Central Florida gives deadline to Tucker’s Jonathan Davis
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Tucker’s Jonathan Davis is “on the clock” with Central Florida.
Davis, an AJC Super 11 selection, took an official visit this past weekend to Central Florida, which said it had a football scholarship waiting for Davis. Central Florida coach George O’Leary didn’t pressure Davis into committing, but said he would like to “know one way or the other” when he makes an in-home visit on Jan. 26.
That gives Davis around a week to see what other college options, if any, become available before the Central Florida deadline.
“I like [O’Leary], he knows a lot has been going on with me lately,” Davis said. “He wants me at Central Florida, and said take some time to think about it.”
“I like Central Florida a lot. But I’m glad he gave me some time, because so much happened so quickly over the last week. I’m still trying to process it all.”
The 5-foot-7, 205-pound Davis also has an offer from Alabama-Birmingham, while he is still trying to contact some other schools recruiting him before he committed to South Carolina on Dec. 17. The Gamecocks rescinded the scholarship offer on Jan. 9.
Davis said during his official visit to Central Florida, some of the other prospects brought up the South Carolina situation. “They just kept saying it was messed up. I didn’t really have anything to say back about it because … I’ve moved forward. I’m trying to focus only on the schools recruiting me.”

J.D., It’s late in the game, don’t get left out in the cold. you’ve got UAB,or UCF. Make a choice.Truthfully it’s because of your height[I know it should’nt matter, but welcome to the real world] that others have not come forward. Makke the best of what you got, and pick a school this week! P.S. I’m sure the girls, and education are better in FLA, and you won’t be required to own a pick-up, and doublewide after graduation.

I would like for my Dawgs to back off of another WR and skill player and sign two Speed defensive ends, even if they are three star players.

JB, since this article is about Mr Davis, are you saying UGA should sign him as speed defensive end? Just wondering how you got there?

JD, my dad aways told me bird in hand is better then 2 in the bush, meaning wait a day or so and if you don’t get another offer, choose UCF, its the better option over UAB. This will be a blessing with your talent you will be legendary at UCF.

Truth be told, I don’t understand why he hasn’t committed to UCF already. Great coach, great campus, great city, great weather, tremendous fans down there (especially the student section at their new stadium). Davis could really run things down there as he will have every opportunity to succeed if he so chooses.

It’s true that UCF is a better FB school than UAB, but watch yourself, they might kill you in training. They’ve killed off a couple of players in just the last year, and O’Leary has basically lied about it.
Big Mike: Going to UAB won’t be ideal but at least Alabama knows how & where to bury their dead people.
Do you remember that the 1st winner of the Ga Lottery bought a doublewide and moved to Alabama?

…that thinks he had his offer pulled by UGA and now his coach has “banned” UGA recruiters? He better hurry or UCF will pull the offer, too, and then the coach will have to ban UCF recruiters! some kids just don’t get it, do they?
