ECI coach Milan Turner says job rumors are untrue

ECI football coach Milan Turner, whose team won a Class A title in 2007, told the AJC he’s not a candidate for another job.
Internet message boards and Turner’s cell phone lit up Wednesday evening with rumors that Turner is candidate for a job with a Warner Robins school.
“I haven’t talked to anybody about a job,” Turner told the AJC’s Todd Holcomb. “I haven’t interviewed or sought any other jobs. I don’t know why all the rumors are out there. But I’ve had a lot of people calling me … and I’m getting burned out big-time.”
Turner, a former assistant coach at Warner Robins, went to ECI in 2005, and his record is 45-7. ECI has three of the state’s top prospects with tailback Washaun Ealey (committed to UGA), linebacker Dexter Moody (UGA), and lineman J.C. Lanier (Georgia Tech).
Milan is viewed as one of the state’s best up-and-coming young coaches, a logical target for a larger school seeking a new coach. But Turner said he’s not looking to move. “I’m not going anywhere,” Turner said. “I’m staying put.”

Thanks Coach Turner for not leaving us. We love you and pray that God will bless you with another winning season and a trip back to the Dome for another state championship. We had to play a AA school, but we will be ready for them next year. The Fans will be back and we are very bless to have you back. You are an inspiration to all who know you. We made not be a big town, but we have big hearts and again I speak for many, we love you and admire you. God has blessed us through you. Thanks Gloria ECI Alumni

Gloria, Was the “We had to play a AA school” comment some kind of a fantasy land excuse? You actually got your rear ends handed to you, and it was by a much better “A” school. If the coach at Wesleyan wasn’t such a class act the score would have been much worse. Get over it.
