Injured Tucker LB rewards college for loyalty

Tucker linebacker Tevin Holliman said loyalty was the main reason he plans to play football at Western Kentucky.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker said in a text message Sunday that while he had nearly 10 scholarship offers, it ended up being an easy decision to commit to Western Kentucky. He said the school continued recruiting him after his injured the ACL in his left knee in week 2 of Tucker’s run to the Class AAAA championship.

“They were the only school that stayed in touch with me and came to visit me after my injury,” he said. “They stuck with me.”

Holliman had 33 tackles and four sacks for Tucker. He said Western Kentucky has hinted that he’ll play defensive end in college.

Central Florida, Akron, Buffalo, Ohio, South Alabama, Eastern Michigan, and Iowa State also offered.
