
He had been considering Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Louisville. Dalcourt, who took an official visit to Tech last month, didn’t receive a scholarship offer from the Jackets.
But he was just behind Dontae Aycock of Chamberlain High in Tampa, Fla., on Tech’s recruiting board.
Aycock will likely commit to Tech and become the third quarterback in the Jackets’ 2009 recruiting class.
“It really does look like [Western Kentucky] is rising and upcoming,” Dalcourt told InsideHilltopperSports. “I feel like I’ll be able to come out and compete in a couple of years and take over and take it farther athletically.
“I just really got along with the coaches really well and felt at home there.”

Blessing in disguise Courtney. Yech has the worst fans in all of D-IA sports, especially for their football team. They’re forced to sink to humiliating depth just to get their own base to attend games. The best gimmicks so far have been the 3 game packages (that opposing team’s fans buy up) with free cokes, hot dogs and kissing booths with real live “girls” in them. The other is the gangsta rappers, that promote violence and unprotected sex, that Yech aligns themselves with that they pay to give mini concerts for their halftime shows.
It’s very pathetic and count your blessings you won’t have to endure this shame and embarrassment.

Sorry guys. I don’t have much to post here, seeing as how GT didn’t offer the kid. Im a pathetic loser. I don’t have anything good to say about my underachieving, THuga team, so I talk trash about the best school/team in the state. Im 19 and think im so tough and smart b/c I follow recruiting. I like to give you TECHIES a hard time b/c I know that i will never get a good job with my HORTICULTURE degree. I know that I will never leave athens (like so many uga grads) and will just end up working as a bar tender b/c 83.5% of grads from uga stay in athens, and make less than $38,750 a year. Look it up.

I keep seeing this name “RealityYech”. I feel bad for souls with nothing better to do in life. I know it’s winter, but go for a walk, seek self improvement, help someone in need. Sports are just entertainment. Be productive.

Thug team? UGA had a kid several years back that had “inappropiate” behavior concerns that he was suspended from his school for a week. Never arrested. He was later proved to be innocent but Richt didn’t want him after such accusations and sent him to Ark. instead. Tech is going to play a kid next year that was arrested for rape. UGA has never had a kid busted in a FBI drug raid like Tech did a few seasons ago, and they still played him in their bowl game. Least not forget Saint Hamiliton. Tech Golden boy that proved how much of scumbag he is by getting arrested for drunk driving, hit and run, open container and drug possession. The irony, he was in charge of player personnel for the team. The trash keeps getting trashier. Luckily Atlanta will finally have a respectable college to get behind once State gets up and running.
Yeah, 75% of all incoming Tech freshmen that intend to major in engineering end up hopping on the M-train or that ridiculous Liberal Arts college. Tech is the butt of all jokes.

Congratulations Courtney…earning a scholarship to play football is a huge achievement and you should be proud as should your entire family. That’s more than most everyone on these blogs has ever done and that includes me.

Jackethypocrite is dead on!!! I laughed so hard the first time I read that! Lol! Two first rounders in UGA’s backfield behind a freshman and sophomore stacked OL that was pushing Techs 3 first round defensive players backwards the whole game. UGA will do exactly what they’ve done ALL the other years they’ve kicked your face in. They don’t have a 22 game series lead for nothing.
Lol, better academically? Is that why you have so many “one and dones” in hoops and why every big time target Tech has had this recruiting season has picked an SEC team instead?

Hey JacketHypocrite,
I know you feel special because you picked out the three Tech players who have ended up in the news lately, but didn’t UGA have like 11 players arrested just in a span of like 6 months? Maybe that’s where the previous poster got the “thug behavior” from. Tech players getting arrested is an exception, while UGA players getting arrested is expected. It happens every year time and time again.

I have no problems with boys being boys. The ocassional drinking underage or fighting. And I’ll take a kid driving without a license or with his lights off over a drug Lord and rapist any day. Fact is, Richt would have gotten rid of any of the “three” I “singled” out in a heartbeat. While Tech just makes excuses for them and continues to play them. Sorry bub, but you need to try a little harder.
You play drug dealers and rapists, while UGA plays guys that do the ocassional dumb college stunt that a lot of non-athletes do.
You should be ashamed of yourself for making excuses for such lowlifes, but then again, you are a Techie. Go figure

awwww, I think JacketHypocrite is a little bitter. Mark Richt is a great coach. I hope he goes pro. But Paul Johnson is a great coach too. And he will not allow that type of behavior to go unpunished. UGA fans know this and don’t like that we get more out of our players than Richt does out of his. Boys will be boys? More like thugs will be thugs. I’ve seen those kids walking around Athens like they’re gods. Tech football players are just another student off the field to Tech fans.

The dawgs are gonna paste the bugs in ATL next year. Joey Cox is the next Steve Young and AJ Green is the next Jerry Rice. Tech could never get any talent like that. Last year was a luckie flook that won’t happen for another 5 years. We’re the best there ever was and everyone know it. UGA is known for having the best fans with lots of class and lots of pride. Yeah we had a few arrests last year (more arrests than wins actually) but everyone does! Dawg nation will be #1 next year and there ain’t nothing the bugs can do about it.

That’s right. Our UGA players just punched a kid so hard it collapsed his orbital socket. Boys being boys. And DUI’s aren’t a big deal! Bar fights are a normal part of life and so is driving home drunk. As long as our players do it in Athens and don’t go to someone else’s city and do it it’s all okay.

That’s right. Our Golden boy Joey Hamilton got not only a DUI, but an open container, hit and run AND drug possession violation! That’s how we do it on the flats biooootch!!! Not to mention we play FBI busted drug dealers AND proven rapists. We’re so desperate we’d play UBL if he could catch a pass!! But we don’t put up with the driving without a license, underage possession bs. You got to be a man at Tech and at least make some bombs or beat a woman type shyt!!!!
